Hands down one of the BEST voices in all music. Hearing something new from Chester almost 6 years after his passing is haunting and beautiful at the same time.
Chester is one of my top 5 singers ever, and his voice is so unique and beautiful, and the lyrics are so powerful after you know... And you are right, is such a gift to have a "new" Linkin Park song to experience for the first time.
I got chills. It's like when one of your favorite actors passes away. Then later they are in a new movie and it makes you appreciate and miss them even more.
I woke up at 6am and saw this song from LP in my feed, immediately clicked it, heard Chester's voice singing lyrics I haven't heard before, and just lost it and started crying, never thought I'd hear new song from him. I'm glad you and so many others have become LP fans since his passing, and that their wonderful music that shaped who I am as a person, is being appreciated by new ears.
Chester being iconic not just for his voice but his ability to help save millions will always leave a tear in my eyes whenever i listen to his songs. Iridescent being one that really saved me. I always knew of / understood the lyrics, the pain, sadness (to a degree though varying differences with experiences) but his songs really do hit different now, a lot more than before. He left a forever impact. This song being another one.

We have a giant mural of Chester in our offices where I work. There is never a day, that I pass through that doorway where the mural is honoring his life and don't honor him. What a blessing that they cataloged music so that not only we who enjoyed him in real time can hear his voice and the band again, but also a new generation will get introduced to this band is a new way. I generally do not care about famous people dying, and I think fandom has become way to much. people are fan of everything. Chester and LP to me have always meant a lot. Not going to lie, even as a grow man when I heard Chester's voice on something new the tears started. That bridge gets me every time even today. Their music was a huge part of my teenage and young adult years until we lost him. I had a hard time listening to them again until this came out. Crazy that this didn't make the cut for Meteora.

I remember listening to their last album before Chester passed and i didnt appreciate on first listen, as it wasnt as heavy as say their previous album the hunting party, having grown up with LP i wanted the heavier music, but listening back after Chester passed away and was able to really appreciate and understand where Chester was mentally in that moment, and he said himself in an interview, he wasnt in a good place mentally during the making of the album. It was a beautiful album to listen to. This is such a gift and a beautiful song and so lovely to hear Chesters voice again in a new song. Linkin Park were so ahead of their time and it is sad to know that they will never make music again with him, but most of all, its devastating for his family and friends and for anyone who is affected by Suicide. He record an EP with Stone Temple Pilots it's called Hige Rise, check the songs Cry Cry and Out of Time. In 2019, Mark Morton, guitarrist of Lamb of God, release an album with a song called Cross Off featuring Chester.

Mike Shinoda has actually told some backstory about this song and how it didn’t make the album. This is the finished product from 2003. They didn’t remaster it or anything. They just threw it into their Meteora archives. It was the 13th song of the album and they were only allowed 12 songs so they decided to keep Numb and lose Lost!!! It was the first song they finished after the making of Hybrid Theory and Reanimation!

You are correct, this song, like Chester's life, is far too short! I suffer from depression and the lyrics to this song hit me hard. Both the lyrics and Chester's emotional vocals work together to create something so painful, but somehow beautiful. Chester was a phenomenal artist and I wish he was still here creating amazing music along with his talented cohorts in Linkin Park!

Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands from the first time I heard them. Two of my favorite songs was Numb and In The End. There genre was a mixture of so many things, Alternative rock alternative metal, nu metal, rap rock and electronic rock. Chester was one of the best vocalists ever in my opinion.

You are correct, this song, like Chester's life, is far too short! I suffer from depression and the lyrics to this song hit me hard. Both the lyrics and Chester's emotional vocals work together to create something so painful, but somehow beautiful. Chester was a phenomenal artist and I wish he was still here creating amazing music along with his talented cohorts in Linkin Park!

Not gonna lie, I hadn't listened to it yet, because I wasn't emotionally prepared. Had to check it out before I watched this though. As always with this band, it stirred up a lot of feelings to unpack.
Often copied, but never equaled. Musically and especially vocally, an inspiration to an entire generation. 🙏🏻👆🏻
As for so many others out there, I also grew up with Linkin Park's music, and it has been with me through positive but also many dark phases, which is why it has become a part of me that I will never forget. These lyrics strike to the core and couldn't be more cringing, knowing today what it has led Chester to....

Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands from the first time I heard them. Two of my favorite songs was Numb and In The End. There genre was a mixture of so many things, Alternative rock alternative metal, nu metal, rap rock and electronic rock. Chester was one of the best vocalists ever in my opinion.
