    Well done looks good. We have been round Australia twice including Tassie, visiting every Australian iconic area and all with a stock standard Prado and standard road bunk van. Camping mostly fully off grid. Funny perceived needs against actual need (wants). But great to watch, look forward to the build.

      Thanks mate! After almost 3 years in an almost stock Ford Ranger we agree you can get away with a lot less. This is a dream vehicle for us.

    The 76 looked mint when I saw it at Burrum Heads but it was hard to appreciate just how much work (and expense) that had gone into it even up to that point until this video (and more to come over the coming weeks). I guess when you compare it to a house reno/improvement any other pleb like myself might otherwise do at home, you wouldn’t take any shortcuts or spare any expense so I can understand the ‘buy once, cry once’ notion. I’m very keen (as I’m sure you and Liz are) to see how all ‘the fruit’ performs when used in anger as I’m sure you’ll be putting it all to the ultimate road test during your ongoing travels 🤘

    Awesome build guys and super impressed with your detail! we've got a 2016, 76 series that we have been doing a slow build on as well and really love the vehicle and how it performs. Hey if possible can you do a walkaround at the end of each stage as it would be so good to see it in stages? Cheers and keep em coming! Love your work too! Appreciate the effort, Phil

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! The diff centre gets re-used in the coil conversion. The standard suspension and diff housing aren't worth much unfortunately.

    Hi guys love your channel. We've just purchased a 79 series dualcab at a reasonable post covid price and are looking at upgrades and towing a semi off road van. We did a lap in a BT50 dualcab with ARB suspension towing this van with no probs. but went the cruiser for it's ff road abilities. Just wondering if the rear axle length deficit was addressed as part of the coil conversion? This is more problematic in our 79 due to greater wheelbase and vehicle length .Looking forward to watching your new adventures, Cheers!

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks guys. Similar to us, we switched to the 76 from a Ford Ranger for similar reasons. The Jmacx coil conversion we did includes a lot more than just the suspension components, including a replacement rear diff housing and axles to correct the track width. The factory diff centre (including the locker if fitted) is retained. It also includes a handy rear axle load rating upgrade, GCM upgrade, GVM upgrade, brake upgrade including booster and braided lines, replacement exhaust (torqit), and re-engineering for bigger tyres.

    Can you clarify the upgrade numbers for peeps? Our 76 already had 3.5t tow rating, and the addition of the Jmacx kit gave us an increase in GVM from 3000kg to 3900kg. But not a GCM increase.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We'll be going through it in more detail in a future video but the Jmacx coil conversion incresed the GVM to 3900kg and maintains a full 3500kg towing at max GVM - a GCM of 7400kg

    What's your thoughts on the ppf so far?
    I'm trying to determine whether the price tag is worth the benefits ppf has.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Love it. The 3M stuff we used is incredible at repelling water which in turn means mud, animal droppings, etc don't stick at all and makes it so much easier to clean. Add to that the scratch and chip resistance and it's great peace of mind. It isn't cheap but we knew we were keeping this vehicle for a long time.

    In reality no more expense than a big rig that still will not be as purpose built. Are you going to do a brake upgrade? Six pot Brembos on the front would be good for a tow vehicle.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers

    I can’t help it, but you said there is nothing out there..Mate, (your making a sudo LC300,) in my view, for the money your spending (or given to you) buying a LC300 wagon and doing a VEOP gvm upgrade for $14k or Jmacx, you wouldn’t have to worry about sound deadening and half the other mods etc etc. It would be such a much better vehicle.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree. If you compare the price of a 300 series with a GVM suspension upgrade to a 76 with a coil conversion the 76 is cheaper. The bull bar, snorkel, UHF, etc we'd do to what ever vehicle we bought. Sound deadening is about $1200 so not a huge outlay in the scheme of things.

    • @davtreloar9236
      @davtreloar9236 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheLifestylePioneers I guess we will disagree then, which is totally OK. The 76 is probably similar specs to a LC300 GX, and you can get them for under 100k with coils. If I was your kids, I know what I’d prefer to sit in the back off. Cheers . Enjoy your build.

    I can understand you buying a Toyota and getting rid of your Ford but wasn't your van purchased because of it's tare weight so seriously doubt that all these expensive mods you are doing are needed to be able to legally tow your van in any Australian state. You go on about costs but when you add it up you could have bought a new 300 series and had change. I just crossed the Simpson Desert in my stock standard GXL Prado no worries. Just don't get it Toyota spends millions developing these vehicles and you change the shit out of them for no reason. Love your channel but can we have a little less of your and Liz's head and more of the roads and landscape where your travelling after all that's what the video is about and please show the road signs so we've got an idea of where you are don't blur them out like all the other youtubers. Cheers Greg B.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @TheLifestylePioneers

      @@DJTrumpMAGA doesn’t matter to use it hard or mall . As long as protect the from over scratch . Even after hard offroad and every wash I would like my car to look clean and less scratch.
