i think its cause we do a cycle of 1700/1800s american history all year, brief west hemisphere history all year, brief east hemisphere history all year, and then repeat.
during my freshman year, we ended up covering the arab springs (a bunch of protests in middle eastern and north african countries that started during the early 2010s) but that was only because my teacher wanted to end the year with relatively recent events. outside of that, we never really made it past the cold war.

Listen i understand why people dont want a lockdown but if we getting these horrible inexcusably high numbers, i personally would put a lockdown until things get settled again. Like 242000+ people aint here anymore and people really are worried about getting to the club.
In Croatia we had lockdown from March to May, and it definitely helped the number of cases to start dwindling down. But of course, because my country is a tourist hotspot, the number of cases has been up ever since June and is usually hovering around the threshold of 1500-3000 a day (that's a lot for a country of 4 million people!). We're definitely not going into another lockdown since the transmission rate varies from region to region, but it's still going to take a few months before things start going back to normality.🙄

I am SOOOO ready for lockdown. I work 6 days a week in retail (because I need money and corporations don't care about their employees) and everyone is losing their mind. Most of the customers are acting like entitled douchebags, creeps are out in full force, and nobody seems to know what social distancing is.
Just this past week, some middle aged man told my 20-something co-worker that he liked her pants and after she said thanks, he grabbed her shoulder and said "no, I _really_ like those pants". Another man called the store to ask about buying short-shorts for his "curvy wife" and asked a different young female coworker to describe in detail what he would see if she bent over. I'll spare the details of the conversation but she hung up shortly after he started asking about "lips" hanging out. These people are disgusting and need to be exiled from the rest of society.
The second that a new lockdown is announced, I'm going to have the biggest celebration alone in my room! I am so so so ready.
SAME!!!!! I work 5-6 days a week in retail and we already had a shutdown earlier this summer, and my bosses were freaking out. This time, theyre still unraveling over the PROSPECT of another shutdown. At one point, I do feel for them because it's their bread and butter, it's their livelihood, but at the same time, retail is in shambles because of this pandemic.....

im barely a senior in high school and i 100% feel you on this. my teachers, specifically art and ap psych, are constantly dropping projects and assignments left and gd right. like i do understand my ap teacher assigning a lot, but like i wish she'd just chill out with the work. im just glad that i didn't have my counselor switch me to take ap lit before school had started cuz with what im hearing from other students who have him, they are drowning in his work.
Is it weird that I personally enjoy wearing masks. It actually makes me feel safer and less anxious in public cause I have issues with social settings and I’m immunocompromised.

Lmao I'm a waitress in small town Texas, and I see anti-maskers every day I work. I deal with them by laughing at them to their face when they say stupid shit and not refilling their drinks as much as I normally would. My mom works in a call center for a popular airline, and they normally enforce their mask regulation. They have removed many passengers and turned around several planes because of it.

I’m naturally a home body so seeing people leave their homes during quarantine because they are “dying” of boredom is beyond ridiculous and stupid. If being bored is the WORST thing that can happen to you right now among all the other ways people are suffering in this pandemic, then you have a pretty good life. 🤷🏻♀️ it’s sad that we may never get the cases to go down because people are so stupid and selfish and don’t even realize it or they do and don’t care.
