    Wow, this video is incredibly well put together... good job! I am static line qualified... but this (free fall) is just INSANE!! I was reading some of the other comments... (frown!). No need to argue... just remember that we are (all service branches, regardless of MOS, etc) are all on the same team and we are all brothers and sisters in the end... It is all of us vs. the bad guys!!

    just pure brilliance... these guys got guts.... who would of thought of jumping out of a perfect plane :D awesome vid... 5/5 This takes someone who is fearless and has the toughness of an ox... Thanks to all who give their lives to serve and protect the USA!!! Godbless em, and GODSPEED

    @MrFlavorcrayon : The area where the free fall school is the Otay Mountain Range near the US/Mexican border. I work near by and I see them jump. The actual school is of Otay Lakes Rd mile marker 7. There is a civilian school and also the Navy FF school at the same location. I think some of their instructors are civilians with thousands of jumps under their belts.

    You are very right,I had a 'Bail Out' bottle as well as special cold weather gear for my jump.however we do lower altitude jumps for practice.the video LOOKS like it was shot in Yuma.there was another comment posted a comment on the planes being jumped from were civilian planes.I find that rather odd myself,if only that I jumped frm. C-130's.of course that was in 1993.thanks for the reply..if your in the army try and apply for Ranger school,we need more good guy's like you out there.

    @JavierMen5 It is a HALO jump. Anything involving freefall (not a stand off (HAHO), is considered a Halo.

    @MrFlavorcrayon Navy FF school is in San Diego. Civilians jump at the same DZ also. Its one of my favorite DZ's to visit.

    I didn't know the Navy had their own HALO program(?)I jumped with a few out in Yuma and have met others that went there and to Bragg...I to am a former Ranger with HALO wings.however I earned them while going through Pathfinder school.although the program did't require it I was offered a slot and took it.

    Well hand signals are used to communicate in the air, since you cant hear a voice in the air, and probably the videos on youtube are training videos thats why there are so much hand signals because they dont film on operations thats because Special Forces usually HALO drop.

  • @MrScaryplayer
    @MrScaryplayer 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @EIIBipolarpig
    It depends on the altitude there jumping off.
    HALO doesn't mean that they have to wear oxygen but that they jump high and open low.

  • @javery1313
    @javery1313 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow. I can't believe some of the people commenting aren't even familiar with Air Force Pararescue. Everyone keeps talking about Rangers, Marines and Seals. But seriously give respect where it is do. Pararescuemen are among the elite of the U.S. Military.

    Maybe I should note more that My response was more rhetorical then questions. I'm no noob when it comes to methods of insertion, SF troops, HALO, HAHO, Static insertion or rope a doping it in. All SF are Airborne. I was reacting to the lack understanding that was being posted. Thanks for the reply though.

    @ChristopherJManess // Thanks for your comment. What I meant was, all us us (servicemembers) vs the bad guys (all the folks whom we are fighting in this "war on terror"), etc. I serve my country proudly, and those who "bad guys" are the ones who have caused casualties (of our fellow service members). Aloha!

    HALO jumps are above 25,000 ft, it does require oxygen mask..so for some of you out there who don't know this is not a HALO jump, this is just a free fall jump.

    Marines can do HALO military freefall training any branch of the military can althogh its hard to get into

  • @sharp357
    @sharp357 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sadly the movies have too many people misunderstanding HALO. What you see on the big screen is mostly fiction. The military definition of HALO and HAHO is quite different. If you don't do it for a living, ask someone who does.

  • @Champion_06
    @Champion_06 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    You don't even have to be in Special Forces. Just in a JSOC unit that does RSTA

  • @radioahole
    @radioahole 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually my comment about paratroopers was a rhetorical question.
    As for the radar comments that have been made. I believe they are asinine. A jumper cannot be detected because they are too small in weight and size. If they opened low because of radar what about when they originally jump out of the aircraft? Or how about HAHO jumps? We're talking less then 400 lbs with all equipment and smaller then a UAV. Except some of the super small UAVs.

  • @Ocelot429
    @Ocelot429 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not really sure. But A HALO Jump is good enough for me i mean the jumpers arent detected by enemy radars when doing a HALO jump

Regardless... we are all here on TH-cam having a good time watching these motivating videos... this free fall video rocks and it really makes me want to do it; though I imagine it is 100 X scarier than a static line jump!

    ok first of all your being ignorant marines do have mos if you go on the website and request information you get sent a booklet that summs up what there is to being a marine and it includes different MOS for enlisted Marines such as combat arms,enlisted aviation,combat service support,computers/communications/intelligence/electronics,and also the marine reserve so i support you for joining the army but you did not join the Marine Corps so you would not know much about the Marine Corps
