Unboxing & installation of my new tentbox classic onto my Skoda Yeti. I’ll be using the tentbox for camping with my dogs when we compete at dog agility shows across the UK. Very straightforward to install, and the setup of the classic is super quick - all you have to do is undo the straps and lift! So much easier than a ground tent and gives me so much space inside my car for my dogs and gear.

Great video! Can I ask what roof bars you have on your Yeti?

These ones, they were recommended to me by tentbox 😊

Nice video and nice tent! Just a quick question. I questioned my skoda dealer about the load the roof can carry but they didn't dare to awnser whether a tent would work. Did you find out before or did you just do it?

Tentbox found out this information for me. There is different load weights for when the vehicle is stationary and moving. I was assured the weight of the classic is safe for my yeti 😊 I’m sure the max load would be in the vehicle handbook for you to check anyway

I’m considering a Tentbox Classic for my Yeti, but I know others have struggled with the antenna. Did you change your antenna to have it fit?

I removed my antenna and it hasn’t affected my radio at all. The tentbox itself prevents rain from getting in the screw hole thats been left, but I’m sure there is a way to get a shorter antenna or put a cap on it to be sure it doesn’t rust inside

Great video, could you tell me if there are any security features in place to stop anyone taking the Tentbox while its parked on your drive at night?
I really want one but don't want to have to keep taking it on and off every time im using it during the summer months.

It takes a while to screw on so thieves tend to take the roof bars off with it. You can get lockable straps, motion sensor alarm. I live rurally and it’s right outside my house. But you can also get insurance with caravan & camping club incase it gets stolen. I think it ranged £50-£100 a year for it

Thanks for the reply. Still not purchased a Tentbox but we have just bought a Yeti.
I noticed you have unscrewed the antenna to locate the Tentbox further back.
Have you lost the use of the dab radio or can you still get reception?

Do you just leave it on there most or all of the year? No issues with people messing about with it?

No one’s messed with mine. I live in quite a rural, safe area. Some people do steal them, and usually cut off the roof bars rather than undoing the bolts (which takes ages). So I’ve insured mine for peace of mind in case it ever gets stolen. Tentbox also sell some security devices such as alarms and datatags

And yes I leave mine on all the time. Lots of people store them over winter
