It’s a battery extender! Use it when the phone is 100% charged and it will ensure it remains at 90% for hours. It’s not designed to use when the phone is already low on charge
Sick video man. You’re awesome and I hope time finds a way to free up enough for you to keep giving insight. Just snagged one of these babies for $20 on eBay. Cheers to you and yours
Apparently this battery pack is actually for maintaining an already charged iPhone instead of putting it on an iPhone that has a low battery. Its purpose is to keep the phone charged for much longer. So, if a person knows they are going to have a long busy day coming they should put the fully charged battery pack on a fully charged phone and head out for the day…it does a much better job that way….
Does it charge even if it has say 0 or 1% juice and its on charging? Basically will it work later as a magsafe charger once the battries degrade in couple of years?
I don’t have any way of testing that unfortunately as it’s too early to say. However based off the way it works I’d say no. Similar to a power bank that has gone dead won’t provide any charge if plugged in
@@PersianPrinceTech thanks for responding first of all! So when u say its too early, how much of a life u expect for this product? Do the batteries degrade same as the iphone ones say 10% health drop in an year or so?? Do we see battery health % at all for this accessory??
Mine personally over the past year has degraded & the device itself was probably made close to 2 years ago. I’ve definitely seen a drop in its capacity, but that’s probably about 10% at best. So I think from an average use case you’re looking at a good few years before it goes completely, nothing to worry about. However rumours of apple releasing a new updated battery with USB-C… 👀
I am not getting the option in low power mode in notification centre to toggle Charge past 90 to on/off. By default its charging more than 90 on my iphone 12!
Apparently it’s a known issue by Apple that this happens! However I’ve tried it on 3 different iPhones and not seen this happen & still get the option for it to charge up to 90% or past to 100% Seems as though it’s a bit of a hit and miss issue, unresolved though. IMO, will probably stay unresolved as Apple have removed it from sale due to the Lightning port on it. As annoying as it may sound, perhaps try a back-up & full reinstall of your iOS on device, or make sure the firmware version on the MagSafe battery is at version 2.7.b.0 I reckon a USB-C version is on the way…

Honestly thank you! I’m always afraid of getting hit by negative comments on my content. This was the best comment I’ve ever received, thank you ✌️
