I like this iteration of Dusttale!Sans. Doesn't waste time actually "getting to the point" with pointless dialogue and stays focused on his goal. No unnecessary 2nd or 3rd phases and I loved the flashbacks in between. Also it seems pretty damn difficult but not in an obnoxious manner, I will be trying this out!

I love how the bones are sometimes shaky and seemingly out of place. He's so full of rage that he doesn't have the time or patience anymore to have formality in his attacks, the bone attacks that rise up from the walls shaking seem like he's trying his best effort to extend them as far as he can to reach you. Same thing with his arm movement, his hands aren't straightened out when he tosses you, they're quickly thrown and his palm is kept open, doesn't even take the time to straighten that out he's so hellbent on taking you down.
theres very few bones that are straightened out during the battle so he still has patience its just very little

For only taking 4 months, this is better than most DUSTTALE takes that are in development for a year.
This is just a showcase. But for this one, something is interesting about this AU. I think what’s more disturbing is that Sans is not even talking or at least cracking of pun. He just remains quiet and the only thing he does is attack. I think the only thing that’s scary about this one is that he buried us alive to make us suffer and die a slow painful death... I like how there are no phases. It’s just straight to the point the skeleton no longer sees this as a joke anymore to him. He no longer truly cares about anything or anyone. The only thing that is left is empathy.. silent, insane empathy. The way that the background tells you his rage… The steaks that he has to go through just to get to this point to get on our L.O.V.E. Is enough explanation. He’s just gonna keep doing this until we quit. And he’s more determined than us… He’s just going to continue until there is a timeline where we don’t exist anymore. We deserve this.
It's less joking and more like he had sacrifice what was left of himself to get the job done.
He doesn't use manipulation anymore because ti doesn't work so he stops bothering.

One thing I didn't expect from this skeleton was silence, no puns or other dialog or monologues. I've always wanted to do something like this, something that could play on the player's emotions, but unfortunately I just don't understand how it works.
This Dusttale take is the only one that has managed to surprise me so much in all my time in the Undertale community. Really glad you've grown so much since the last time we worked on ROTM.

I really love this take on Dusttale. Instead of any dialogue or mention of resetting the world, Sans is just like you; Silent and doing nothing but attacking. He barely even gives you a chance to fight back, too. One swing at him and he goes all out immediately. Only nitpick I have is the inconsistency of the SAVE saying you are at LV 8 while in the battle itself, you are LV 10 for some reason.
I'll chuck it up to the lack of oxigen in frisks brain from all the countless times they've died a slow sufficating death while being buried alive, basically miss remembering how strong they actually were or something.

My take would be that Frisk's level of violence is 8 while our lv is 10 because we're doing all the job while frisk is the one suffering horrible deaths

This is the best take on dusttale i've ever seen. Sans being this unrecognizable force of nature that can't even speak to you through his grief.
Fighting in a chapel instead of the hall is sick. I love that there's no badass theme, the song just sounds like a shattered man's broken mind.
And I especially love that you *don't* win. Thats the realistic outcome.

@@liamnebula pretty sure you're left alive and unable to move so you can't really press the reset button but eh wouldn't make sense seeing how there's just a dialogue saying "you can't breathe." but the soul was never shown shattering so either this sans just takes your soul or just breaks it for good.

I love the feeling of silent anger coming from sans as he likely thinks of how far he had to go to put an end to this. No dialogue just small cutscenes and effects tell you the degree of madness and anger.

This feels more than just a Dusttale game, or any other Dusttale take that I’ve ever seen. We have how sans(?) is depicted, no longer telling jokes, threatening you, or even just saying a single word to you. His face is always shrouded in darkness, giving him a sense of inhumanity that the original sans had. And it can be noted that most of Sans attacks are incredibly unstable and unpredictable, giving all his attacks completely chaotic.
Everything else outside the actual fight is also spectacular. The feeling of the overworld is fittingly eerie and mysterious, and it makes me wonder how we (the player) got to this point? The addition of putting Sans within a chapel instead of continuing the theme of leaving him in the corridor is a good choice.
Overall, this is probably one of the best iterations of Dusttale that I’ve ever seen.

I also adhor the expansion of "New Home" location. Like, by a lot.
Not even counting accurate visual *soullessness* of the protagonist.

Absolute insanity. The blank faces to express both the player's and Sans's lack of emotion. Lack of dialogue, straight to the point. Music and cutscenes to convey emotion in place of dialogue.
Not to even mention Sans throwing an all out assult after the first swing. He can't even stop you by trying to keep his turn, so he just hits you with a cheap attack every single time you come back, just to doom you forever with a slow death until you quit.

sans burying you alive is actually insane
I love this interpretation of dust sans. Not because he's edgy and cool or whatever, but because it captures what the genocide run is at it's core. It's not a very fun route, removing the emotional attachment from the characters here, it's actually just straight up boring and repetitive, kinda how it's portrayed here. Sure you get to fight a cool looking boss in the end of your journey, but compare it to any other run and how you tend to have fun in does, how you connect with those characters, it makes you think if doing all this is really worth it.
And there's also the fact sans buries you alive too, using the technique his bother uses in his regular boss battle to technically not kill you, but knock you out, but instead of a poorly made cell, he just buries you. And he'll continue to do this, until you give up and never come back.
I only have ever done genocide route In undertale because I genuinely hate and despise the game and its quirky reddit characters so thank you Toby fox for making this route.

I love this concept that in order to stop the human from resetting, sans buries them alive with them not being able to escape.

@@sillypinkmoth they cant win, the souls vessel (frisk) is practically dead by this point due to the lack of oxygen depicted by burying scene, all they can do is reset and be trapped in a loop of loss. sans caught them in a loophole. Technically yeah it doesn't stop them from resetting, but they cant ever win.

That's ducking impressive, from the build up to the fight, the fact that it happens in a church/chapel, Sans who's dead silent, the flashbacks he has and finally instead of just losing and getting your soul taken from you You straight up get buried alive.

@@narrativeless404 Actually, you're wrong, chara isn't even alive at this point lmfao, it's just sans and Frisk, regular monsters can take a hit in hotlands when you're LV10, hell, even waterfall monsters can, so even if we did hit sans (which is impossible since he's abusing the "turn" mechanic where he just makes it last forever until he tires out) he'd take 3 or more hits to kill considering the narrative points out that sans is ALSO LV10, which means we're never winning unless one timeline sans slips up and gets off-guard killed which is the least likely situation, although it could happen lol

You're missing the point here: the regular Monsters can take a hit because they are unimportant and nobody really cares about them as they are weak anyway. The bosses get mostly 1 hit, and after Mettaton Chara begins to attack themselves, and the damage gets RIDICULOUS and it ignores DEF
Sans was killed off with an attack that would kill ANYONE in 1 hit, so just because Sans got some LV, he's still getting *99999999* obilterated
And even if Frisk's attack hits, Sans is not perceived as non threat, nobody is going to hold back and Sans is going to get 1 shot either way
Sans will ALWAYS get hit with an attack from Chara, which he can't expect and therefore, dodge
On top of that - using common sense, Murder Sans should be way worse at dodging than regular Sans, due to him being dragged down by the sins
Bro this fangame is so short but so sweet, I'd normally wish that this was longer, or a super-secret way to beat Sans, but I'm satisfied. The art is so good and tasteful, the rain ambience is so immersive, I love the use of churches thematically since Sans is Mr. Judgement himself, and I love the atmosphere and pacing. From a calm slow walk into oblivion, to the oblivion in question. A battle that's super sudden and erratic.
Though I know "wow, dusttale, Sans would never do that! He's too lazy and apathetic!" but the difference between IDUTSHANE Sans and Regular ol' dusttale Sans is that IDUTSHANE thinks outside the box like canon Sans (or... in the "box" in this case) and succeeds in what the og couldn't. Trapping the kid, forever, inescapable suffocation, and no way of winning. 10/10 peak Dusttale, definitely in my top 5 takes.
And don't even get me started on the church scene. Gave me so much chills because this implies that Sans killed everyone inside (he killed Alphys so there may or may not have been an evacuation). AND the implication that he buried some of them. (I think? You know the scene where crosses/gravemarkers appear behind him? Yeah.)

It is really important to notice that Sans doesn't go all out in his first attack when you first check him, after the second turn when you use your item, you heal but you did not attack him, so he gave you another turn, it is when you attack him that the music changes and he goes all out on you. Could've been that he held a bit of hope still? anyways he ended up dunking the player hah
Dude, you cooked so hard that it's unfathomable. This is the best take on DustTale yet, none of that "power of friendship" bs, just 2 villains fighting reset after reset, hunting down as many monsters they can before the big fight. Genuinely great game, i wish there was a whole game made for this take specifically.
The sound effects on the first part were amazing and all the visual in the fight were really good and I really liked it and the fight itself is very good and I like how your movement need to be pretty precise with all thoses bones really good ❤

This is so good, the details are amazing and the fact that this game has zero dialogues make the atmosphere really intense, and with the sans character design and character in general it becomes even better, i gotta say this is a lot better then the cannon dusttale
I've haven't played any Undertale fangames in a LONG time (even then I barely played them) but for some reason I just feel like I needed to play this one. I didn't even know it was possible for me to beat since I've never played a hard fangame like this but once I've found the method to the madness this turned out to be a really fun fight. Thanks for making this bro!
Dude I downloaded this an hour ago as a funny joke to show my friends overtly bullet hell fight but its actually one of the only "bullet hell" fights that is unironically super fun to play. However long it took you to make this fight do it again this is fire
It's a pretty cool depiction of dusttale and sans itself, but the game is too short...
The fact that the battle ends within 2 attacks shows that sans succeded in his quest to stop the human, which is interesting, specially for dusttale in my opinion, however, there's no build up since the game starts in the end.

You have cooked, I also imagined a dusttale about sans not talking at all but just being overall horrifying but you did it first sooo.
This is so well made, you got the perfect aspect of dust sans and made it amazing and terrifying, this is the best dust sans fangame fight ive ever seen hands down, the emotion, the empty void of life throughout the world, and its so different from other mods, love the visuals throughout the fight, gives it a crazy reflection of sans's feelings and well being and how much it affected him. Hands down the best mod, mad potential man
definitely the best dusttale sans fight yet. Very high quality in presentation, no jokes or any actual dialogue from sans showing how much he just wants you dead, and the frantic, intense music that wraps it all up. Not to mention the high quality breaks in the fight that show what sans has done.
Hoooooly hell. This is....damn. theres always been a lot of potential for a horror game with dusttale, and this iteration specifically is like if dusttale and HELPtale fused. Its haunting and beautiful. Frisk's body lacking a face bc it no longer has an identity, same as sans' hoodie hiding his because his self has been so thoroughly shattered and replaced only with hatred and rage.
The ending really surprised me tho. Ive seen and read sans kill chara in a multidtude of ways...but thats a new one. Very poetic.
This is one of the best dusttale anythings i think ive seen in my 9 years on this fandom. The other is the Villain animatic, for similar reasons lol.

this was actually fucking *awesome* dude, first of all the tone shift from all the other fangame takes just feels off yet perfectly right, the way that the whole world is completely devoid of color just feels off, it's completely gloomy.
sans isn't even at the hall anymore and you can't even find asgore.
you litterally need to take a different path to get to him which is also honestly really sick for worldbuilding, it also builds up pretty well to when you eventually reach sans aswell, the fact that he is *completely silent* aside from attacking just feels wrong, he's *"a shell of once was."*
the fight too is just awesome, it felt like visual spectacle with all the cuts to the flashbacks, especially 7:19 with how it shows the monsters that you and he killed, which i honestly love because it shows you he's not some over the top edgy killing machine but rather a man desperately trying to gain as much power as possible even if it meant taking the lives of others, just so he can stop you, also the little detail with how most of the bones look really crumpeled or just overall not straight feels like a nice detail imo, it shows that even hus attacks are starting to wear off just like his mental state, and yet he doesn't care about it as long as it gets the job done, also really love that the fight didn't overstay it's welcome with extra phases, sans is completely *STRAIGHT to the point.*

My friend just showed me this game, easily one of my favorites now. The sans boss fight has easily some of the best gameplay and music I’ve ever been graced witnessing, hopefully the ost gets put up on TH-cam. Thank you, everyone who worked on this masterpiece!!! :]

I’m surprised that this is really well made! I like the end of the fight where sans just puts him to the ground and let it live, really puts a creepy vibe with it. Also with the realistic pics and the quick timing pics that are shown is just bombing with the soundtrack.

Notice when you lose against him, he didn't actually kill you, the game straight up cut to the coffin scene. *He buried you alive* , making sure every last moment until the reset, you'll suffocate and die in the coffin.
