I just ordered the newest version of this car, but I want to put an OS .12 performance engine in it that will require a starter box. Do you think this chassis can accommodate a starter box?
if it is flooded, it should be difficult to pull the starter; unscrew the glow plug pull the starter few times to let surplus of fuel to escape. What you mean prime it? You need to press the pump over the fuel tank a few times to get the fuel in the engine. Also double check that your glow plug is good by seeing if it is hot while to power it.
Should look for other bodies from hpi like the e30 m3 200mm, skyline r32 200mm, the venom T10 body looks rather similar too the body shown on the right page in the article showcasing the bodies it comes with. There are also thirdparty suppliers for stuff like exhaust tips, rear wings, mirrors, generic wheel. Other brands too check are yokonomo, abc hobby,D-like,kyosho,Pandora rc,parma, protoform,Tamiya (ebay has a bit more of a selection on 200mm onroad rc bodies when not looking for specific brands of companies, you can probably check tamiyaclub.com for more help with parts & advice around the chassis of the kyosho pureten gp spider there, along with perhaps sparking an interest towards more vintage rc stuff from other brands.)
You did a great job on that rig! Read the jalopnik article and was absolutely glued. Learned a lot just by reading about it. Thanks for sharing

That is so cool. The video caps your post perfectly. Thanks!
David Moore thanks for checking it out!
Excellent job restoring it !
I don't think I've ever seen the ST165 Celica body in action before. That looks awesome! I kinda want one now. :)
What fuel are you running it on? I wonder becuse the fuel is blue and what i know nitro is often red
Traxxas TopFuel 20%. I have now switched to VP Racing 30% which is clear.
Having trouble getting mine started, may of flooded it, so you prime yours before you start it?

Hi, that's a great video! I got mine and is underway.
Hello Practical Enthusiast. That thing sounds amazing what engine were you running?
Thanks! It's a Kyosho GS11R. It's the blue heatsink version that you could get with the World Cup chassis.
I have the exact same car that I am trying to restore. Did you have to get any parts for your GS11R? I’m struggling to find a new pull starter
Take this baby to an outdoor skating rink or a tennis court!
Kevin Acasio agreed. I need to find a smoother surface.
They even made these 4 stroked , nearly as fast as stock .
