    Why didn't you install the door edge trim or door handle stuff?

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson
      @HowtowithPaulHenderson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reason why I didn't install the door edge and cup protectors is because I'm careful opening the doors so I didn't feel the need.

    Thank you for the video. Didn’t know Weathertech made them damn protectors!

      Mine still look perfect, but I now have a mark on the front passenger protector, very small mark, but it's there. All I can say is it did it's job.
      I had just bought some car cleaning stuff from AutoZone and put them on the front passenger seat, didn't realize the WD-40 can had shifted to the edge of the seat so when I went around and opened the door to get everything out the can of WD-40 hit the door sill. I'm sure it would have chipped or marked up the paint, but instead it put a mark on the protector. So I think they are worth it., the protector did what it was supposed to do.

    Can you give us a name of the solution you used? I think the stuff you used is safer than rubbing alcohol for the paint.

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson

      Hi Jay
      Both products were purchased from WeatherTech, the first bottle is the Prep and Tack solution. Basically on the bottle it says contains isopropyl alcohol 67-63-0 and on that same bottle it says it could be used as a minimal slip and tacking agent for the protection film.
      The Slip Solution bottle contains surfactants-I'm sure it's a combination of soap and water, it's probably just mixed with appropriate percentage of both.... Sure I could have used alcohol to prep the area and a soap and water mixture solution for the application, but I purchased the application kit because the bottles are made for what you need it for and they come with sprayers so I wouldn't have to try to buy the bottles somewhere and then do the solutions mix myself, I think it just made it easier.
      A few months ago I had a pair of pliers on my seat. I went to pick it up and it slipped out of my hand and fell on door sill ledge, because of the WeatherTech guards there was no mark.
      Someone a while back made a comment that you can juse 3M tape, not too sure if that tape is the same thickness as the WeatherTech guards. As of today January 15th 2022 my WeatherTech sill guards still look perfect no bubbles no peeling no nothing.

    Nice vid, but for weather techs prices, I use 3M in a roll and do it for a fraction of the cost and use J&J baby shampoo for slip solution.

      What about those door louvers? Do you use weather tech ?

  • @mct8888
    @mct8888 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Buy a roll of 3M clear film on Amzn and do the same thing for a sliver of the cost of anything WeatherTech.

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson
      @HowtowithPaulHenderson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It probably not the same thickness and wont hold up the same. but I don't know the specs so I can't say if it would or not hold up like the WeatherTech protection film.

      @@Whatthefuuchkeith WeatherTech didn't have the off the hood deflector, because of the new headlamp and hood redesign. Plus I needed the SWD's in matte black. So I bought them from where I bought truck and the hood guard.

    Are we doing sills or seals? You keep saying seal?

      I had a time getting that word to come out clear,,,, after I saw your comment I kept trying to say sill and seal and they both sound similar to me I don't know. It's one of the words I just have a hard time saying.....

    Not a very good idea that the person filming this event is way too far away from the action. Right? Better luck next time!

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson
      @HowtowithPaulHenderson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought it was pretty close, did you get a pretty good idea what to do. And that WeatherTech door sill protection seats really do work. I dropped a few things on the door sill and normally it would have took a chip out of the paint but I didn't.

    The weather tech floor mats for the Tundra crewmax are horrible. Wouldn't buy anything from them again

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson
      @HowtowithPaulHenderson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never had their floor liners but I always had there custom floor mats in all of my vehicles and the fit was perfect.
      For my new 2019 truck I had bought the factory GM floor liners which are very thick and lock in place and look great. ...

      @gatornation3889 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HowtowithPaulHenderson I had their floor liners in other vehicles and they were ok, however in the Toyota Tundra the passenger front mat just does not fit right. It slides everywhere, dirt gets under both driver and passenger mats

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson
      @HowtowithPaulHenderson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gatornation3889 Well that defeats the purpose of having floor liners. I do have some Weather Tech products I love, but glad I bought factory authorized floor liner from the dealership.
      I had replaced the WeatherTech Rear Underseat Storage System I had bought for my 2019 Silverado, because It would shift forward and also took up to much floor space because of the design of the front kick panel.
      So I bought the HUSKY Storage System that fits perfect and is locks in place and I get no less then 2 more inches of floor space the the WT box and a tad bit more storage space.
      I guess they didn't test is out both the products in the real world with average people using them before they put them into production.

    • @gatornation3889
      @gatornation3889 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HowtowithPaulHenderson that's my opinion as well with the front floor Liners, no testing. I just ordered the husky exact fit liners for the front. Thank you for taking the time to help an old man in Florida out. Be safe my friend.

    • @HowtowithPaulHenderson
      @HowtowithPaulHenderson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gatornation3889yes, that sucks. I wish there would have been a review on the WeatherTech storage box when I had bought it, but that was the only one that was available at the time and then husky came out with their own later. I gave the WeatherTech box to my nephew, he's happy with it so at least it didn't go to waste... You should check out the weathertech bump step I highly recommend it. I do a video on the installation of that. They do have some really good products...
