City people think farmers are wealthy but the income from a good year often has to last 2 or 3 years and sometimes more. If those city people only got paid for one year then had to work for nothing for the next couple of years , they would realise what farmers go through. And the bills keep coming.

The air 2 served me well for 2.5yrs👍😁 I was tossing up between the mini 4 and the air 3, the air 3 handles wind better and goes faster😂 the 70mm lens is cool too

We had snow here, day before yesterday. Yesterday morning it was a whopping 4 degrees Fahrenheit. About 4 inches of white stuff here now, had to scoop of the walkway yesterday. Currently( just looked) it is 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I wish I was there it looks whole lot warmer........LOL.
Can i ask why your not cutting with the full width of the header?, that couple of feet your not using is just wasting time and fuel cutting fresh air and between the two combines could add up at a fare bit of crop your not getting cut over the course of a day.
Hey mate, our tram lines are 12m meaning we run all operations on the same tracks so we don’t get compaction, the header combs are a bit more then 12m. When needed we do cut the full width but you don’t waste as much time or fuel as you think because you need to go slower if you take a full cut👍😁 it all comes down to tons an hr regarding fuel use and productivity
Hey fellas, I noticed you don’t protect you front header tyres from canola stalk wear with old conveyor belt rubber? All headers I have seen in WA do this to prevent wear and punctures, the heavy belt gets the stalks to lay down.
We had fiddled around with it on tractors and things a few years ago but we only plant 200-500ha of canola and it doesn’t seem to wear out the tyres much for us, header 2 has worn tyres but that was from before we had it👍😁
Our subsoils are not suitable for deep ploughing and the yields would not justify the cost. These subsoils tend to be sonic so high in sodium and difficult to work for a few years while they break down. Apart from the lack of nutrients in the subsoil. In a dry year like this one, there would be almost zero moisture in the soil and the crop would not be planted.. these soils are deep cracking so there is little advantage in deep ploughing apart from the weed control and it appears that Jackson’s cultivation approach works for reducing weeds.

Once again Google is wrong. 2204.6 lbs per metric tonne. Canola is 50 lbs per bushel. One hectare is 2.471 acres. Therefore 1 tonne per hectare is 2204.6 divided by 50 divided by 2.471 is 17.8 bushels per acre. I think the yield monitor showed just under 1.5 tonnes/ ha.
How many daylight hours do ya have now in this season? Northwest South Dakota USA, I think we have around 10-11 hours haven't been keeping track to much I guess. Bottom line, days are getting shorter here in the Northern Hemisphere. December 21 will be the shortest day, I think. (winter solstice they call it)
I remember working in Canada a long time ago and you could do 15 hour days on the tractor without turning the lights on. It was fairly well north though.
The headers are different width and they keep the wheels in the same spacing so as not to trample the rows. In this video both were not running full width some of the time but the narrower one was probably doing so because of the track position on that piece of land.
The wheels always follow the tramlines to keep compaction to a minimum. The headers don’t suit the tramline width which fits the cultivation equipment and the sprayers. You can’t have everything.

Farming in Australia its drought, floods, fires and occasionally you get a good yr. The drone footage is amazing MATT.

Why do not use a plogh on organic crops ? When you have 50 to 100 cm of topsoil ,but it take some time and burn a lot of diesel

We are currently about 13hrs between sunrise and sunset at the moment👍
