Anker 620 has an updated version. With charging port on a side and ability to disable charging and use the thing as a stand basically. All those changes make it a way better product
So the best MagSafe Battery pack IS STILL THE Apple given it's the only one with the right size to just throw on the back and then throw it in your back pocket and not have to think about it (unless you have a purse then get one of the giagators you suggest). iPhone battery is low... throw it on the back and keep going like it isn't there (MagSafe magnets are plenty strong on the Apple)... you can't do that with those massive lumps you suggest. None of my use/work flows change! Hope they come out with a BLACK USB-C version (to match the darker Pro models) so you can recharge the battery pack faster would be great! I use my current Apple MagSafe Battery daily so I don't have to leave my phone on a MagSafe charger or plugged in... I can just keep going. Great under appreciated product in real world use. Also as someone else said... there is no more iPhone mini... make the battery packs the width of the iPhone 15 so they can be slimmer in thickness!
You gotta try the new anker maggo line! They have moved the port, made an ultra slim power bank with no stand, and even have a stand version that charges like the otter box. They have some fun colors too :) I’m curious how you’d review them
You're the best man.. 2 years ago I was looking for a screen protector and a colleague reconmended I was your videos first before making the purchase.. got the flolab screen protector and have not regretted the decision since.. this time the ESR powerbank reconmendation, tbh was a little skeptical witht the brand at first but trusted your review and just got it.. no regrets at all.. I used to have the anker but it died on me after about 1.5 years of heavy use.
IMO ESR has been killing it with accessories of late. I wonder where their clear case ended up in your rankings. I picked up their case & charger already, getting the 5000mah version of the power bank to add to it. I said I'd never switch to apple, magsafe is one of the things that got me to move (and USBC among other things).
You used the old Anker MagSafe battery pack and not the upgraded version which came out a couple of months ago. I think you should just remake the video to get the most up to date products.
Great channel. One idea for a video: Compare magnet strength for all iPhone 15 cases. It seems almost everyone has weaker magnets this year. How many grams/ounces can they lift?
A video done by another guy said the same thing. He said the wireless chargers get hot and don't transfer power due to inefficiency vs a cheap battery block with wire which blows any wireless charger to bits.
I think the Apple MagSafe is sort of perfect. All its failings is kind of good. The wireless charge speed is good enough to keep it from heating up both devices. Any faster, the hotter they'll get. If you charger both to 100%, and connect them together, they both last longer throughout the day. I've had my iPhone for 10 hours and came home with 90% on the phone and 30% on the battery.

I highly rate the pitaka MagEz range, been using mine for 2.5 years now, slides into its dock so it’s always charged, the dock can also charge my watch and wireless buds and will give me 80% charge, sticks to the back like glue and also makes the clack that the apple one does. It’s also very ergonomic and feels comfortable in your hand

I will stick with the Apple unit. Most days it is plenty to help my current 13 Pro Max through the day. Hope Apple brings it back but with USB-C port. I with they made it in 2 sizes though, regular and large. For the days when I know I'll need a little extra.
I don't understand how all those products got in the list. I won't even consider buying them. The whole point of Magsafe battery pack is to carry the battery pack along with the phone while charging. In order to do that, it has to stick to the phone. So the strong magnetic connection is a must. Another must is the size. To be able to handle and use comfortably while charging, it cannot be bulky. On the other hand, as long as the battery pack is keeping the current charge level or adding to it slightly, I don't care too much about the speed of output so long as its securely attached and small enough to carry and use. If I need it charged fast and be done with it, I would use a cable based battery. I think this list is missing the point of magsafe charger and it's use cases.

Hi Aaron, thank you for the reviews! Can you also mention if the battery packs fit the iPhone 12/13 minis in future reviews? Some of them probably don't fit the mini (they extend out lower than the mini). As a person with smaller hands, the minis are more manageable the the larger iPhones.

I just bought a Xiaomi wireless battery charging set pretty cheap price. It has literally identical function as the otter set. The biggest fear I have with wireless charging is the heat. And I feel xiaomi did a pretty good job. Only problem I feel is the charging speed.

I never understood why you would use this over a normal power bank? - ignoring the space used for the coil and extra circuitry, you have 15-30% losses using wireless charging, so you could get a power bank that's near enough half the size with the same capacity...
I use the a pitaka one. Reason I use it is when my battery is low, I pop it on the stand, lift, and the battery comes off. Don’t have to plug anything in. I can be charging portably in one swift motion.
I just think that, Why don’t these battery packs have bluetooth, I mean if ESR wallet can have it, I think they can have it, and in wallet, adding that requires a separate battery but this would be battery pack by itself, this would allow it to show up the battery percentage in the widget, and also if they choose to they can develop an app, which can allow some customization, like, if you don’t care about speed right now, charge it 2.5W because currently I am outside in the sun and I don’t want a heater in my pocket and I don’t have enough technical knowledge but I think, Apps have permission for accessing phone temp, etc, just add a mini temp sensor in the battery pack, and process all the info on app and charge, the phone as required and as the temp of the phone and battery pack allows, even stop charging completely and start when the temperature cools down, instead of just wasting a lot of energy in heat or charging very slowly, I think these feature will be hard to market, that’s why they don’t do all this, but Apple gives features like this, but they can sell expensive products with higher margins, just by brand value alone..
I don’t think you should have included any of the accessories with the review, like the Anker one you could buy a stand and fan charger separately for the same price

The anker batteries were updated to put the charge port on the side with some other improvements.
Is it the one that have the led and port on the sides? And does it get really hot or average?

That ESR Wallet power bank thingy seems useful for daily life. You still could tap your card while the phone is charging.

for the anker one, the newer model of this move the charging port to the side. And I can use the stand by mode on my iphone 15 pro max.
You should look at the Anker 622. Better magnet and the plug is on the side so you can use in StandBy mode and pass-through charging.
If its always charging doesn't it degrade the battery life?

I don’t think you should have included any of the accessories with the review, like the Anker one you could buy a stand and fan charger separately for the same price
