40:06 it says it eliminates a chest and spawns one at its level. So let's say you eliminate a basic one, it might spawn a basic one or a blue one if your key is blue. Likewise Eliminating a green chest might give you a blue one or a green one. Wording needs a bit of work.
PRO TIP: For treasure hunters, there are only 2 relics you care about (% damage based on gold & gain gold when a piece is eliminated) so elites are less valuable than the smiths for that comp. There is technically one more relic you want but it only spawns with the demon merchant to my knowledge it increases the area you effects cover by one at the cost of 30 max HP to pick up. And the carrot relic which I think also spawns at the demon merchant so technically 4 but the demon merchant ones are rare. So more optional. You want 2 treasure hunter camps levels 1 & 2 respectively. NEED at least one key and I'm pretty sure you can only get a second on through the shape shifter. The keys upgrade only appears like it does nothing. It is the single most powerful piece in the game period because it's ability to snowball you into insanity. I don't wanna ruin the surprise because your jaw will literally drop when you realize what it's doing, but spending gold on the key at the blacksmith is THE most beneficial thing you can do in any run. It takes precedence over EVERYTHING. DO NOT pollute your deck. Should only have around 20 non chest units. You can get chests that will push you into having an inventory but you want to avoid having too many non elimination units. You need space for chests to spawn from the matryoshka chest and your keys.
Much appreciate the well thought out tips! I've definitely had the range artifact before. It may just make an appearance in my next Lucky Hunter video ;)
I just tried a gold hunter build today, and followed your advice! After a couple of tries with it, I managed to get all the way to level 97!! Doing over a billion damage each attack!! For anyone else that wants to try, here's a couple things I learned from my initial, far less successful attempts: 1) Get the key as soon as humanly possible, get rid of the soldiers and spears as soon as possible, then get as many shapeshifters as you can, until you manage to clone the key at least once. And try not to get your first camp until *after* you have a 2nd key; the more things are on the board, the more likely it is to copy the wrong thing. 2) Try not to add a camp or other gold hunters in until you've got a pretty large supply of chests going; if you add too many hunters too early, you'll find yourself struggling to resupply your chests every turn, and one turn off can be disasterous! 3) if you manage to get 3 keys, make sure they are NEVER upgraded to the same rarity unless it's red!! I ruined a fantastic run by accidentally upgrading all 3 of mine to yellow, then they combined, and one red is WAY worse than, say, 2 yellows and a purple. 4) the elimination-based flags are *crucial* to scaling your damage; don't neglect them. 5) Defense can be tricky; if you aren't one shotting everything with ease, you're gonna need shields. 6) If it feels like your damage is starting to plateau, make sure you aren't overloading the board; ideally, you should have a few empty spaces at the start of every turn. 7) If your damage is plateauing despite not clogging the board, making room for a few ninjitsu scrolls and scripts will send your damage soaring to new heights!! 8) Don't be afraid to spend your gold (wisely)!! Any time it felt like the build was struggling, or would struggle soon (especially right before bosses), I'd spend a bunch of money in the shop to ensure I couldn't die in the next couple of battles. It saved the run more times than I could count! Happy hunting, internet strangers!

you need to pick armor in the beginning to not kill in one hit. (i'm om stage: 200+) since you kill in one hit, you won't have the time to fill up your grid.
Don't think I have unlocked potions yet. A lot of people are mentioning potions though. Guess I figured the last unlock was going to be pretty synergistic with itself rather than everyone else.

It feels like u want to focus on camps/match flags and chests. Since the gold hunters gain dmg with each piece (aka chest) destroyed u want atleast 1 chest per round, also purple chests are busted :D they give free dmg output for comming rounds
For sure! I think I just put two and two together too late with this faction and figured it out at the end of my last run lol I'll have to make a redemption video :D
