Commissioned in 1958 as America's main strike fighter, the F4 PHANTOM is still in active service in many airforce's around the world today although it has now been officially retired from the American military. Always loved the look of the Phantom. Probably the most sexy fighter jet of all time from the late 50s I believe.
This F4 Phantom model brings back memories... I was a young Marine (USMC 1962-66) attached to VMFA-542 for the squadron's first deployment to Vietnam - April to December of 1965. [During this first deployment to Vietnam the F4s were not camo painted.]

Up in the mountains around Dak To, I was in a heavy fire team of 2 loaches at tree-top, a low Cobra and a high Cobra. I was front seat of low Cobra. We got into something too heavy to handle and we called in the F4's while we flew a holding pattern nearby. They called us on the radio and said "We'll be on site in 5" and we were thinking 5 minutes. They meant 5 seconds as they came in close enough to rock us then went up for a napalm drop. Pretty much burned everything down with napalm. Every time I drive to downtown Orlando, FLorida, I take the exit near the Executive Airport where they have an F4 mounted in a small park.
Shes beautiful , Muchachos . ! Soon as it rotated my head played late 1960's Rock & Roll.

This looks good in the air, esp when you consider that it's an old design, with a relatively simple shape- once it's airborne this Kyosho Phantom really comes to life. With a special salute to Hubert for this now nifty bird, big salute as ever from London. ⭐⭐⭐👍

The F-4 Phantom is one of my favorite jets. Glad to have Capt. Hubert join for this video. I agree with him; if it flew a bit slower, it would have been more to scale. Nevertheless, the flight was very nice. Three big salutes to our RC Rockstars!

First, does it have any cheater holes for extra air? Next jump the esc from 30a to 40a and use a 4s 1500 mAh.i think it flies only using tailerons, correct? I believe what i tried is set up as elevons. Lol for some reason i have trouble flying anything with tailerons. Ok, i just finished watching the video and it flies plenty power

I recall that Spektrum has a smaller window for full throw than other systems, so you might need to use +/- 125% to get the full range. That explains why the ESC didn't calibrate until you set it to 150% throw.
Most ESCs calibrate just fine with the normal 100%, but not this one.
If you get an Spektrum ESC you can use battery telemetry instead of timer, to max out the flight time. 👍

Those were good mods! I wish the Kyosho T-33 was like that. The original setups were pretty weak. I wonder now if I wasn't getting full throttle on the T-33.
I'm still needing to upgrade mt Eachine F-16 from its factory under powered 3s to 4s motor and ESC. I'm wondering if this plane needs the same?
When you pull the string at the tail, it will transform into a Mig? Nice flight, and safely back to terra firma
About the esc calibration.
There a chance that if the sticks on the transmitter are not calibrated correctly it might not go to zero and makes the ESC keep beeping and lowering the throttle but it doesn’t go to zero. So the esc calibration can’t be completed.

I use to have a kyosho f86 Sabre with an os. 11 ducted fan in it, it was a freaking tank and barely flew.. it was epoxyglass fuse with wood wings...
Throttle calibration, my friends. Always calibrate that ESC, even if you have limited range set on your radio on accident, you'll get full range after the cal. I'd suggest always starting with a new model in your radio, also, to alleviate the concern about limited output range or trims from a different model.
Transmitter on, throttle full. Plug in lipo, listen for tones. Transmitter throttle quickly to zero, listen for tones. Enjoy your new throttle cal.
