Quick clarification everyone! The comment about $10000 dollars an hour is referring to how much the headers are yielding in regards to product harvested. Canola is less tons per hour so is yielding $10000 per hr whereas wheat is around $40000

You could start a competition between the wives, if each one of you tells your wife that the food one of the other wives brought out was really really good, you could end up with three course meals with vintage wine and table clothes by the end of harvest. Or they could find out and you end up with cold coffee and a packet of biscuits.

Matt, sorry to hear that you've had a few things stolen like lights, GoPro, etc. Hopefully they've got a conscience and hand them back - unlikely in this day and age I guess unfortunately. We'll just have to buy some more merch to help out. I know it's a busy time of the year, but keep these videos coming - they're excellent!!!

I was having a conversation with. Komatsu field mechanic about the D575 and I had mentioned this dozer was discontinued back in 2012, the last one going to an Australian coal company bringing the total number ever built to 53…he said they still make them and he assured me they were still available in Australia…now I don’t know how that is possible unless there are companies that have that much pull with Komatsu that they still make them specifically for those companies…if that’s the case, they are likely built and sold as components rather than whole machine’s because they wouldn’t pass emissions today I’m sure…in any case have you ever considered a D575 for your operation?…you have such a beautiful property and you guys certainly know how to farm!..cheers!

We call them storm birds. They migrate down from Papua New Guinea every year and we have found that they are not very truthfull. At least the dry is good for harvesting and allows for a break for lunch which very rarely happens as the machines have to usually work for as long as possible every day incase of wet weather.

I don’t like the way the coolant came out like that MATT, its not a good sign if the engine hasn’t been running for some time.
I’m sure BRAD would have to agree as that is a sign of pressure remaining in the system and it shouldn’t do that if the engine is cold .

Love seeing grain being harvested. You guys have a safe and prosperous harvest! That combine plug brought back memories of myself plugging one up, but mine didn’t have a reverser. I had to manually reverse the cylinder or table auger to retrieve wrapped crop. It was generally from running into Johnson grass or cutting after the dew had dropped.

Great video and drone footage. I remember seeing a crop of canola at Greenthorpe with way too much nitrogen and at least a metre over the top of the fence, it looked impressive and yielded poorly at about 1 tonne/ha. The plant needs to put its energy into seed and not leaf. Excellent crop at 1.5 t/ha. We just had 34 mm on the tablelands. Good luck for the rest of harvest.

For the expensive hardware, I guess it is less than satisfactory to have a fix-as-fails maintenance strategy. Perhaps for some operators that are looking to step up, they might try to get away without the cost of preventative maintenance, hoping that they get lucky (without major problems), whereas more experienced hands might have better insight into the degree which they can make their own luck...and figuring out where they might trim some cost to reallocate elsewhere in the future. The variability of yield might be the big equaliser.
