    *Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*

    The rotor is made of a short strand graphite, plastic composite.(loosely termed graphite by various manufacturers) And ya, at first I was wonder why they didn't incorporate a bearing in the line roller, but considering the price and intended use, I am happy with their decision on that. The roller bearing is always the first thing that goes and causes problems.

      @LordMySavYa i was hoping for that aswell, but if your going for big game that would make sense like 150lbs and over. But if you think of it the BG 4000 is enouph on drag because fish don't pull more that 15 pounds of drag unless there over 60 pounds. On my BG 5000 I had an 80 pound Batray on the line took me 20min to bring it in.........it was about 4 feet wide 3 feet long just the torsal. Even then I didn't use the drag that much because I had 25lbs mano line and a Ugly stik.....worked like a work horse....so in the end there just numbers of drag we won't ever use 1% of the time

    on the 4500, what pound braid do you use? And if I used 10 lb braid, how many yards would it hold? Thanks

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The BG 4500 I'm not sure how much it would hold for 10 lbs braid I would imagine a serious amount of line giving the fact it is an even larger spool. My guess would be 600 yards or more for a 10 pound braid. I use 30lbs braid for the BG 4000 and can hold more than 300 yards and 20lbs braid would also hold over 300 yards...I'm guessing that right now I'm at work or else I would give you a more accurate amount...the BG 5000 I used to use 50lbs braid but found it's too much work for the fact it hold water and creates more drag on the eye rings of the rod so I stuck with 25lbs on mano on BG 5000

    Have a penn batalliaon 10ft, and need a reel. Cant decide on a 4000, 4500, or a 5000 bg. Want to fish off Florida piers and cape cod canal. Cant decide on reel size and lbs line test braided....???
    The bg5000 takes 360 yards of 50lbs braid yet a roll only has 300 yards. So do i need a 500 yard roll? What a waste. Thx y'all

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you can do is add Mano backing ofnyour spool for 50 to 100 yards....if I remember correctly 50 pound braid depends on the type of thickness of the braid is.....I never had a problem not filling the spool out from my BG 5000. I THINK back then I was using spider wire 50lbs braid...maybe thus will help your choice of braidnthat will fill your spool

    I will be on the sea fishing off a canoe (Philippines). I'm trying to decide what to buy. I will be jigging, trolling, & casting. What would you prefer for a rod length? (trying to decide between a 6 ft or 7 ft). & maybe a 4000 BG reel

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I was on a canoe shorter rods are much better that longer rods...easier to work with and less difficult to bring in fish on the boat...the longer a rod is the more difficult to land a fish with a net being further from you holding a long 7 or 8 foot rod. If your deep-sea fishing straight down....I'd recommend a short rod six or so with a BG 5000 for it fast line retrieve 47 inches that is extremely fast....but if your casting off a boat like a canoe...7 feet with a BG 4000 will be just perfect 30lbs J-braid 8x...for the BG 5000 25pound Mano P-line CX FOR DEEP sea fishing.

  • @Liinglingg
    @Liinglingg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    what size line is on the bg4000? i added 12lb P line but sometimes would come off the spool almost like it’s too big or too much when reality it’s not.

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might have over spooled...your line 12lbs mano should be just fine. I personally used to use 30lbs J-braid but changed to 20lbs braid instead do to the fact I can cast much much further with much less effort. So to answer your question 12lbs mano is perfect just dont over fill your spool or dont lay your mano line too tight aswell two reasons why you line may unspool itself...15lbs 20lbs 30lbs J-Braid will work just as great...Happy fishing!😃😃

    Right on for the vids bro. I'm just starting out with saltwater fishing and decided to get the BG5000 partly due to your vids/reviews. You're making me want to buy a 4000 in addition to my 5000 even though I haven't even used the 5000 yet...lol. Do you do any fishing off the rocks or the cliffs? Would like to know your opinions on rods, reels, ... etc. (SUBSCRIBED)

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes off the cliff I catfish like 50 feet down before my line hits the water. BG 5000 is your best choice for that because of the speed you need and strength to haul up big Cats....I use 25lbs Mano called P-line CX Moss green very very strong and soft yet awsome abrasion resistance. If your thinking of getting a BG 4000 I'd say yes because you need two different styles of fishing like casting jigging and also speed if your in the Oceania freshwater. As far as rods go I learned fishing off the rocks is best for a long rod like 11ft but light and strong. I find the long rods helped me a great deal getting around other rocks and dont have to reach over to untangle somewhere if my line gets caught...Rod I used for my bg 5000 is called Sealine Surf 11ft MH from Amazon And for the 4000 was an Okuma SST medium action 10 1/2 foot. The BG 4000 I use J-braid 8 for strength stelth....and speed 30lbs it's also last FOREVER. So choosing the rods all depends on your needs and style of fishing these two rods and reels is my style. Hope all this info helps😃😃

    Hi Great video, I am undecided between the 6500 and the 5000, it's for the shimano STC EXage HD think its 9or 10 ft..I am leaning toward the 5000 , looking to fish for 40lb sea game +-

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      calvin crane is go for the 5000 BG has plenty of power its the perfect size for all demands and conditions. Very fast line retrieve 47inch per turn you can put 40lbs braid for 480 yards or 60lbs for 310 yards....personally I use both 50lbd J-braid on one 5000...and the other 25 mano P-line CX Moss green all 300 yards do to it small diameter....22lb of drag ,if you go with the 6500bg the number are slightly higher 33 in drag and line retrieve about 49inches....line capacity 50lbs braid 550 yards. To me the 5000 is perfect balance of both worlds not too big not too small...not so heavy or light has plenty of horse power 😀😀 A GREAT Over ALL Reel

      I am sold thank you for helping confirm my mind.
      I am struggling to find any spare spools for sale! I am sensing that it might be almost as cheap to buy a different BG - then the spools to a degree are interchangeable I hear? My issue is that I might at times be near reef or rocks or bridge. So braid I am advised against. I am wanting a fluoro leeder. But read that you use the P Line which seems mono coated? I may well fit 30lb mono to the whole spool with a fluoro leeder of 20 - 30 - 40- 50 as you may gather I am quite new to this. I am heading to Cayo Guillermo in Cuba and the fishing is varied. Thank you very much for your videos.

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      calvin crane yes the P-lime CX IS floro Carbon Coated very soft but at the same time very abrasion resistant and last FOREVER. This P-line Cx is very strong BY far favorite mano line......if you want something even stronger but has a greater Diameter because P-lime CX goes only up 25lbs....So they made P-line CXX. UP to 40lbs mano its stiffer line but built to take on a tank lol. And as far as a spare spool....Id say just BUY Second BG 5000 like I did so you can decide what style of fishing you'll used for that day. I bought On EBAY and Amazon 75$ for one and 82$ for the other. You'll save a lot more money if you keep watching who's will to sell cheaper....the waiting game lol just a thought but ENJOY YOU NEW BG!

    What the size comparison between the bg4000 And the 5000?

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 4000 BG 39inch linen retrieve the 5000 BG 47.3 inch line retrieve
      4000 BG is 14.3 oz
      5000 BG is 22.6 oz
      On one note the line roller is much larger in the 5000 and will handle heavy drag for a much longer time due to the inner collars or white bushings 2 off.....
      The 4000 line roller is much smaller there are 2 but different sizes in the same line roller assembly. Both are butter smooth both are very strong both have a small base to screw on to any rod of your choice. These specs I feel make the difference in your needs and style of fishing. Hope this helps 😀

    • @israelvibrations100

      m al I use two to 3 type most common is the 10 1/2ft medium action Okuma SST 2 piece. Works both good for casting and baiting. It's very light. The other two is for heavy conditions high waves harsh winds...and deep water 10 1/2 ft Ugly Stik Medium Action and the Cendros 11ft....heavy action

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      m al forgot to mention the other one is Also a Diawa SeaLine Surf Light Action 12ft......but I purposely cut the tip and use the Second I ring as the tip....make it more stiffer so it can handle 5oz....either way if you use it that way with 5oz...the 4inches of the tip will break....so I perposly break off the first Eye ring

  • @caranx89
    @caranx89 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    ok!, I only used shimano!(stradic5000fa and ultegra xsa for 10years!, and old ultegra pg8000).
    But now I need big 30-33oz polyvalent reel for coast (surfcasting and bait) and kayak (trolling and bait to 200-350feet deep), candidates: bg8000, lethal100, spinfisher8500 or spheros20k....it is almost indifferent low/fast ratio(do little jigging and popping.)
    Have you tested any of these others?....then, a medium 22-25oz maybe this bg5000 or spheros10k

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      caranx89 yes Iv used the StradicFa.. Okuma 6000...The BG 8000...PEnn 1&2 8000,7000,6000,4000. A fiew other Shimanos, one Sahara, Pflugers 5000s, Shakespeare's all only 4000s,....some Abu Garcia, from what it looks like you need a reel that has serious line capacity would be the BG 6500 & 8000, I used 100lb J-braid and was able to spool all 300 but I'm sure if all you need is 80lb Braid 440yrds or 65lb braid 590 yards. If fishing that deep the BG 8000 has a Line retrieve of 53.3inches....witch is insane the BG 6500 has 48.7 ,I would deffinaty need that if I was fishing that deep in the ocean or else is be reeling in fish FOREVER😆 if they were lower witch many are crazy lower in line retrieve. I do love Shimano but most and always are way over priced. My point here was the Durability, the Versatility and the Price$$ At 86$ to 105$. I baught mine at 86$ on Amazone&EBay. The Slammers, Shimano are priced at 230 to 260$ ...189$ depending on what series to many to mention so I finally found a Reel that is perfectly priced(Low,Low) and has every versatility I was looking for, This what I found, Torque Huge main gear powers your fish in, Very Large spool to Add all the line you need you can switch from 400 yrds of Braid or a larger Mano on a smaller BG reel vice versa. The Air Rotor is very light my hands don't fatigue when handling fish all day by using a larger reel. Speed, to me time is fishing and fishing is time the faster I bring the fish in the Sooner I can make my next cast to hit the same spot and STRIKE AGAIN!🤓🤓and the Sooner I can find a new spot while they (fish) are on the move. Speed matter here and time no other reel has that feature for BG size and speed. It tough no flexing on these reels ,to use 5oz 8oz and 12oz weights you need a reel that does not flex so your reel will last.These are my two cents why I stick now with DIAWA😀😀😀 of course if price is not an option for you i would get the Daiwa Dogfight Saltiga Reel or the Catalina run up 500$ to 1200$😊😊😊

But what I did is cut the tip off about 4 inches to the next eye ring from the tip. I am now able to put 6 to 8 oz on that rod with perfect sensitivity. Just buy the kit with a new tip. Works GREAT! • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@flyingash that's a tough one to decide because trolling you dont need a heavy action rod or on the surf,aswell as for catfishing...somewhere in the middle I would think for 4500 BG 8 foot rod medium action not heavy or light because the 4500 is more of a heavy duty reel. On the Surf or Surf fishing 8 foot is not tall enouph for casting or baiting but good enouph for jigging. But all in all medium action is where you need to be and anywhere from 8 to 10 on length. I dont jig much but In fresh water 7foot is perfect for jigging fasting action larg mouth bass trout crappie blue gill but with a reel 4000. 4500 everything goes up in specs, action,rod length,line thickness and yards of line. Hopefully these specs give you an better idea for using a 4500 GB 43.1 line retrieve FAST 14lbs mano 350yds 40lbs j-braid 340 yards reel weight 22oz

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reeling N' Revving no not at all the 4000 is very versatile having a larger spool compared to other same size spinning reels that are also 4000....but witch hold about 60 to 80 to 100 Yards less compared to Daiwa BG'S . Today I caught a 15 pound Sting Ray on my BG 4000. Took a while to bring him in had 20lb J-braid and 5oz weight. Arms were sore. So use 20lb for casting and 30lb braid for baiting....if you prefer Mano and want to use 25lb Mano a better fit for that line diameter would be BG 5000. You could put 15lb mano you'll hv about 200yrds.....i never tried put 20lb mano...but I would think it would hold up 160yrs. So let me know what you prefer braid or mano?🤔🤔

    • @israelvibrations100
      @israelvibrations100  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on your style of fishing how much line you need how far you cast line test speed and strength or fight for the fish....and weather and structure conditions....if your a caster or jig....10foot rod medium light action BG 3500 would be a good choice much lighter than the 4000. But if your surf fishing like baiting like I am on this video the 4500 would be a better choice...but I would choose the 5000 over the 4500 because there almost the same weight and speed so if I'm almost there I might aswell aim for a forever reel BG 5000. Thanks sounds like 3500 for boat and 5000 for surf but you're using 4000 for surf that's why I asked my 3500 is kinda small probably not good for surf

      @@nygardenguru the BG 4000 is normally used for jigging....I always have two different size rod and reel to adapt to all changing waves and weather conditions. I jig with the 4000...but most of the time I need to bait with the same reel with more finesse and rod...because Surf perch Calico Perch are delicate and sensitive to bite. I have been planning on buying a a 3000 or 3500 just for jigging Only and yes the 3500 seems small for the surf but perch are close to the shore no need to cast far....I'm still planning on reviewing the BG 3000 OR 3500. The BG 4000 can handle these condition like on this video that's why it's an over caster and baiter.
