- Mystery Thomas The Tank toys and great examples of some classic Thomas toys. The 1990's was a great time for Thomas And Friends toys. Highlights include the beautiful Bellbird Thomas playset featuring Thomas, Percy and Bulstrode. This small toy has tons of Sodor feel and small details that you don't see on the Thomas toys of today. There is also another large Tomy Thomas from the classic Tomy blue track playset. This is my 4th large Tomy Thomas. Golden Bear Thomas toys are curious toys for younger thomas fans. They lack important details but have good faces and shape. Always curious to find toys that have had little or no play (Thomas Love). There are lots more toys in this Thomas collection video and I find it always interesting to see the differences in toys I have already looked over. A perfect example is the beautiful Tomy Fat Controllers Car. My first car is beige and yellow yet this second car is white and yellow. Also this toy car is rendered yellow and thats strange because the Fat Controllers car is blue. It seems that some toy makers took the liberty to drop blue and do the car in yellow. I know my Thomas audience will fill in the gaps and questions on this toy review video. As a special treat I take a look into the deadly Redback spider home to see the hundreds of cute deadly spiderlings. This is at the week 9 and there are lots more spider eggs to hatch.

The reason why the crane on the Bluebird playset wasn't Cranky as the toy was made in 1996 before Cranky was introduced. He wasn't introduced until 1998.
This video may look different because I have changed my lighting to all LED globes. The old lighting system was up for 10 years and it's time to get something more modern. Sorry if the change affects the video. It may take a few videos to get the lights and exposure settings right. If you want I will do a video about my new lights and whats the difference between it and the previous lights. My new system is cheap and cheerful using easy to get LED bulbs that don't do any flicker.

The core of my failed channel is looking at toys. I can't be a 24/7 spider channel because that would totally destroy my already failing channel. I know looking at the spiders has had a very negative effect on my core audience. 2016 was one of the worst years I have had on this site. Maybe I need to spam tag #minions #pepapig #disney #playdoh in every video to survive. But hey maybe TH-cam is in it's final years. Facebook video seems to be the video site thats taking over.
Can't you set up a separate channel for things like the spider tank. I think you have two distinct audiences. merry Christmas
I'm not sure if you understand how draining it is just running one channel on this site. So many TH-camrs fail by starting a second channel. I use playlists to arrange similar videos together. Sorry I if I failed you. I will try to pick up my game in 2017 if my channels survives after Christmas.

2:06 That wooden Thomas at the start intrigues me. As you said it's a very classic looking Thomas, even the whistle is the one from the first and second seasons which seems odd from a toy not even from the 'classic-era'. I do recognise it but I wouldn't know it's origin off the top of my head :l
5:20 That set is a very nice find. Really nice detailing on that for it's small scale. The omission of Cranky isn't an oversight on the designers part it's simply because the set pre dates Cranky by a couple of years. Cranky didn't appear until the fifth season in 1998.
Perhaps the reason the Gordon looks so pristine is because Gordon wasn't a very popular character in the house he came from? I don't know that for sure but I guess I never must've liked Gordon very much as a kid as I've only ever had one toy of him! Even now only the Brio Gordon from my childhood alongside the surprise egg Gordon from yourself make up my collection of Gordons!

12:04 I believe the Fat Controller's car was yellow for a time. I have a puzzle from 1996 which depicts it as yellow.
16:44 It's an odd Bulstrode face. It's certainly got elements of his face but it's obviously a homage rather than a recreation as Bulstrode only ever had 4 facemasks and not one of them was a happy face!
17:50 I'm rather partial to the ERTL Bulstrode (Then again I'm partial to most things ERTL!) but the Bluebird model is another very nice rendition of the character. I will say though I liked the different face on the Mattel one, it's nice to see a model of Bulstrode without his famous shocked face. Even his model in Drayton Manor had that face!
I saw your comment about the lighting btw. I did notice a difference but it's a positive change. Makes things look a lot brighter and less dull. :)
2008 when that strange large Wooden Thomas is a fantastic last amazing Thomas toy. 2009 brings in huge changes that we are still dealing with today.
The reason why there's no Cranky in that Bluebird set is because Cranky didn't exist at the time.

Very nice pickups, man! I very recently got a My First Thomas/GoldenBear Percy myself for $2 USD at an antique shop. Has the names of two girls on the back but otherwise, it's practically perfect! They also had a very worn MightyMac and a decent condition Diesel 10 from wooden railway, as well as a Thomas Christmas Party Video Treasures VHS. The MFT trains are quite amusing to me. Probably because of the simple design
wow that Bluebird Playset takes me back: I used to have one when I was really, really little. I think mine came with a troublesome truck (which I summarily lost) and annie and clarabel...or at least one of the two.

The bluebird crane isn't cranky because he first appeared in season five, and that was 1997-1998 this set was 1996. But a good video!!

I have every single metal paper faced original models from the 80s/90s including all the carriages as well as the rarer ones. I think there are about a hundred. They were my favourite toys as a child and i took suck good care. Gordon was always my favourite as my Grandad also called gordon used to drive steam trains. The original Ringo Starr narrated TV show was my favourite show too. Happy memories, still nice to see it's still going!

I really love that Gordon golden bear! I am a pretty big fan of Gordon and I have: 2 minis, 1 talking take and play and 1 regular take and play, 1 Trackmaster, 1 wooden beginners, 1 regular 2002 wooden, and 1 pez Gordon. That Gordon would be as great addition!
That Gordon is in amazing condition. Sort of sad when toys don't show any Thomas love. Maybe it was a highly respected Gordon who was carefully looked after. Whatever happend it's a toy story mystery

I bought my own Bluebird Ertl Miniatures set on ebay. I got Thomas, Percy, and Annie. Missing the rest of the characters but not any of the pieces but a buffer. In perfect condition. I payed $12 plus $5 processing. The original one came with 7 characters. Sir Topham hatt, Percy, Thomas, Bulstrode, Annie, Clarabel, and Bertie. It also had a troublesome truck with a cargo, I have the box, it's in pretty good nick, if you are interested in the pictures let me know I would be more than willing to share them with you.

Hello leo. That miniature bluebird set does have Annie, Clarabell, a troublesome truck and Bertie. There are only 3 more sets in that series, however most have different gauges, there is a thomas set, a James set, and another set kind of like that

That big plastic Thomas you have reminds me a bit of my Starcastles, in the sense that they have had a lot of "love," as in missing and broken pieces. The plastic is a tad brittle as well. I still love them tho!

The spider tank has had me hooked since I seen it! I understand you have to do what you have to do with the channel. Just commenting to let you know you have fans on both sides. Toys and spiders. I can't really remember how many subs you had when I subscribed, but I remember watching videos in ( I think ) late 2012, of your children reacting to finding huntsmen spiders ect, I really love watching your spider videos and have since I first subscribed. When you started doing your more recent red back videos you had me intrigued, I was extremely interested about the way that they hide in warm nooks and where they hide ect, then you started making your spider home videos, they have been amazing, and it's always nice to be on sort of an adventure with you when your collecting/finding red backs, and when your finding food for them. I love your spider videos, but don't think I don't watch your other videos, your train Vlogs where extremely funny and so are your toy reviews. Recently when I was watering the garden I accidentally hit our fence, I wasn't worried until 2 huge red backs scuttled out, I was pretty horrified to know that just a little bit of water on a small section of fence made TWO red backs come out, I was worried there would be more and sure enough there was, nearly every part of the fence had red backs and I even saw 3 egg sacs! Your videos helped me as I learnt how to fire bomb them to end there cruel, evil reign over the garden. I did end up keeping a juvenile that I found on the clothesline to learn about how they develop, and to witness close up the things they get up to. So I had an idea, I know it's taking up a lot of your time, but is there any way you could make another channel just for spiders, insects ect? if you do this it would allow spider fans to watch your spider videos, and people who may want a new toy and need a legitimate review to watch videos here! thus cleaning up this channel and maybe even getting rid of some trolls too! I know this is a long comment but I just wanted to let you know, that your videos are awesome and everyday I look forward to more, wether it's you humorously vlogging trains with your kids, making reviews on all different types of cool, old, odd and fascinating toys or making intriguing videos on spiders and your prison/home, all your videos are awesome! After some research, I've found the answers for both of your questions. The Bluebird set also included Bertie, Annie, Clarabel and a truck with several different kinds of cargo. That odd Thomas was produced by a company called Danjam and the name of the toy is Big Buddy Thomas.
I know someone might of already told you about Danjam and the Bluebird set but honestly, I can't be bothered to go through 400 comments of poor English and there could be a chance that I'm the first one to tell you about this. Anyway, I hope I've answered your questions.

The mini world Thomas I remember from my younger days and I bought it in shops. You are missing Annie, Clarabel, Bertie, 1 Troublesome Truck and two or three "loads" for the crane to lift and load onto Bulstrode. Also the reason why Cranky isn't there is simply because this was released somewhere between Seasons 3 and 4, and not 5 which is where Cranky debuted, though if this set got a reboot and a redesign then I bet they would add Cranky in there.
Have not seen your videos in a long while, so I don't know if you had these but there were 2 mini sets even smaller than that that were supposed to be part of the line, one with James and Harold, the other with Thomas and Terence and were even smaller, and had sticker faces, plus James' tender didn't have a back coupling which bothered me.

I just got the Thomas Bluebell set. The set is supposed to have Annie, Clarabel, Bertie, and a troublesome truck with crates/drums. My set had no Fat Controller and the crane by the sheds hade no arm. I think that set is a classic set.
I love the collection update videos! That is a Bluebird miniature set, it originally came with some barrels for Bulstrode, some trucks for Thomas and Percy and Bertie. I have the same set, but mine does not have Bertie or the barrels. There was actually two variations of this set with slightly different layouts. I definitely prefer the Bluebird Bulstrode, however I have to say I have never come across the larger one in the UK. It does look like fun! The Minis are very mass produced and I think for the price you pay that is all you can expect.
I have quite a large collection of the Golden Bear models and I agree with you on the faces. They have a very different style to everything else, but their faces are always very good. That sound brings back memories!
The Golden Bear Thomas toys are quite curious to me. I now have many of them over the few years these toys have come my way. It's very much a toy that's based on a colour and shape idea with a good character face. Sure the wheels numbers are wrong and there are lots of important missing details but there is a charm with these toys thats lacking in todays early learning Thomas toys. Mattel's version of this toy has all the characters with very similar sized bodies and no separate tenders or track system. One thing that Mattel has done is make so many characters seem very similar. Thomas MINIS is a classic example of this, the new Trackmaster trains also exhibit this style of similar design to conform to a cheap and simple toy build. My Thomas collections most curious date is the change between 2008 to 2009. The toys after 2009 morph to simpler smaller toys. I feel the 90's was the great era for collecting Thomas toys.
leokimvideo I agree, I too have amassed quite a collection! I thought that as well, the newer versions just didn't work. I was really disappointed when they standardised the batteries of the Trackmaster engines. It has definitely resulted in the engines looking far more similar and far less like they look in the TV series and books. It is really frustrating the way everything is getting cheaper (to produce, not consume), it would be so refreshing to say "this is actually better than previous versions". I think there has always been a gradual decline, but yes it is most noticeable between 2008/09. I love the stuff from the 1980s, but the 1990s was better simply because there was more! In terms of quality and aesthetic 1990s > 2000s every time.

The third thomas in this video, the bluebird thomas, is a nice find but you are missing some parts as listed one of the trees on the hill, bertie, troublesome truck and crate, and annie and clarabel. Fun fact bluebird were going to make expansion to this playset, but, if i remember right they were bought out before they could make the expansion sets. Also if you want i can show you the toy i have the box.
I have found out something amazing! There is more than one character in the 1993 wind up Thomas range! I looked it up on ebay and they also made Bill, Ben, and James!

the small set is known as a bluebird and its missing annie, clarable, a troublesome truck and cargo, and the bathtime bulstrode came in a set with thomas and you can remove bulstrodes head and fill it up with water and turn it upside down and it will trickle out of his roof, and him and thomas came as a set. if you have anymore questions about both sets i am happy to answer them cause as a thomas collecter i am happy to help another collecter

Everybody probably said this, but the latest year you can find on a toy tells the year it was produced. So the big TOMY Thomas was actually from a year later, as it says 1997 above it.
Btw, the crane in the Bluebird set should be called Big Mickey, as the prop was re-used from TUGS :3

I used to bury myself in TUGS bts and storylines. I absolutely loved what the people behind the original series did in both the original season of TTTE and TUGS. Though I hated the music that was used most of TUGS. The same guy also wrote most of the music for all the seasons of Thomas AFTER TUGS, it's a real shame. I much prefer the original music.

Yeah, things get really messy in the next few weeks, lots of introduced spiders get the Redback death sentence. I think there is now around 14 egg sacs and only a few have opened up. It's the stuff of nightmares.

The spiderlings are eaten by the adult spiders like candy. Sweet little treats between other major kills. These girls are pure evil.

If your going to be a Redback the trick is to be female and just see everything as the enemy. The adult females are amazingly adapted to survival.

For the crane maybe it was because Cranky was introduced yet and I think bulstrode was introduced in season 4 but Cranky in season 5
