Anyone who’s done the lifters and still stumped my Evo 9 A/C pulley failed and sounded like this but worse. Was sure engine was somehow dead. Always worth trying running it without the belt on to check if you’re ever stumped with a rattle.
Package comes with 8 of them. I think your problem is rod knock tho. When you get above 3k the tapping noise should go away, in your video it doesn't seem to go away which means it's probably not the lifters
thanks if is a rod knock i would hear it on the block it sounds on top on the head by the first spark plug on the side of the timing belt is hard to hear where is coming from just changed the oil to royal purple and is quieter but i can still hear it but is def something lol am kind of being a zombie with this noise i
did you have to do something to lifters before put them on i heard some mechanics saying that they need to be put on oil overnight to fill out or something like that , you just put them on or is something i need to know please help i appreciate your help .
It was the lifters... Changed them to the JAM lifters, no more ticking

In this particular case, lifters 100% rod knock is alot more distinct. It's louder and more violent.

Would I be able to tell a bad lifter once it's pulled from the motor?

+Mario Rivera did you look at your oil. Or cut open the filter and see if there are shaving or metal
