- More amazing Thomas and Friends toys, Classic Thomas The Tank Tomy playset and loads of other toy trains. You will see Tomy Tomica set 7409 Talk N Action magic rail set. This large early styled Thomas & Friends playset has a specially designed Thomas that reads areas of track to have very special abilities. Then from a bag deploys a Tomy Big Loader set that in very good condition. Thomas, Percy and Terrance feature on this classic toy, yet confusion and delay can start to happen when things start to go wrong. Next is a classic Tomy James push along that's seen better days and then we move into Thomas Wooden Railway toys. A all metal wooded James is first but he's suffered a huge amount of damage via a leaking battery. I show how to quickly get this style of problem fixed so James can steam again. I also look over other wooden railway styled powered trains, nice to see some basic Brio trains. Moving to the more classic wooden railway we look over Henry, Mavis, Annie, Thomas The Tank and Alfie. As always in these collecting videos a the check out Thomas toys are seen and this time it's 2 Clarabels. A wild card knockoff Thomas toy is also caught up in the collection and goes straight to the bin. Very nice to see some Tomy Playrail via Spencer and a mystery tender. And then a look over some Take Along's via James, Elizabeth and assorted later rolling stock from the Take N Play era. Next is some Tomy rolling stock thats a reminder how nice the faces were on these trains and we also see a Trackmaster Percy thats in good condition. My huge Percy collection will be given away very soon...so be warned!
ABOUT GNOMY TRAINS & GIVEAWAY
Last comes a really special box of amazing toy trains that cost me $10 at a local fair. These trains are Lehmann Friction Motor GNOMY toy trains. They are made in West Germany and to me look like miniature LGB G Scale trains. It's the first time I have seen this style of toy train so I had to do a little bit of research online to understand more. The scary part was the prices this GNOMY train can pull on e-bay. I see on TH-cam people converting these GNOMY trains and trams to be powered units, they are very similar in scale to Trackmaster and work best on Thomas Trackmaster 2 track..SHOCK HORROR. I think these trains are from the mid 90's but to be honest I don't really know. One thing I do know is someone on TH-cam will prove to me they collect this toy train.
If you're a collector of these stunning GNOMY trains and have videos (not stills) of your collection on your youtube channel please send the video through as a link in a comment of this video. It will be seen as spam but I will look at the video and approve it so you can be considered as a person who can have my box of GNOMY goodness. I will be fairly picky to who gets this box of trains and trams, but I feel it needs to go to a dedicated collector who has shown off their GNOMY trains on TH-cam. It may take quite a few weeks before word gets around about this secret giveaway, I'm thinking by July 2015 I will choose a worthy winner if anyone is interested!

Someone who is into the mini LGB trains will get lucky in this hidden giveaway, but finding those who collect these expensive train and trams will take time. If you collect Gnomy just send a link of your video collection to this video in the comment area, spam filters will pull up the link but once I check it I will let it pass. Just saying you collect Gnomy or I used to have it won't land you these beautiful toy trains and trams.
leokimvideo I can confirm that those are licensed and made by LGB, as sort of a cheap litttle check out toy. The steam engines were based off their flagship model, the 0-4-0t Stainz locomotive, and I can only presume the truck was based off one of the early LGB toys from the 1930's.

***** I'm not sure, but the clicking no power problem is a fairly common one. I have a Duck, Hank, and few Thomas's and Percy who do not work. I know there are others who have done videos covering these styles of trains, I just need to make sure I show something fresh.

Ah the Early Learning Centre is a British children's toy store. I used to get all my wooden Thomas stuff there back when I was young. Apparently they're owned by Mothercare these days which I didn't know. I know that ELC isn't a worldwide brand but I'm not sure about Mothercare.
I have got a load of battery powered 'wooded' Thomas' knocking about the place. When I go through all my Wooden railway stuff I may have to consult you, Leo, on whether some of them can be repaired or not.

I have one of those no detail brakevans and I put a face on it.
I have noticed a lot of the smaller merchandise of Thomas and Friends have amazing detailing for their size, compared to a lot of the larger models. It puzzles me, why that might be the case. Such as those Wind-ups and the check out models... even like today's Minis range, Take n Play can also be placed in that category, they have superb detailing. Considering it would be easier for the larger models to carry the detailing room and potential. I wasn't a fan of the Tomy/TrackMaster range because of detailing aspects, it just seemed too plain for my liking but it's good to see that Mattel are making an effort to bring more detailing to the newer TrackMaster 2 and larger models being released as well as the smaller ranges :)

I have a Henry wind up similar in style to that Thomas you showed in the video. Same oddly pointy buffers, and an amazing Henry face. Classic look. Shame more toys couldn't have had those faces..
Also, the LGBT-like mini trains are so cute! Shame they don't work quite so well on the other track, but it is nice to see them chugging along, making that whirring noise..
Those trolleys are insanely powerful! Are the 'steamies' heavier than those trolleys? I wonder if that effects their pulling power, as well as age of course.

There is also a talking tomy Diesel 10, but he the rarest out of the range as far as I know. Probably because he is so cool (he has a fully posable claw! Amazing!)

That damaged little blue engine was from a chain of shops we have in the UK called Early Learning Centre. They are well known for making there own brands as well as stocking known brands like wooden Thomas. I guess they made some imitation Brio at some point! Those mini LGB like trains almost gave me a heart attack! When I was just a kid we went on holiday to Austria and in a little toy shop they were selling those trains. I wanted one so much but never did, it was a real blast from the past to see them again!

Awesome video! Seeing all those old Thomas products reminds me of my childhood where the Thomas toys were golden value. I know the Mattel company is trying there best to bring back the golden era but in my opinion they just need to take another step forward by forcing more on the physical testing than the detailing, if you know what I mean. An interesting thing about the early Trackmaster Percy is that they built him all together where the Tomy one, they built him in two parts, which is why he has the crease in the middle :)

I had that Tomy Thomas set you showed at the beginning. The Thomas ripped off of annie unfortunately I still have the annie in my basement somewhere :P As soon as I saw the set in this video. Memories came flying back! Great video.

Wow, an awesome lineup you pulled there. If you have any working Thomas's, you may want to take it apart and take out the driving wheel. And then take the driving wheel out of the Talking Thomas and swap the two around. It SHOULD work. Also, you know the wave 2 of the minis? I loved the Mix n' Match feature you did with wave one, will that happen again? Also, you will love the Robo versions of Henry, Charlie, Edward and Millie
Talking Thomas has a cracked drive gear on the axle.
Ucwepn do you know how to fix that problem? I have a trackmaster classic Stanley that has this issue, but unlike Leo's, it does work but when I apply any sort of risitance, including hills, it just stops the wheels all together.

The same thing happened to my track master Arthur. So your tomy talking Thomas has a slipping axle gear I know how to fix that. I have done the same thing with my trackmaster Toby.

I loved the mini LGB trains had many as a child, lost all of them when my grandma got rid of them. I did just as you said by putting Lego figures in them.
You got a the rare little LGB Gnomy Blue Steam locomotive. At least over here in the United States I have only seen one on EBay in the last year.

BENTlego Wooden It's a fantastic toy, I remember these being sold in Oz but I have not seen them for some time now
I've had a few of those Lehmann Trains over the years, though I was only able to get one working engine, a few freight cars, and the non-powered tram. I think they are cool and all, but someday I might give myself a challenge and, well, (Model trains fans will know what I'm talking about) try to configure them over to HOn3 scale. Might be a bit of a challenge, definitely a good wheel replacing, but hey, maybe someday when I learn better train modelling tactics.
My nanney and grandad have it for me when I go the best thing was that it came with some ertal trains!
Funny how right now. I collect and have figured out a solution to fix the slipping gear issues. If you still have the talk n action thomas then this method I've learned will most definitely work.
Thankfully we now live in an age where if spend a little extra cash, you don’t have to worry as much about batteries that leak. The energizer ultimate lithium’s last a really long time, and don’t suffer from the same corroding problems alkaline batteries have. I’ve had several over the years that have lasted ages, and never leaked… while I’ve had many akalines that start corroding after just a few months or even less. I’ve found the energizer ultimate lithiums really work well with Thomas trains.

The problem (though you probably already knew) with the Talk ‘n’ Action Thomas that you got was that it had so much Thomas love that the gears were stripped and don’t work.

The talk n action / normal engines usually have slipping gear fails that is usually what happens most of the time when played with.

Ffarquhar station is the last station on Thomas' Branchline. Looks like that Talk n Action Thomas has got the same problem that Percy had in the video where you showed the Merit Thomas. That little wind up Thomas that you like is an ERTL wind up. The tender with wind up Spencer belongs to Murdoch. Almost all of the wooden railway trains show "2003" because the factory used the same wheels every time. Your Check Out Thomases really are called "Limited Edition Collection". Those little black generic carriages are also TOMY. One of them came with TOMY James. The way I identify a Take Along is the tender engines had buffers where the tender is attached, whereas the Take N Play doesn't. Mind you nowadays Take N Plays don't have buffers at all!
Talk n action Thomas has not fixed and shake and dance and jump and another Talk n action Thomas will repiared.

hi leo, i had a talking thomas tomy set as a kid, gave it away to a family friend a long time ago, might want to check the main gear on the wheel axle, it seems to be slipping in the footage. and sitting on a big crate worth of those little wind up capsulated trains, not sure what to do with them... but the tender is murdoch's and the capsule versions have a small lead weight glued in the back that gives it adhesion.

Thomasbrainline. Productions I remember seeing that at a toy shop in Jasper that closed just recently. I forgot the name of the toy store, but they had Thomas Wooden Railway, and well as the Canadian National grain car, caboose, boxcar, and a locomotive.
I have the gnomy power tram.....my mother bought it for me when she was at a Disney German festival....we also got another train that remains in it a box.....even though bits only random....those locomotives along with the teams remind me of the old tramways....my tram never had any other pieces...and there was no track system.....I keep it in a display of my railway collectables

Leo i bought a few of the Lehmann Gnomy trains and rolling stock when i was in Devon as a child (maybe 4-5). Unfortunately some of the trains became damaged and the motors no longer work. I managed to repair one. I have the steam train in both blue and green, the tram, the carriage and the brown wagon. I seem to remember having the red tipper but cant find it anywhere. I have been searching everywhere on the internet for them but never managed to find any
