I've had the chance to talk to Jack Bergin on two different tours, and he is easily one of the kindest and most golden souls you could ever meet. Void of Vision is a gift to this planet.
I just said the same thing in my comment. Jack is an incredible person. we have to support them at all costs👏
@@avidglorymet him twice as well. Can confirm this, he’s a great dude!

"this song is hitting hard..." *starts clapping*
Man I'm really glad for finding out about these bands like Void of Vision, Annalyn, Oklahoma Kid, etc thru your channel.
Metalcore right now is probably at its best
This song hit way too hard!
Peak metalcore was definitely 10 or so years ago with what was available at the time but the creativity in 2024 is wild.
“Gamma knife is a type of radiotherapy treatment using very precise beams of gamma rays to treat an area of disease of the brain.”
“Gamma knife is the second I knew everything could be taken away and the second I wanted to change all of it”
“Gamma knife is a point of change, a call to action and a time stamp of my life that will change forever”
Reference from Jack bergin
This whole album seems to be a reference to his feelings on facing mortality with his AVM
10 years ago we got albums like restoring force and everchanger but I overall like more current albums than I do the ones a decade ago
Metalcore is at its peak right now. There are so many interesting and cool bands with super unique sounds. Also, this year is absolutely stacked in terms of upcoming releases from bands like Graphic Nature, Void of Vision, Windwaker, Future Palace, Consvmer, The Home Team, Bilmuri, Thrown, Foreign Hands, and more. That’s also not including albums that have already dropped and unannounced albums.
I def agree, also My band Haunted Vessel has a ton of metalcore coming out this year. We’re heavily influenced by invent animate, currents, the devil wears Prada, and silent planet. You should give us a spin!🤘🎃 we just dropped our second single. It’s called “Mrked”
I personally prefer 2024 metalcore. However, I do think that there is some merit to the "gatekeeper" perspective. The genre has underwent such a significant change in sound that I understand why old metalcore fans are dissatisfied with what has essentially overtaken their genre and yoinked the term.
modern metalcore isn't really metalcore. there's rarely hardcore influence or ties in many of the popular bands, which is an essential aspect of the genre. not saying any of the bands that don't have those ties are bad, there's plenty of great ones, but they're not metalcore. like you said, tons of bands have latched onto the term, which makes tons of people (many in this very community!) think they like metalcore but they actually just like alt metal with breakdowns. the genre has become misrepresented. i.e., i would not classify this song in this video is not metalcore at all!
@@dietcokechampI think that's exactly why the scene is better now. You have older bands that are willing to try something new since the production has gotten much better over the years as well as newer bands like foreign hands that are keeping the older sound alive
@@joshdimichele18 metalcore in its perfect form is raw and abrasive. it's apart of the style and in turn makes it more interesting to listen to. more production =/= better production. the band's that are *actually* metalcore do this
@dietcokechamp I mean that's your opinion and that's fine lol. But the use of technology is natural progression not only in music but life and people will always try new things if they have access to it. Why would you want a genre to stay the same forever. Plus like I said there are still older and newer bands that carry that raw sound in today's scene so everybody should be happy lol
@@joshdimichele18i never said anything about the genre staying the same! there are plenty of bands trying new things while maintaining the raw edge lmfao
i saw this in my recommended this morning and gave it a listen and i knew a reaction was coming, i havent really kept up with these dudes but after this single im excited for the new album!
i really got into post hardcore/ metalcore back in the late 2000/ early 2010's so that shift in sound around 2014 was jarring and kind of made me fall out of love with what older bands were up to and how the newer bands followed. I still miss the all gas no breaks angsty adhd core but i have been really liking what all these bands have been putting out there as of lately.
Love following along with all the bands you chose to react to and your takes - VOV is KILLING it!
I saw them live for the first time at the Erra Tour and I swear they are EPIC AF. They have the most consistent songs for a live show, I sang and went crazy the whole show hahaha. I also have time to talk to Jack a little bit and he's a really nice person. 💥
2024 has been a crazy fucking year brother, sooooo many insane drops by so many banger albums. Knocked Loose, Like Moths To Flames, Dealer, Void of Vision and Half me are also coming out with singles leading into an album, invent animate, Imminence. Like duuuuuudeee. There is so much new great music in such a short amount of time.
I prefer the metalcore era from 2012-2017 personally, there is many exceptions in 2018 onwards like Alien and many more very good albums, but i always find myself coming back to albums like Augment by ERRA, Souvenirs by Novelists, Everchanger/Stillworld by Invent Animate and AOGHAU by Architects. There is just so much emotion in this albums.
I love Jack so much
i will always prefer older metalcore! i gotta have that hardcore rawness in my heavy music which is why the newer bands i fuck with are foreign hands, boundaries, etc.
Have you heard Saviour's album from 2022?
I like the song, but I really wish they paid off that opening build up with a NASTY verse or even a breakdown before unveiling the chorus
GREAT SONG!
I'm not really a huge fan of VoV, but they're great live.
This song was sick af
New Allt is out, homie
🔥🔥🔥
I prefer 2024. Metalcore is in a such a great position. Genre bending as well as some major increase in quality of riffs and song writing. Amazing. Void of vision is awesome. Saw them live with ERRA. And damn!
Noti gannnng
React to ALLT - Remnant
Honestly in 2014, metalcore as a whole was it’s most creatively bankrupt, so definitely 2024 😅. Now, 2004 tho…👀
Bogdan, you and the entire metalcore community are sleeping on my bands new single “Mrked” that just dropped… we’re called haunted vessel… go check us out if you want a new metalcore banger 🙏🤘
This song is clearly about Jacks experience with his ateriovenious malformation in his brain.
A gamma knife is medical tech treatment for AvM
His podcast with Craig reynolds he explains a scenario virtually identical to what happens in the music video.
