I saw this live in 1980 during The Wall Tour. Several more times at David and Roger solo shows., about eight more times. I fell very lucky when I think about how many times I have seen this live.
I love to watch your generation listen to the timeless music I've grown up with. I still get emotional when I listen to Pink Floyd and It's been about 50 years now. Great reaction.
Fantastic reaction! Thank you for sharing this with us. It's so good to see someone young like you appreciating this music Stax. I was in my teenage years when I first started to listen to them and I will soon be 70. It is such a wonderful validation of their ability to incite deep, heartfelt emotion in so many of their songs. I hope you continue to enjoy more in the near future. Thank you again, and big love.
Man I’m only 8 min in and this got me emotional. The guitar is telling a story bro I love Pink Floyd. Shutout to my boy Stax for the doing the concert version! 🫡🫡
Seeing Pink Floyd live is unlike any other concert. More akin to a religious experience! And many people consider this to be the greatest live rock guitar solo ever recorded (although I think their performance of Sorrow from this same concert is even better!).
I saw this concert in Dallas with my son at the old Cowboys stadium. It was just as amazing as you think it is. The problem with seeing a concert like this is that it makes it difficult to go and watch a concert made by mere mortals. I mean how can anyone surpass this? Some bands will come close, but I have yet to see anyone surpasses it.
Smoothest voice ever! His wife always stated David was a man of few words however, spoke volumes through his guitar filled with emotional driven energy! Legend!!
Pink Floyd absolutely hits in a spiritual way. That's how almost all their songs are. For an out of body experience I highly recommend Great Gig in the Sky from this same concert (Pulse). It's absolutely beautiful. The studio version is also great, but the live version is something else altogether. 💗🖖🏽
I'm so glad that younger generations are still listening to Pink Floyd. Please keep spreading the word to your friends. I began listening to Floyd in the 70s. One of my biggest regrets in life is not going to see them on April 5, 1994 at Rice Stadium in Houston 😞. Somebody actually offered me a ticket, but i knew that the weather was supposed to be bad that day. Rice Stadium is an open-air stadium and on the day of that concert it was raining hard. It became known as the RAIN LIKE HELL SHOW. Be careful what opportunities you turn down.
That thing that's spinning is a rotating Leslie speaker. When you spin a powerful speaker it gives a more three-dimensional sound and is kind of a surrounding sound or surround sound!! Not only do they encircle the audience with speakers behind the audience in front of the audience and on both sides, but they have those rotating speakers on stage and if you've ever been to a live Pink Floyd show you'll never hear something that is more enveloping and they basically put you inside a giant set of headphones!!!
Great reaction young man. Love it! I’ll be the first to admit. This song? For me I love watching but closing eyes and just taking in the pure talent and to bring this song to life. The guitar solo is beyond epic. The lighting, the whole band, the bass and drums. The vocals but him playing guitar is out of this world and the ball reminds me of a lotus flower. Could you imagine being in the crowd? Walking away in bliss and knowing you eyes and mind may never feel this way again live. You could close eyes and remember until your last day. Thank you for this.
Pink Floyd takes you to another world. It's an experience like no other and reaches down to your very soul. Thank you for this reaction. I'm 63 and they still bring me to tears.
I wasn't at THIS show, but I saw them in Nashville on this same tour. Jaw droppingly AMAZING! Literally may or may not have had a tear or two in my eye.
Nicely played Stax👍 Those spinning cabinets are Leslie speakers connected to the keyboard. When they rotate, the sound waves bend. Spread the love Brother 🐶😎🇺🇸
Right on! They played Oakland Coliseum on this tour. Friends camped out in tents to get the tickets. The mirror ball flower thingy came up from the floor and started turning and completely opened. Our minds were blown. Young and old. Lifetime fan.⚡️ Whoa. Just checked and footage exists. I’m always surprised when I see videos of concerts I went to.
You're a good man Stax, thanks for the little encouragements for all. You'll continue to enjoy and experience PF. Anything from this 1994 Pulse concert for their live performances (Wish You Were Here, Great Gig in the Sky, One of These Days - are just some suggestions). For studio version songs, please do Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Both parts - split if needed), Us and Them, Hey You, are all good starters. Whenever you do any studio versions, have the lyrics, maybe a little research on the song, but never any "official" videos with them, as they distract from the experience. Cheers.
The big disco ball is highly symbolic. First of all, it wasn't seen until the lights spotted it. It was simply not there! Hidden in a box in the ceilling. So when it got lit, you can understand why the audience went wild. And then, when it opened up and showed the shining diamond that's inside, a direct reference to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (which refer to Syd Barrett), the fans understood! Genius! What's more? This is one of the 3 songs they in the « encore ».
Saw that tour at RFK stadium in DC. They had 3 stages. One being disassembled at the last show. The stage they were playing on and one being erected at the next stadium. Speakers around the top, sides and back of the stadium. The sounds moved around inside like some kind of magic. It was special. The laser show above the crowd, stadium and into the sky were a trip. The stage looked like a lava lamp with musicians in the void of space. The awesomeness will be in my memory until i no longer exist. Watch the entire concert when you get a chance. It will stir emotions right out of your soul. Please take the time.
Bravo Stax...Bravo! This is the Pinnacle of Floyd! Just One more Reason that I LOVE ROCK N ROLL! "The Great Gig In the Sky" (Pulse) next from Floyd, Stax, Please!
I grew up listening to Pink Floyd in the 70's. I love seeing the younger generation discover them. Here's a few suggestions, you already heard Time, now you should hear MONEY, On the turning Away, Learning to Fly, one of my favorites, another one, Wish you were here, The great gig in the sky. There's way to many to list , so you keep diving in, there's plenty more.
7:58 that is such an iconic image of David Gilmour. The Zeus of guitar gods. And if your ears aren’t ringing when the song ends, you have not listened to this tune properly.
I absolutely love that you’re so open about discovering music from back in the day. Next reaction….GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!! Talk about a moving experience!! If you’d like to see more live performances from them check The Delicate Sound of Thunder, Pulse and/or Live At Pompeii from 1972. All amazing!
🤗 This had everyone emotional! Grown men bawling like babies by the time the glitter ball 'object de Art' opened. Others 📝 taking notes like David was teaching a Master Class in 🎸 Guitar. 🥰🐰
The first time I heard the song on the album "The Wall" I probably played it over and over at least 25 times. A year earlier I bought an Accutrac turntable that was programmable and you could play anything over and over again. I was so glad I didn't have to get up and replace the tone arm 25 times. I had a rule that a new album had to be played all through. I broke that rule that night. Enjoyed your reaction!
I agree. That song is my other clear memory of this concert because 🐷🍄🐷. I’ve seen a lot of live music in my life but nothing like this. As young people when we heard David Gilmour agreed to come back and tour with Pink Floyd it seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity to see them play.
My first reaction to Pink Floyd ? Can't remember. It was 45 years ago. But I'm still listening ever since.....mostly with goosebumps and tears. Rabbit hole 😊
Absolutely awesome reaction to one of the greatest concert performances ever! I’ve been listening to Pink Floyd music for over 50 years now, never growing tired of revisiting albums and songs over and over again. When I was in high school, I’d lay down on my bedroom floor and position myself between my 2 large speakers, often in complete darkness. Great memories! Thanks for this, enjoyed the heck outta everything! Peace sir…..
Floyd fan for 40 years. Seen Pink Floyd live twice and Roger Waters once. Although I enjoyed the live concerts -- Maybe my brain reacts to their studio material at home and in the car the best. Has any TH-camr ever done a CHILDHOOD'S END reaction? Or a ONE OF THESE DAYS, reaction? Those outliers never get mad views.
Try "Keep Talking" from the same concert - heck, listen to any song from that concert and you will hear the genius of 30 years of some of the best music ever conceived.
Hi Stax, I remember going to the stax revue in London in the late sixties { Otis Redding, Booker T etc. Pink Floyd were playing regularly in and around London and I have enjoyed them ever since along with a host of other great sounds. Enjoy the trip.
Sadly no more pink floyd concerts, but i saw an amazing tribute band called Brit Floyd. I think they were as close as we can get now. I loved them. This granny went a bit crazy.
You wanna know what emotional to music means? Watch this! th-cam.com/video/St6jyEFe5WM/w-d-xo.html Procol Harum, "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" 2006. AMAZING!!!! This was 39 years after the original release!! Do it!
Those spinners? Are actually speakers known as Lesleys with lights on the opposite side from the speaker, apparently they give a phased sound and work particularly well with Quadrophonic sound systems which this concert was performed in.
THE GUITAR LEADS SOUND GREAT AS USUAL WITH HIS "DELAY/REVERB" SYSTEM THAT ADD TO THE MYSTIC! THAT MIGHT BE AN UPDATED VERSION OF A SPEAKER SPINNING THAT WAS CALLED A "LESLIE SPEAKER" MOSTLY USED WITH KEYBOARDS. OF COURSE, MANY USE THEM FOR GUITAR TOO. NOT SURE AS THEY HAVE SO MUCH GOING AS USUAL IN THEIR LIVE PERFORMANCES. STEPPENWOLF MADE THEM FAMOUS IN THE LATE '60'S IN SONGS LIKE "BORN TO BE WILD" AND OTHERS. LOVE KEYBOARDS/ORGAN.
When you said "small steps will lead to one big leap" I had to write that down. And just because of that I'm going to subscribe and give you a thumbs up.
hello, 65yrs old fart here. Been listening to PF all my life, first 1972. Best band ever, not a day going by that i not listening to floys. i wouyld like to change place with you and never been listening to PF. You are on a ride.............

There are many bands that will never be ever lasting bit P.F. will be forever. Haven't release or played since this since 1994 except 1 "Live aide" reunion performance. DSOTM on the charts for 948 wks. no one comes closes. Saw this 5 times . everyone people left speechless of what they just saw. Disco Ball is an big FU to music critics who said their music wouldn't sell because they don't play dance or R&R.songs.
Watching your reacts feels like I dragged a friend to a band hes never seen before. I love your videos so much, thank you for sharing with us all! Have you ever heard of Iron Maiden? They are really fun and energetic and I think youd get a kick out of them
Stax, great reaction! Mother is another masterpiece you should check out! Another Brick in the Wall is an iconic song by Pink Floyd that you'll probably get a lot of requests for over time if you go down this rabbit hole. 🖤🤘
Those small steps is everything! I love the small steps. Build a car from scratch. Fix up a house. Win over a girl. All experiences that are worth salt in this life come from the journey of small steps. The richness in life lives insode those small steps and it makes the results more enriching. .---. Santana is touring right now. I think you would really enjoy all his motivational messaging between songs. He talks to the crowd and says little things that motive and inspire. You walk way feeling blessed, happy and positive. But I don't know if you have ever reacted to Carlos Santana.
Their speakers 3 of them alloson rotating speaker's for effect made to look like lights House turets distant ships on the horizon! No expense spared at Pink Floyd shows
Welcome to Pink Floyd. As trippy and spacey as it is earthy and rockin'. It's a dynamite combination for sure. The band was named after blues artists PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. David Gilmour is the whole reason that I picked up electric guitar, and the epic Fender Stratocaster in particular.
Stax, I think the word you're listening to is.............MESMERIZED! Next up for you? "Obscured by Clouds", the album BEFORE "Dark Side........". Another artist that will hypnotize you? Miss Lucy Thomas; listen to ANYTHING she does, all are masterpieces! Check her out on TH-cam Music!
I saw this live in 1980 during The Wall Tour. Several more times at David and Roger solo shows., about eight more times. I fell very lucky when I think about how many times I have seen this live.

The whole Pulse Concert is a life-changer....
You are 100% correct
I saw this tour. It was amazing. Definitely the benchmark for all shows I ever saw after that.
Lucky you. I can't believe I never went to see then.
Cool!
Smoothest voice ever! His wife always stated David was a man of few words however, spoke volumes through his guitar filled with emotional driven energy!

Very well said!!!!!!
🎯
Took my oldest son to pink floyd on 94, at joe robbie stadium, in the rain. The vid does no justice. Lasers and rain, got to love it!
Pink Floyd are masterful at capturing the feeling that they are trying to convey, it why 50 years later it's still amazing!
You don’t just listen to this man play the guitar, you experience it.
Felt that!
@@michaellamb9596 Isn't he great?

Thanks for the info!
I still have my Ticket Stub from the Tour!
The goosebumps still apply. All I can say is " thank you pink floyd for the music." So glad we had them. Thank you for the reaction.

You need to do a reaction
On the entire pink floyd
The wall
Album it's a masterpiece
He could even live watch the movie
I will for sure
I have heard it said that someone told them they wouldn't be successful because they were not playing disco music. Thus the disco ball climax
🙏🙏
Great Reaction! Watch Sorrow from pulse concert also listen to time from same show
Will dooo
Pink Floyd are out of this world... first herd them back in 87.. they along with Led Zeppelin and Metallica changed my life... love em.
A absolutely legendary performance, iconic.
🙏🙏🙏
Yessss!!! So glad you decided to check this out!!!!

Thank you
Still one of the greatest nights of my life! Saw this show in Cleveland Ohio

Brain music for sure!!!!!! I think its the frequency they choose. It is spiritual!!!! Everyone says this. And you get it. I saw your other reaction.
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Saw this show in Munich in August 94, unforgettable. We were spoiled for concerts before smart phones ruined everything.
Right!!!!
Pink Floyd are brilliantly different.
That’s a fact🤘🏽
Nice reaction to one of the best rock songs of all time.
The only band I know of that you can listen to and trip without taking any kind of drug
SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND will blow you away
Sadly no more pink floyd concerts, but i saw an amazing tribute band called Brit Floyd. I think they were as close as we can get now. I loved them. This granny went a bit crazy.
Awww

I always thought that this song was about trying to get a spaced out Sid up for the show. it is also depicted like that in their movie.
When you said "small steps will lead to one big leap" I had to write that down. And just because of that I'm going to subscribe and give you a thumbs up.
Wow thank you so much 💙🙏
Depressing as hell but part of life. It points that out, Very very well. Heavy.
hello, 65yrs old fart here. Been listening to PF all my life, first 1972.

Always superior❤
“Something about Pink Floyd just hits different.”
That’s because they are different.
There has never been another band like Pink Floyd. And there never will be.
This band took every rule in the book for making rock music, and turned them all upside down. Reinventing music from the ground up.
🤗 Yaaaas! Live Floyd! 🤩 Let's Go! 🥰🐰
Pink Floyd Enrich Your Life, Fact.
David Gilmore is one of the most underrated guitar players of all time
I would love to see you react to an entire Pink Floyd album- dark side of the moon is a great one to start with. Please listen to Maggot Brain from Funkadelic!! It's a rival for most emotional guitar solos... imo, of course.
