The Boston QZ was operational in TLOU Part 1 with the fireflies being wiped out. In all likelihood I'd say Boston, Washington DC and probably Hawaii are military run
@AKblackandredYT Hawaii has a massive military population in proportion to its civilian population. Per google: Hawaii has more than 42,000 active duty service members, which is over 10% of the state's population: Army: 15,346 active duty personnel Marine Corps: 6,453 active duty personnel Navy: 13,558 active duty personnel Air Force: 5,403 active duty personnel Coast Guard: 1,260 Coast Guard personnel It's an island that has the ability to be self-sustaining in terms of food production and it would be completely cut off from the outside due to the large Naval and Air force presence on the island so any insurgent factions would be completely cut off from outside help, and it's relatively difficult in comparison with the rest of the country to obtain firearms so effective armed resistance in the quarantine zone would border on impossible The military would have had a relatively simple time of clearing out the handful of populated areas on Oahu, and once they had set up Quarantine Zones to control the bulk of the remaining uninfected population, I could very well see Hawaii being the Central Command for whatever remains of the federal government.
There about no more than 7 QZs remaining east of the Appalachian mountains if we can believe they actually still exist and that’s not just FEDRA propaganda to stop panic. But none west of that made it on the continental US. But I can see Hawaii being the new seat of government. I think overall they lost too many resources and man power to actually rebuild the US so they are just maintaining the QZs with no real longterm goals other than just running them
Fedra still has operational helicopter and air assets , the helicopter you found in the game crash was recent so i guess fedra still has more power and stable in some cities
The game obviously wants you to hate fedra but i cant, its the literal zombie apocalypse and society has collapsed, you dont survive and have some kind of civilization by being nice. I genuinely support fedra in this universe
@@AKblackandredYTjackson is small compared to a large city with tons of population now that I think about it every faction in the last of us is unable to ever control a city in apocalypse like even after fedra is overthrown the new rules can't even control it.
@@axel665 True. Although I think scarcity is probably a bigger factor than anything. Harder to control a population on rations that are unreliable with lots of threats but no promises than to build cooperation in a community that grows and produces and gives everyone a say.

It’s really weird they’d didn’t try moving out to the country side where they’d could grow food and have less overall problems. If it were me. The QZs would be existing military bases, airports, oil fields, and tracks farmland. I can get why they made them in cities trying to save as much people as possible and utilize the existing infrastructure but long term it wasn’t a good plan. Now they are pretty much stranded in the cities
Well in the DLC we learn Fedra is expanding into other neighborhoods, and probably has some kind of farming/livestock system in place after 20 years to support themselves. There is also a harbor nearby so outside rations/supplies are probably being ferried in by naval personal

Probably ran into staffing issues and a lack of specialists. I’d put a premium on Cheyenne Mountain, Offut AFB, MacDill AFB, and Wright-Patterson in particular, but all of those require large cadres of mechanics, technicians, and equipment operators that extensive training.
Yeah, I 100% bet FEDRA would probably still hold on to Atlanta. In both universes. Cause that's where the CDC is, so the government would probably see it as a high valued city. Hell, if there's any city FEDRA would probably hold on to for dear life, it'd probably be Atlanta. Then again, the Fireflies would probably find it very valuable too. Again, because of the CDC. So I guess depending on how powerful the fireflies really are, and how kept in check the civilians of Atlanta are, Atlanta could've easily fell.
I think Atlanta is supposed to be the capital, they seem to try and infer it by showing the Pittsburgh governor reporting to Atlanta, and boston having supplies coming from the city.
Personally, I believe that what is killing/ has killed FEDRA for the most part is how hungry for power people tend to be, most locations that have fallen, seemingly had no contact with QZ’s outside of their own, and that’s why they fell, when uprisings happen like in Pittsburg and Seattle, it’s from rebellious group inside of the QZ, with effective strategies, weaponry, and most of all, backup forces, (which would all be available if they had contact with other QZ’s), this wouldn’t be a problem and QZ’s falling would be much rarer, most QZ’s have fell to either infected like Las Vegas or been taken over, which have all seemingly examples of not helping or working with outside FEDRA forces The reason why is again, power, they want complete control over their respective QZ’s, this is why so many have fallen and why places like Boston are still standing, Boston works with other places, as can be seen in bills town with the FEDRA convoy which hit the high school and the show as “Atlanta” which supplies Boston with bullets and medicine I’m very interested in if they will expand into FEDRA more if part 3 happens
Lowkey would be like wwz where the milltary would be active in Hawaii Alaska Guam etc. but we’re lucky that irl our milltary would actually be effective like wwz
Also forgot to mention a lot of patrols into mainland USA come from one city where the cdc head quarters are I think Atlanta so with this it can be thought that Atlanta is most fortified quartine zone with helicopters and jets (f22)
World War Z’s infection is nothing compared to the infection of TLOU. Even The Walking Dead has a more dangerous infection than WWZ. I’m not saying anything about the story quality, as WWZ is better than both in terms of narrative.
I feel like Washington DC or any surrounding cities in the DMV area would likely still be hubs for FEDRA city’s such as Annapolis MD capital or Richmond VA capital. In my opinion DC is a good option but we have to remember with the chaos of the outbreak and the high population it likely would have fell to infected if it wasn’t squashed in the early days.
Also since the military took over and removed bureaucrats from power they may have decided Washington wasn’t as essential to control militarily as other locations
the military was completely absorbed by FEDRA in the early days. all personnel were drafted into FEDRA, but i imagine there arent many original service members still serving in FEDRA in the modern day
I have no evidence to support it, by I would strongly suspect that FEDRA has turned Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket into strongholds from which to maintain maritime connections to the Boston and Hartford QZs among other coastal locations. Both islands are just the right distance from the mainland to keep infected and people without skill in boating from reaching them, while they in turn could launch missions to the mainland with their forces who are more experienced in boating and can probably better maintain some semblance of a navy in the post-apocalypse. Also, both islands have decent-sized airfields with which to base whatever remaining aircraft FEDRA might have out of. Finally, I think both islands are just the right size to house a population that is large enough to be a powerful and industrialized force, but small enough that FEDRA can keep its eyes on everything and not accidently grow to a population it cannot sustain. One additional note: I think fishing would be one of the main ways to get large amounts of food in TLOU's world, since farms risk cordyceps contamination and need constant work to grow a successful crop, whereas the fish populations are probably bouncing back exponentially with most of the world dead or otherwise incapable of industrial-scale fishing.
FEDRA could still somewhat have control of the Navy, can’t say they have colonies or some weird stuff like that but it’s mostly likely that they do have some sort of naval operations. FEDRA in Boston is for now fully in control after they defeated, i mean FEDRA wiped the floor of fireflies, i dunno much about the Atlanta QZ or the Denver QZ or if there are any other QZs that aren’t mention, maybe some in washington DC or in say, New Orleans or other major cities or maybe in other american territories such as Anchorage in Alaska or Honolulu hawaii. Still if FEDRA had control of the renments of the USN then it would be possible for them to administrate those QZs if there were any.

not really, even Bill said right now only the military is still making truck. so I'd say military lost some of the QZ, but still maintain some of them.
I would say that there are still at most a dozen around the country, because there are a lot more than people expect. We know that in New England, a minimum of Springfield (MA) providence, Hartford, and Boston all possessed qzs because of the evacuation busses in Lincoln. Those are all large cities, but I feel there is a misconception in how big these zones had to be. The Hartford zone was only falling apart at the start of the first game, so I would bet that maybe one of those other zones could be operational. Makes you think the chance in Part 3 with FEDRA making a major push to reclaim territory. Even more so if they discover the less likely chance of finding someone like Ellie. Just a thought, would be crazy if Jackson was put under siege.
majority of these creatures are indeed dead. We know their lifespans can be 2-20+ years. Most of them turn into spores, with some being very old clickers or turning into bloaters. But that also means majority of humanity are also dead. The only canon estimate is that in the initial outbreak humanity lost 60% of it's population in 1 year. That's a lot. The show kinda expains why that much died immediately, something about grain being contaminated and shipped across the globe. Then add another 19 years of people getting infected since spores/contaminants never really went away. The population taking a nose dive honestly seem to be the bigger problem than the monsters themselves as that much people dying in the course of 20 years had collapsed civilization as we know it. i'd say the show would be a more accurate representation of how many infected there are. They can walk around without encountering much infected, but still not letting their guard down. The game of course have tons more so that the player has something to fight. While Fedra as an organization may be collapsing left right and center, Humanity itself seem to be making a comeback, with the threat of extinction becoming unlikely. places like WLF stadium, Scars Island, Jackson, Rattlers Compound, and even David's town all rose up just a few years ago before the game's/series' timeline, but each had their own problems. WLF stadium seems like they had potential to become a community like jackson, but we discovered them during an open war against the Scars so they were very hostile to anyone that isn't them, while also acting as if they were under martial law Rattlers compound's foundation is built upon slavery. Scars Island are fanatics with an on and off history of being openly hostile or isolationist. David's town seem to be unable to sustain themselves especially during winters. Jackson had problems with bandits. Do you see something in common with all of their problems? none of them are centered around the monsters.
Honestly the problem is that FEDRA put up all those QZ in high population areas which of course made sense at the time during the outbreak but now 20 years on it's not a great location to be in because you have a high population of infected and because of the high density of buildings and skyscrapers its hard to expand so the Ideal thing to do would be to go out into the country side and rebuild there because that's where there isn't a high concentration of infected and you have a lot of breathing room for your population and also are much closer to farming land. But of course moving from a city QZ would be a logistical nightmare but something that i think FEDRA should be focusing on for it's future.
I like to think my Hometown Philly survived for a few years but probably taking over the northeast or southwest neighborhoods but probably succumb to the same fate as Pittsburgh
honestly makes sense to have some troops be fully armored since most infected attacks with melee. Even if its not bulletproof, I doubt most infected can get through decent armor.
I mean Fedra is still around because the northern eastern states would be very prominently strong like Boston 20 years later And seeing theres trading communites between boston and atlanta On a convo between joel and a soldier trading for drugs I can imagine QZs like NYC and its burroughs ,Newark NJ (North Jersey) Trenton NJ (South Jersey ) and Philadelphia PA and the Carolinas and Virginias and Ohio being still operational and even parts of canada like toronto and quebec to be around Also would imagine the next TLOU3 game would be a game taking place in the desert region In Arizona and Las Vegas on the way to Texas where joel is from to make the game come full circle in a weird way and we can see how hotter climates make infected any different like the rain and water flood climates did in seattle for the infected and winter climate In Jackson And see how fedra fell in the hot climates But yeah theres so much lore than meets the eye
Yeah and I feel like the Fireflies could never successfully defeat Fedra on their own, they either failed miserably or they’d always outsource and reach out to other groups for help, like they failed miserably in Boston and in Pittsburgh they had the Hunters help them and I’m sure the Fireflies and Hunters worked together to destroy the Hartford Qz too, and in Seattle the WLF never needed the help of the Fireflies, they were able to defeat Fedra all on their own!
If something could destroy fedra would be over extension, 'evacuating' (leaving behind) the least productive/more problematic QZs to centralize resources on promising QZs would be a sound strategy
I suspect that Fedras HQ could be in Nevada like Area 51, a literal fortress in modern times, Thousands of soldiers, Enough weapons to fight of anything and enough protection from intruders cctv etc…
@@Czar_hunter6058, this and the parasite are immune to traditional vaccination attempts. You'll need the same techniques that created the most successful COVID-19 vaccines (the 'traditional' methodology of vaccination has a literal coinflip on whether you die to vaccine complications or not; mRNA vaccines are the least likely to kill you if traditional vaccines fail... funnily enough, SARS had the same problem, which led to the development of mRNA vaccines) to even have hope to stop it, as the parasite is literally in the food supply.
the legitimacy of administration acts like martial law may be questionable at best in the event the government as a whole (Executive, Legislative, Judicial) has totally collapsed. At that point, at the latest, the imposed rules of FEDRA-controlled zones might as well be referred to as depotism.
Im surprised cities as big as Seattle and Pittsburgh even Salt Lake City would be overrun by the rebels you’d think with the national guard and all domestic forces it’d be hard for the survivors and fireflies to over throw them
If the country is disconnected and closed off in QZs with the military having to manage all of them and supply lines between them not always reliable, then it becomes a lot easier.
Question? What ever happened to the Air Force or navy ? I played both games , wondering if the army rolled in and try to stop the infection but failed etc
Fedra is most likely falling back to there main central command hqs in places such as LA Hawaii possibly Alaska also Houston or somewhere in texas and i know places like the Boston Quarantine zone is still barely holding on and about like 5 to 7 other quarantine zones that are doing good and will hold on for a long time as far as we can see i do know that there are 5 quarantine zones in and around Appalachia with everything west of those quarantine zones either have fallen or are either isolated or currently unable to contact command or any other zones outside of there own zone and as the question about fedra as a whole for each zone that collapses gets overrun the remaining remnants of fedra from those zones that haven't been killed or turned most likely fell back to the nearest central command hq or a nearby zone taking with them small portions of rations equipment and the likes bolstering there numbers and everything else in those zones or hqs but as for the hqs they are probably building up there manpower equipment resources and everything else from zones that were abandoned by fedra or little remnants that survived being overrun by infected or uprisings so the second option is most likely what fedra central high command is doing and possibly in the future we could see fedra taking back large parts of the country from the wolfs fireflies and in places with uprisings from the civilian population that created there own separate groups and small medium and large group's of infected
You know, it'd be funny if the military had a bigger presence outside of the U.S. continental mainland, like in the Middle East or East Asia. Unlikely, but it'd be interesting to see the U.S. in exile.
@@wickdaline8668we have nothing to suggest it was going to. Boston was doing fine, it COULD have fell but thats just being hopeful (that it did) more than anything. In other QZs, we see very clear issues or struggles which Boston has solved (mostly).

It's an island that has the ability to be self-sustaining in terms of food production and it would be completely cut off from the outside due to the large Naval and Air force presence on the island so any insurgent factions would be completely cut off from outside help, and it's relatively difficult in comparison with the rest of the country to obtain firearms so effective armed resistance in the quarantine zone would border on impossible

Makes you think the chance in Part 3 with FEDRA making a major push to reclaim territory. Even more so if they discover the less likely chance of finding someone like Ellie. Just a thought, would be crazy if Jackson was put under siege.
Shouldn’t within 20 years the majority of these creatures be dead? Like irl ants die quickly from the infection.
Well its convenient for the plot which is just like the game and tv series dumb and gay
majority of these creatures are indeed dead.
WLF stadium seems like they had potential to become a community like jackson, but we discovered them during an open war against the Scars so they were very hostile to anyone that isn't them, while also acting as if they were under martial law
Rattlers compound's foundation is built upon slavery.
Scars Island are fanatics with an on and off history of being openly hostile or isolationist.
David's town seem to be unable to sustain themselves especially during winters.
Jackson had problems with bandits.
Do you see something in common with all of their problems? none of them are centered around the monsters.
Do more of these lore videos! I liked the one you did with Issac a few months ago
San francisco going off the factions 2 concept art DEFINIRELY collapsed
Would love to see a zombie game where the military dosent immediately fail.
1:02 looks like guy in EXO suit on the right
It possibly is. This is from the concept art
i think its just riot gear
His pack looks like it's got an air filtration system so it may be a mix of CBRN and "Normal" kit whatever that may be.
honestly makes sense to have some troops be fully armored since most infected attacks with melee. Even if its not bulletproof, I doubt most infected can get through decent armor.

I mean Fedra is still around because the northern eastern states would be very prominently strong like Boston 20 years later
And seeing theres trading communites between boston and atlanta
On a convo between joel and a soldier trading for drugs
I can imagine QZs like NYC and its burroughs ,Newark NJ (North Jersey)
Trenton NJ (South Jersey ) and Philadelphia PA and the Carolinas and Virginias and Ohio being still operational and even parts of canada like toronto and quebec to be around
Also would imagine the next TLOU3 game would be a game taking place in the desert region
In Arizona and Las Vegas on the way to Texas where joel is from to make the game come full circle in a weird way and we can see how hotter climates make infected any different like the rain and water flood climates did in seattle for the infected and winter climate
In Jackson
And see how fedra fell in the hot climates
But yeah theres so much lore than meets the eye
I hope TLOU3 addresses the fate p
Of FEDRA
Yeah like a prequel and sequel at the same time
I suspect that Fedras HQ could be in Nevada like Area 51, a literal fortress in modern times, Thousands of soldiers, Enough weapons to fight of anything and enough protection from intruders cctv etc…
Either FEDRA or an isolated but protected community, those are the only choices I would pick.
I thought that said “fedora” for a moment and I was confused
lol
With the last of us part 3, I think fedra has at least 25000 - 40000 soldiers
Why hasnt the US navy in hawaii or washington reclaimed large swathes of land already?
Not enough manpower
@@Czar_hunter6058, this and the parasite are immune to traditional vaccination attempts. You'll need the same techniques that created the most successful COVID-19 vaccines (the 'traditional' methodology of vaccination has a literal coinflip on whether you die to vaccine complications or not; mRNA vaccines are the least likely to kill you if traditional vaccines fail... funnily enough, SARS had the same problem, which led to the development of mRNA vaccines) to even have hope to stop it, as the parasite is literally in the food supply.
Fedras central command may be on an aircraft carrier
Tlou needs a spin off game set in the very beginning following a fedra perspective
the legitimacy of administration acts like martial law may be questionable at best in the event the government as a whole (Executive, Legislative, Judicial) has totally collapsed.
@@AKblackandredYTalso ignoring maybe fedra soldiers got fed up and joined many rebels that's what happened with wlf with many deserving fedra
Every one talks about Boston Seattle Atlanta DC in the last of us what about New York never heard anyone mention New York in any of this lol ?
New york in promotional artwork is a fortress like Boston
I wish the Last of us 2 stoped being canon
Who’d wanna live in a QZ? Screw that.
I rather deal with fedra government the infected or hunters
You know, it'd be funny if the military had a bigger presence outside of the U.S. continental mainland, like in the Middle East or East Asia. Unlikely, but it'd be interesting to see the U.S. in exile.

thousands of infected in vegas according to ellie
They likely all died out.
Boston was still going strong. Not likely.
@bluejaysfan965 By the time TLOU2 occurred, it still could have fallen apart.
I'd bet there are still some out there. Maybe more if they didn't just stick to QZs, maybe bases and the such
@@wickdaline8668we have nothing to suggest it was going to. Boston was doing fine, it COULD have fell but thats just being hopeful (that it did) more than anything.
In other QZs, we see very clear issues or struggles which Boston has solved (mostly).
