You guys are such an inspiration!!!!!!! I'm going through a very difficult time in my live at the moment and felt like giving up but watching your journey just give me strength to carry on. Thank you guys, you are awesome. xxx Love from sunny South Africa
James’s wife is one hell of a keeper! Imagine how she predicted that there was going to be a time when he was going to want to quit and decided to write a letter of motivation to keep him going in that moment. Hold on to that one mate.
You guys are crazily amazing & can do so much in life. To your wives, family & friends y'all are so strong in every way possible. Y'all too have amazing strength & faith.
I saw grit and fortitude that had not seen since my tree-planting days in the British Columbia wilderness. Well done. I watched while on sojourn in the South Pacific caught an island of my own doing. Thank you for the magnificent respite. Now, back to my writing.
I would be scared but would love that opportunity. However I don’t think I’d have the strength, both mentally and physically! I’m so happy for them, what an accomplishment
I have wanted to watch this for a very long time and i was happy to see the whole series here on TH-cam. I did feel guilty though for sitting here in a comfy sofa with my cup of tea and choccy biscuits while they were suffering ☹️ Well done to the two of them 👍💞👏💖👏💞👍 Thank you for uploading 💖
Is it me or does James look particularly crouched over as his body looks like it's changed. Ben looks enlightened, whereas James' looks humbled and Zen'd out. I hope he hasn't any damage. He was the soul of the trip, Ben was a force to be reckoned with, but James pushed them to their limits and won!
what I don`t understand is that they knew that capsizing during that race is quite common and happened a lot of times before to other boats. For that reason all the electrics should be sealed in watertight. Like all the connections with hot glue ot those cable connectors that shrink tight when you heat them up.
Every piece of kit should have a specific place, strapped down and yes, electrics in waterproof boxes. The design (or lack thereof) of the boat is dreadful.
@@shadic187 Yes, the Pacific Ocean is just huge, wherever the start and end point of a voyage may be. Island hopping, with long periods of rest and recuperation in preparation for the next leg, would be the only way to row across it.
how did they shoot the out of boat scenes??? is it all a fake? i mean did they row the whole way i guess so but was there ever any danger? dramatic effect... okay...
A sailboat followed the race. Shows it in the other videos. It didn't help them in any way as it's not aloud to help unless the crew can't continue. It's their just for safety and to make sure all boats are following the rules and not cheating.
Watched for that question, race it may be but there is called a rescue break boat following for lack of the proper term. My daughter paddled open ocean and they do have a medic boat for participating boaters to eat sleep etc.1 hour breaks are used. So they are not totally alone fyi.they have stand by team mates while one Takes a break.they do sleep, one can't stroke it for 2 months lol know what you are thinking. There are shifts they didn't tell you about.
It's a reenactment and alot of editing. Its called tell lie vision. For the one's that keep asking how did they film it. But all u have to do is Google the real story.
@@DK-jd8bj Thank you, I was watching to find out what place they took after penalties. The video should have let the viewers know this. I was guessing that each reserve bottle would be a loss of one day. Would have liked to have that explained.
Who's operating the camera? And the aerial views? Helicopter/ Plenty of people to rescue them. Of course there was communication with the outside world
They should’ve harpooned that whale and had it tow them to the finish line! For every person I upset with this comment I just want to let you know in advance that this is just dark humour. I don’t support whale hunting except by the Inuit and other northern people’s who depend on it as a food source.
This has nothing to do with ego ... if i where to do it which i wished i could .. it would to see how far can i go mentally, spiritually, body, emotional...
When u push your body, mind, spirit, and heart to the max like they did u can find things about your self u never did know how is the ego i think thats called soul searching all got is your thoughts and one person to talk to for 2 months ...
Where'd you get self-centred and egotistical from? I mean, you row for 50 days with but one person there with you and you're going to spend a lot of time thinking about yourself, aren't you? That doesn't make them as people egotistical, they just got put in a situation with excessive time to reflect.
Blimey this is impressive . Can’t believe fogle kept pace with Cracknell- massive respect to em both

and now they're divorced !! very sad for their little boy
Maria Clements that is too bad. I don’t pretend to understand the situation but it can’t be easy for any of them.
simply an AWESOME Achievement from you both, mentally and physically. Inspiring.....
Wow! That was awesome. I have to admire their determination. They deserved to win.
Because they didn't do documentaries on the other teams...

Congrats guys, you would never find me volunteering for a rowing trip across the Atlantic.
Come on let us do it next year 555

I wonder why the race didn't mandate a solar still as a backup.

Love this channel
How stupid do you have to be not to keep sat phone and a backup GPS in a waterproof box?!
Thought the same, i mean at least store the phone when the waves are getting bigger.
Every piece of kit should have a specific place, strapped down and yes, electrics in waterproof boxes. The design (or lack thereof) of the boat is dreadful.
They should have at least had a compass
@@stacymiller6590 they did
Ben fogle is amazing love him
I imagine that they must have experienced boredom and frustration all the way after the first 100 miles
Be careful what you wish for because you just may get it.
Does Mr Fogle have an OBE yet? If not, we'll deserved........
The water time penalty is ridiculous!
They’ve been rowing for 2 months wtf
I hope you are great-full for your creater that gave you everything
The time penalty is just ridiculous. They finished first. And should have won .
Very Impressive
whats the song that starts playing around 13:40? kinda fast paced quiet techno, really nice.
That was nothing!..they need to cross the Pacific!!
You crossed the Pacific? Or Atlantic?
@@barrystevens2699 It's a joke. The Pacific ocean is the largest ocean in the world.

How are they getting footage of the boat from a distance? Is someone following them?
Finally. Been waiting for this episode
LOL no statistics on the race.
Who’s filming from above and a far? Deff not alone.

I just want to see the end god damn It...... Will this be it?
The should try crossing the desert now
No PFD and or harnesses? Seems weird.
hope y'all put your shorts on before you go pass the finish line so there are not anymore surprises! ;)
who is filming them from a distance? doesn't that mean they must've had a camera crew boat nearby?
I'd love to do this an especially party my ads off in the caribean all in shape ready for the ladies. ..
Same👌
Wow.. the Atlantic ocean.. which was, apparently too much for even the Titanic . but they figure they can cross it on a rowboat. Er. OK... Amazing....
It was too much for the titanic because it hit an ice berg

Really? Please provide the link or take it back.
how did their boat get righted after capsizing?
It's designed to self right
It was me
i like ur name
Why they don't have fishing pole?
Because that would waste time.
Who won the race.?
They did, first boat by two days it said.
A guy on a dolphin do flips and sh1t
They arrived first in the doubles category (3rd overall) but with the penalty for using the emergency water, they got second place.

Who is taking an aerial view of the boat should be fired in part one for not helping when they were in danger.
EPIRB, SEXTANT, CHARTS, FLARE GUN, SEA ANCHOR, SPARE SOLAR GPS,
How many people have died on this race?
at the time of this taping, 3.
why is dave portnoy rowings across the ocean
Hahaha I thought the exact same thing
They didn’t *have* to go to Antigua. If they got desperate enough they could’ve stopped somewhere closer and dropped out of the race.
TH-cam could not have placed the ads are more annoying times. Middle finger to their algorithms .
They doesn't get any money to put a motor in their little bot 😡?
Nice English
