I constantly use this for simple LFO duty, but have always scratched my head over the more advanced functions, so thanks for this!

No problem. That's where I was for a very long time... :)

I have the red one of these and it is my favorite LFO even though I didn't fully understand it. This video answered my questions about it. I think seeing the waves on your oscilloscope helped wrap my head around what was going on. Thank you for the clear explanation.

Very useful video. I’ve just bought one of these on a whim despite having no idea what it did. Now I know…

Awesome! Glad I could help. I bought this on a whim as well and it just sat in my rack for a long time. I only really used it for basic LFOs for the longest time.

Such an excellent job explaining so many details in a relatable easy to understand way! I have this module too, and even though I know what it does sometimes I just look at it and just use the straight forward 145 lfo. You mentioned it, but I think the vca being bi-polar is really important, and can be used in powerful ways. Also I haven't tried it but the vca could be a ring mod likely in a pinch since it is bi--polar. One little thing I don't think you mentioned is only the triangle output is normalized to the vca for the delay circuit effects, so if you want another waveform to delay you need to patch it into the vca--simple but sometimes hard to remember to do. Look forward to checking out more of your videos. I really appreciate this kind of approach to synthesis.

    Great video!
I, too, really like Doepfer gear. But, this particular module is a funky animal for sure. I think it's a bit of an odd choice on Doepfer's part to make the default sawtooth rising, rather than falling. I'm a big fan of the sawtooth LFO sound and I always think it's strange when manufacturers do this. I understand that this design might utilize the rising sawtooth to greater effect than most, but still it's just weird. I will, nevertheless, be ordering an A-147-2 because it has all the features that I'm looking for in my next LFO purchase--and more.

Thanks for all your hard work on these awesome videos! I’ve been working with envelope followers, fixed filter banks, and crude types of vocoding. Do you have any ideas for advanced uses of these types of tools?

This makes me think of the Spectravox... I haven't dug into this kind of stuff too much! Maybe I should?

Can you maybe do a video on upgrading power when expanding your rack?
I'm at a point where I have maxed out my Tiptop ribbon power module, and I'm wanting to either get the Befaco Excalibus kit for a 13u 84hp homemade rack, or just get a Behringer 6u 140hp powered rack... but then I lose the 1u...
Cost is a major concern and I'm willing to lose the 1u option....
I know that would be a difficult video if you're not doing any expanding yourself. But maybe down the line... thanks for your work!!

Oh man. That would be a great video. There are just soooo many options. Did you buy the boost for your uZues? That will double it's power. And you can add extra flying buses to it.

I just built the big rack in the background from used parts and power supplies. I'd be happy to talk out some different options with you. braintree56music@gmail.com. If you have skills and tools to build the box, you'll have a lot of options. I'm still wary on Behringer's quality, but I've heard they've improved things over the years.
