Hill Aerospace Museum is a military aviation museum located at Hill Air Force Base in Roy, Utah. It is dedicated to the history of the base and aviation in Utah.
    History
Preparations for a museum began in 1984, when ground was broken on an "Aerospace Park and Museum".[3][a] The museum itself opened in 1987 in a World War II warehouse. In 1991, a new 9,600 sq ft (890 m2) administration building and 36,000 sq ft (3,300 m2) hangar were dedicated.[5]
The museum recovered a number of aircraft wrecks, including a B-24, B-26, P-38, and P-40 from Alaska in the mid-1990s.[6][7][8][9][b]
In 1996, the museum became the home of the Utah Aviation Hall of Fame.[11] In 1997, it was alleged that seven years prior a number of artifacts and a C-131 were removed from the museum without authorization.[12]
The museum grew again in 1999, when a second display hangar was opened as the Lindquist-Stewart Fighter Gallery.[5] A mezzanine was added to the first hangar, now renamed the Hadley Gallery, the following year.[13][5] An exhibit about Women Airforce Service Pilots was opened in 2004.[14]
In 2014, the museum announced it would be removing 18 aircraft from its collection.[15] Large scale repainting of the exterior display aircraft took place in 2015, with 5 airplanes and 2 missiles being affected.[16] For the twentieth anniversary of its opening in 2016, the Utah Aviation Hall of Fame was renovated.[17]
The museum completed the conversion of a C-130 fuselage into a classroom in 2019.[18][19][20] The museum embarked on expansion in 2021, building a new restoration facility and receiving $12 million from the state for the construction of a third hangar.[21][22] At the same time, it was forced to announce plans to demolish its World War II barracks as it was too deteriorated to repair.[23] Ground was broken for the expansion in October 2022.[24]
The museum is also home to the Marc C. Reynolds Aerospace Center for Education, which is located inside a C-130 fuselage.[25]
In addition to its collection of aircraft, the museum also houses the Major General Rex A. Hadley Research Library and Archives, which contains technical and historical information related to the aircraft on display.[26]
Also onsite is the Col. Nathan H. Mazer Memorial Chapel.[27]

@@enthusiastwalkingtours1 I'd like to see that video. I have been to Wendover Field several times starting when there were just a few rooms in one building. They've done a lot of work out there and the expanded tour showcased someone's love for the T-33. Wendover Field charges for admission and may require permission to film for your blog, but if you pitch it as boosting attendance you might be okay. Lot of artifacts and scale models and mock-ups to see. My last visit was during the covid era and attendance was sparse.

No B-58 Hustler? If I remember, it was assigned to Hill's bomber wing.

I got all excited when you showed Jake Garn's flight & space suits but you did not look up at his Navion N51D, instead you filmed the hangar doors!! I have flown in 51D many times with Jake and I even got to land at Hill Airforce Base with Jake and his son in 51D for an airshow with the Thinderbirds.

@enthusiastwalkingtours1 I used to fly MD 87s in and out of Wendover, I even had sex in the tower. And I was in the movie Mulholland Falls that was filmed at the airbase, then Independence Day and ConAir. My crash pad was actually on that base.

A really wonderful collection lots of diversity and all in tip top condition. If you are doing detail at the entrance stop longer and cover less ground it gives time to read a few more interesting exhibits.

Hill Field used to be a collection point for AAF recruits. Then on to Gieger Field Spokake for gunnery introductions. My father in law taught basics. Then on to flight school gunnery training.

So where is the 4K? I was there a couple weeks ago with a few of my grandkids. Very nice museum and it's free. It was in the middle of an expansion with a new building, so the aircraft were almost on top of each other. May I suggest one thing when doing videos of any museum. Stop at each exhibit and do a few seconds of short, clear video of the display information so that we can freeze and read it. It really helps to know what we're looking at, especially if there is no narrator.

I was running for president in 2020 and some things were happening so I stopped at Hill Air Force Base at the Medical group and told them I had information I needed to turn in so Air Force OSI came over and laughed at me for running as a liberal candidate, and never looked at the classified information. Unprofessional and endangering this country. I’m gonna make sure they’re fired and that the med group commander is also found and fired. One of the most unprofessional experiences of my life, and I’m retired Air Force.. there is absolutely no excuse

Hill, Air Force base is a disgrace to the United States Air Force, Department of Defense, and the United States of America. United States, Air Force retired, Master Sergeant, Timothy, David Geisler, 1982 to 2004.

The 2020 election was absolutely interfered with and government officials refused to look at the data about the fact that a presidential candidate was being attacked. Since when did the United States military start laughing at presidential candidates?

I went through this museum. Absolutely amazing. I think the average American has no idea the times of bravery and self sacrifice were enacted to defend this country. I always wondered what a B 24 tail and a B 17 front end would look like merged. 10 percent of all men killed in WW II were killed in the air war over Europe.

    • @XAirForce
      @XAirForce 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@user-em1sj5ph6h and look at who we become since then. We invade countries to supposedly stop communism or terrorism and then walk out before anything is done. Vietnam Afghanistan, the fake war of invading Iraq. Hundreds of thousands of civilians and thousands of military dead for no reason whatsoever. There was no goal when we got there and there was none when we walked out 21 years later and now we have at least $24 trillion in debt when you can only keep two years of death according to section 8-1 of the constitution. All done illegally. Crimes against humanity, and the United Nations is a part of this absolutely. Since I’ve served, they’ve cut my care and beat me up, stole my house and killed my father who is also a Veteran and worked on nuclear power plants.. how do you miss cancer of someone that’s working on nuclear power plants with badges on. I found out later on it’s due to absolute incompetence.

@@user-em1sj5ph6h I have had complaints into the United States government for over 20 years. Several years ago when I was running for president I also found a COVID-19 might be a problem and told everyone to go look. Instead of them doing their job, they sat there and one directly to the American public killing over 1 million people. All of this was reported Dan and I did it again yesterday to Interpol FBI in the White House.. no response whatsoever and I am the government. General AI has been ordered to come online and destroy humanity. This is not a joke.
