@johnyv1938 Woah, stop. That's a massive exagerration. 4 months of jail food is not even remotely comparable to getting the D.P., not even for someone young who hasn't done time yet. I did 10 years in Maximum Security starting when I was a 19 year old girl, for 1 degree homicide. I actually faced the D.P. briefly, but they decided not to pursue very quickly when all the history between my father (who was my "victim" in the case) and me/ my family came out. Thankfully, everything he did to us was Mitigating enough to reduce my sentence to 10 years, despite me using a metal bat for the deed. Trust me, even those couple weeks I WAS facing the D.P. were like no other fear on Earth. Then, as soon as I began my sentence, I got diagnosed with Stage 3 Heart Cancer, and wasn't expected to beat it. Took 2 years, and a miraculous recovery, but I did. I say all this to say, I've faced never coming home from prison in multiple ways. You cannot compare JAIL time, or Jail food, to that. Her court appointed attorney tried to save her, repeatedly i might add. 1. When he requested time served be counted and that she go to a treatment program instead of back to jail. Which she promptly pissed all over by saying she didn't need treatment. 2. When she went on about how she knows how to "work the system" he tried to save her yet again by cutting in 3. When the judge gave her ruling she started running her mouth yet again he did his best to save her from getting an ADDITIONAL 100 days via contempt of court. The ruling was already handed down. Yet she just keeps running her mouth asking that the ruling be changed. 4. Asking for a mental health evaluation "at a later date", might MAYBE be with another judge. Cuz she just ruined her chances of EVER getting leniency with this judge! You complain about her lawyer. Her lawyer is the only thing keeping her from doubling her sentence
This reminds me of a sentencing scene in a movie where the defendant cries to the judge, "Twenty years? I can't do twenty years!" The judge replies, "Just do what you can, son."
In the movie "Jersey Boys", Frankie Valli is facing prison time. His friends and lawyer ask for leniency because he is the headliner for a new music group and is "really really good". The judge replies, "He will be even better next year when he gets out".
No lawyer wants to defend a client that can’t do the most simplest of things to stay out of jail while already being given the privilege of probation. It’s also difficult to defend a client that can’t perform like an adult when questioned by prosecutors and the judge. 25 yet she’s behaving like a 13 year old.
I was homeless and addicted for a decade and the constant warrants. jail, warrants, jail was one of the things that raised my bottom and got me off of the street. The Judge not only did this woman a favor, but she may have saved her life. Literally!
Oh wow. Maturity is stunted by using, in her case, imo. She's 25 but acts 12 years old😮 I agree that going out there to "have fun" breaking probation rules is her goal.
Don't judge people based on their appearance there was this one girl at my school when I was in high school at first glance she looks like she's about 15 but she's actually a senior at age 18 a year older than me the reason for it was her height I got a family member who is short is pretty thin she was mistaken for being like 5 years younger than me but in reality she's 3 years older than me just saying don't base what you think someone ages is because how they look.
She’s saying she’s 25 years old but she’s acting like she’s 10. She really doesn’t make sense especially since she said she doesn’t need treatment , she only said it to avoid jail time, then when she heard she was going to jail she said she needs treatment. No wonder they’re going to check her mental health … wonder what they’re gonna find ?
she basically said "ill do the treatment because i have to not because i want to, i just want to go home" is definitely one way to get the judge to put you right in jail with no more questions asked XD and then after that she LITERALLY told them she asked for treatment just to get out of jailtime...... not the smartest tool in the shed is she? lmfao
One of the most important pieces of advice in my life that I received when I became an adult was, "Just play the game, bro. That's all ya gotta do. Just play the game".
Although I know 3 people who chose to stay in prison instead of parole to probation because they'd have a shorter time in prison and didn't want to be on it and 1 said he'd not go on probation because he knows he'd fail and end up doing more time. At least he was honest with himself.

I've seen this case before, but I was glad to have the opportunity to enjoy it again. It's wonderful to watch the defendant get caught up in her own deception.
It's hard for the judge to be sympathetic when it's obvious the defendant will say anything to get out. Meanwhile the public defender is tired of the nonsense, and just wants to bill the state for his wasted time.
My father used to get out of jail time by going to treatment, but he ran away from rehab because he realized he was better off in jail, because he could get the drugs he wanted in there 🤦♀️
She got 180 days because she’s guilty not because she told the truth. She got a bit because she thought she was smarter than everyone else in the room too.
Not necessarily. She probably figured it is easy to follow a program when she is inside but harder when she was on probation because the old temptation was still there. She's probably completed the program several times although it might help to understand her case if we had more context. It's like being in hospital. You have all the treatment available to you but when you leave hospital that help isn't immediately at hand and you have to get used to doing things for yourself again. It's possible she has been easily influenced by people her whole life and now she realises that it's time she took control of her own destiny. In-a-way, maybe that's what being in jail has taught her. Judges must have their heads squarely jammed up their own backsides if they think any addict who agrees to the program isn't doing so simply to reduce jail time.
If you are doing anything over 12 months, and you got the option to do state, or county time, do your time up state, it’s much better trust me. Your time goes much faster in state prison. County jails are horrible.

She can’t do 130 days? Why not? No job no life no addiction? Sounds like a lovely break for her parents!

4 months of jail food is like getting the death penalty. Unless she gets money on her books, I would take the treatment
The food is absolutely horrible, and bad for your health, but it isn't a D.P., especially not for 4 months. That 130 days will be over before she can blink, and she'll wonder how it felt so long in the first place. She asked for it, anyways.
She probably looked forward to the strip search

1. When he requested time served be counted and that she go to a treatment program instead of back to jail.
Which she promptly pissed all over by saying she didn't need treatment.
2. When she went on about how she knows how to "work the system" he tried to save her yet again by cutting in

Some POs make it feel like a trap so I ended up doing time rather than play their game
