I was hesitate in writing this.... I had the exact same eye condition as Carrie. But my eyes were consistently watering. This was due to the fact that they were dry. This was my only symptom. I had one flare up about 6 months ago where I looked like I was punched in the eye. It was like the tear duct was blocked. The pain was terrible that I was in bed for 3 days. When I went to the GP, they told me to go to the Optometrist immediately, as they had big cameras that could look in my eye. They found an unusual growth. So I was then rushed to the Eye specialist that specialised in growths on the eye. After 6 weeks of scans, tests and biopsies, they told me I had lymphoma in my eye. Scariest moment of my life, as I am a single mum with a little boy. The good news is that the growth was so small that is was easily treatable. I have since had radiation treatment and after 6 weeks they have told me that I have no signs of the disease. However I'm always in fear that it will come back and will need to have tests for the rest of my life. So CARRIE, please go to the optometrist if you haven't already. If there are any issues, they will direct you to the straight place. I hope that in sharing my story I am able to help someone.
I am catching up on your videos, since I was on vacation. I agree that the nervous thing you get before leaving has to do with how good you feel where you are. I got back home yesterday, a place I love. I loved my vacation, it was great, but I didn't have the sadness that many get at the end of a holiday, because I was looking forward to seeing my place. At the beach a woman told me "how sad it is to leave" and I replied "it depends on what you come back to". I think it's a really nice thing.
Carrie needs to go to a dry eye clinic that good opticians have….the GP a route won’t help. Go to a very good optician that has a special trained staff investigating dry eye as they have all the photo equipment. They diagnosed my Sjögren’s. No one else did - GP was useless. Go to opticians with this level of expertise as they know what they are doing. If it’s serious they can refer you to a hospital ophthalmologist.
hi Lydia I suffer with dry eyes it's painful itchy I think I've got eczema around top of my eyelids and the bottom of my legs it would be nice to definitely find out what doctors to see thank you very much it was very nice watching your show.
Its informative to know what route to go about medical issues like this in the UK…. I could make recommendations on who to go see in France …but following along to see what solutions Carrie finds💜
Love how you are starting to discuss more of what goes on inside us as well as taking care of outer beauty the inner thoughts need to be beautiful, positive happy too. Then it all radiates out of you no matter what you look like and it makes for a life filled with gratitude . I love when people take about ways they have changed their mindset.Lately when I have a negative thought I stop and do some 4,7,8 breathes and look around for something I appreciate and listen just ground myself its really helping. I have chronic back pain . Anyway keep on doing what you are doing....beauty that moves. ( In many ways)
And for Carrie I can recommend Dr Petrushkin at Moorfields eye hospital in London. I’ve recently got a diagnosis from him, I had similar symptoms…and now my eyes are SO much better. He’s very lovely too.
Thank you for your nice videos. I’m a nurse from the US. I am 48 and have a daughter your age and am an actual grandma now (a young one if I do say so myself 😉) I just enjoy watching your videos and all your lovely purchases and garden. Thanks so much! It really makes my downtime happy
I had similar issues with my eyes in the past and, when you feel this happening as soon as it starts feeling painful, my eye doctor recommended doing hot compress on my eye a few minutes a few times a day to help drain the fluids in the lid. It really helped!
It’s such a lovely way to describe that we’ve grown up together, I’m 26 and followed you and watched your videos religiously since you were at your first house.
I adore the way you talk to your dogs, especially in the garden, I can tell how much of s happy place it is for you and them and the love you have for them.
I have said it before and I will say it again you and Ali look so good together!!! I do believe that what you feel is an overwhelming sense of gratitude and happiness all around with out the part of fear that you will not be as happy when you are away. Enjoy every part of your beautiful life Lydia, you have earned it so many times over. If you are as balanced as you appear in your life and career at this age you will have a very long long life of pure joy. There may be stressors but they will not be the kind that break your body and soul down. Ride and appreciate the great wave you have created. Fantastic video!!
I get the SAME travel anxiety that you do! I feel so grateful to be home and at peace and the thought of leaving makes me so anxious & emotional! I whip myself into to state
Lovely video!! 💕 I wanted to comment on Carrie’s issue with her eyes. I have the same thing, on and off since 2020. I went to a specialist on Meibomian glands, got prescribed antibiotic eye drops, anti inflammatory eye drops, medication, and even surgery to remove hardened oil deposits on my eyelids. I went to an allergy specialist, changed ny diet, and everything has been under control ever since.
I agree with the warm eye pad for 10 minutes and then gentle massage will help to soften and dislodge the exudate, this is is a tried and tested method… good luck with this Carrie xxx
I was going to say the same - I had an eye issue for years and turns out it was diet and after I healed my gut (working with a nautropath) I never had the issue again
Hi there, I suffer from a very similar eye problem that Carrie has. First my ophthalmologist has me wash my eyes every night with Alcon Lid-Care Towelettes , it’s eyelid cleanser and Makeup Remover. Super gentle on the outside and inside of my waterlines as well. Lydia that waterproof mascara from your last vlog would have come off with these pads!!! They have made such a difference I use them first to clean my eyes on both days with or without makeup. Then I wash my face and eyes with my regular cleanser. Then very important I compress my eyes with a warm wet wash cloth on my eyes for about 5 minutes. These three steps have been game changers in my eyes.
So for Carrie's eyes ! I suffer with dry eyes, Not the other problem that she has too but I can highly recommend theoloz duo. It is the Rolls Royce of eye drops. Also have a clean flannel and run it under the hot tap then ring it out and then massage over your eyes for a good couple of minutes. Do it as warm as you can stand it but dont burn yourself obviously ! Do it first thing in the morning and when you go to bed. It really does help open the tear ducts. it's also very soothing. A consultant told me to do this and helps massively . x
My daughter had blocked tear duct and saw an ophthalmologist to get it surgically fixed. My mum has severe dry eye and also sees an ophthalmologist to manage. I can’t wear contact lenses for long as they dry out my eyes and hurt There’s nothing worse than sore eyes. Good luck Carrie x Love seeing a day out in London going from here to there x
Been enjoying your dog walking, nature loving life myself for years now🤍 It makes me so happy to see someone else enjoy the gifts we have in life as much as I do🤗😁☺️
Oh boy! I think you might have a difficult time leaving your current home for a new one. I can tell you are so attached to this home as I am to mine. It will be bittersweet. I think we will all miss your beautiful home.
Carrie needs to see an optician! I have dry-eye problems also and was prescribed eye drops and a heat compress that you can buy at your opticians. In my case it’s blocked tear ducts so heat helps with this and long term will solve your dry eye problems! Hope this helps. X
I am the same I have eye drops and my eyes are super light sensitive too. I have to ware sunglasses in bright day light. In the sun i I can't open my eyes property without sun glasses and I have to not be near air con blowing in my face.
Not sure if this would help Carrie, but I have a Lipiflow procedure once a year to clear out the blocked oil glands along my lash line. It’s been life changing for me. ❤️😊 You can also wear a heated eye mask at night to help prevent blockage of the oil glands.
If you want to get the dyson airwrap just know you’re NOT going to want to return it. It is amazing and it saves me so much time in the morning. You’re able to get a quick blow dry that actually looks good in just a few minutes. I loooove mine and can’t live without it
So I used to suffer with styes/ chalazion and i went to multiple doctors in England that we’re giving me different advice. Some said don’t do hot compresses, some do. I have blepharitis and use a daily eye lash foam in the shower and also have an blepharitis spray. I also think it’s hormone and stress related. Eat well and don’t get too little sleep:
For Carrie ... my Hungarian grandmother known for natural old world remedies would give you 2 options. 1 ... warm up some salt and put in a cotton sock and gently hold on the eye. This will soothe the eye and soften the secretions that have blocked the tear duct. 2 place warm herbal tea bags over the eyes. Maybe put tea bags over eyes before having a glass of wine! ... last bit was my musing and not grandmother remedy.
Hi Lydia, Whenever I have eye issues with ducts or eyelashes being flared up ; I put a warm compress of a chamomile tea bag on it in the evening. I swear by it , alleviates a lot of the discomfort. Obviously this is just something to do in addition to anything her optician prescribes.
I have enjoyed watching your videos for a couple of years now. Around the time I became a mom. Your videos have been great for many reasons to list here now but most recently, my 2 year old was diagnosed with Leukemia last week and for the first time in years I forgot to watch your video. Today, was the first day after 7 days that I could get myself to look at something for my entertainment and I can’t tell you how uplifting and good it is to watch your videos. It seems so silly, I know, but not all vloggers are created equal and not all can do what you do. So many thanks for your content. You helped me find myself again after giving birth and now through this awful time for my little one but in true Lydia style, only positive vibes here.
The tear trough purposefully plugs when you have chronically dry eyes because it is acting like a plug in the sink trying to keep the tears in the eyes. You can use warm compresses to clear the sebum from the ducts, either the ones you buy or just a warm flannel held on the eye. Best treatment is prevention, so eyedrops!! Not all drops are made equal, so try different kinds (there are some gel ones that last longer in the eye than the liquid ones). Being really diligent with them by using every few hours throughout the day should help to settle the issue 🙂
in the US, there are little tear duct drains you can get placed in your tear ducts that will prevent that. i'm not sure if something like that is approved in the uk or what. i would go to an ophthalmologist - not just someone at a glasses place, but a true eye specialist. an optician is someone who deals with glasses, an ophthalmologist is an eye specialist, and what you want.
I’ve worked in the optometry space for 10 years. It sounds like she is getting styes. She should be doing a warm compress gently massaging. Taking omega-3 once a day is good too. I also recommend that she see a dry eye clinic for the dry eye and ask her optometrist if they know any specialists who specialize in chronic styes. My husband gets bad styes, one of which had to be surgically removed. He has another one and our optometrist has referred him to a specialist who offers other options besides surgery. Do not go to a GP or dermatologist.
My husband has a very similar situation with his eyes which also started about 4 years ago for him. He went to an optometrist who then sent him to an eye specialist. The specialist told him that he has chronic dry eyes AND severe allergies that only take effect in his eyes. He also uses prescription eye drops when it happens and the effects for him last about a week. Unfortunately since it's severe allergies, there is no cure but the eye drops help immensely with the swelling/pain/discomfort. I hope this helps!
Hi Carrie, I used to suffer from severe dry eyes. ( not so much anymore as I don't wear my contact lenses as much). One day my eyes were so sore, felt like I had sandpaper under my lids etc and went to the A& E eye unit and they gave me some eye drops and they made a refferal to the eye clinic and got diagnosed with blepharitis. The type i have can't be cured but can managed . If I ever have a flare up or my eyes are sore etc , i usually got to the A&E for Eyes, don't even bother going to opticians or my GP. The eye unit at hospitals ( where i am ) are fantastic as they've doctors that specialise in eyes & have all the equipment. They make refferrals to the eye specialist ( eye clinic) depending on your condition when they see you. Hope you get it sorted but what I would say is don't be afraid to ever go to the A&E for eyes. you do have to wait around a bit as people with worse conditions are seen first but it's worth it as they know their stuff x
Carrie, I suffered with dry Eyes for years until, for other reasons, I cut sugar out of my diet completely. Within a very short time, the dry eye problem just disappeared. When I started adding sugar back, the dry, gritty feeling came back. It's not easy to cut sugar out of your diet but worth trying it for a month to see if it works for you. x
Lydia, asylum and Ali have a Miele washing machine you do not need to dry clean cashmere garments! You put it on the wool programme, make sure to not put too much into the washing machine, the bottom and top of Ali‘s lounge set just alone and use a detergent for wool. Really, that is the best you can do. Do NOT put it into the dryer but lay it out flat for drying and iron it! Do not worry, they will come out as new!
There is histamine and preservatives in wine, you can get a product that you drop into your wine to remove this, i had the same problem ended up with red dry painful eyes.......also one of the best treatments which they use on horses is cold tea on a cotton pad and gently allow it to drain into a closed eye to saturate it.
When my daughter was about 3 or 4 months old an eye doctor opened her tear duct with a thin filament. She is now in her late 40’s, and had no further problems. Hope this might be helpful.
Carrie needs to see an ocular doctor, an ophthalmologist specialist. I had dry eyes and went to see one where they did the tear duct test. Mine weren't blocked but that is the specialist that can perform the test. Mine was due to having thyroid eye diseases. I still have the dry eye in one eye where my eyelid doesn't close all the way when I sleep because of eye surgery. I take Retaine drops in the day and an oily gel at night. There is a good prescription for dry eyes but here in the states its 400 bucks for 60 days supply. I find the night gel to be good. She needs to get her tear ducts tested first and its its completely painless. They will put numbing drops in her eyes first. Unfortunately dry eye never goes away so its learning to live with it. Good luck Carrie. Let us know if she sees a specialist and what they found.
Hi Lydia & Carrie! My partner has suffered with cold sores in his eyes and been under the eye hospital since a young age and it’s on aciclovir medication. He always describes it as sandpaper in his eyes when he has a flare up, usually happens if his been drinking or slightly run down. It’s worth checking to see if carries is similar as I don’t think there’s much awareness on it. Hope you’re both well! X
I have blepharitis for a few years now and one of the main discomforts it brings is eye dryness. My ophthalmologist suggested that I use eveyrday an eyelid cleansing foam (as well as eye drops) and I have seen quite an improvement when I am consistent with my therapy. Those eyelid foams are not consireded medication and there are plenty of brands. I hope it helps!
I have blepharitis and the oil glands in my eye lid can get blocked and the same things happened to me. Get a heated eye mask to use twice a day when it flares up as the heat softens the blocked oil and releases it from the gland :-) - hope that helps
Hearing u chat about insta & different perspectives...and I’d say I love ur vlogs because of ur personality and everyday moments, and for me ur insta is great but too ‘fashiony’ or perfect for me...and I love seeing low key posts of movie cuddles with ur pets, or garden walks, etc.
Omg I've literally just been diagnosed with dry eyes and given the eye drops to use! I'd be so interested to hear more about what Carrie does to help. It's so painful when it swells x
Hi an opthamologist who is specialized in helping with this. My best friend has an issue with this and she went to an eye-doctor and they can prescribe you with better eyedrops, but one thing the doctor said is wash your eye area with a warm washcloth in the morning to help loosen and warm-up the tear duct. Hope this helps!
Hi Lydia, I am an optometrist. Carrie should see if she can find a local optometrist who specialises in dry eye and lid conditions ( such as belpharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction which are those oil producing pores on the lid edge) hot compresses such as an eye bag can help this. Lots of screen work can make these conditions worse ( I see so many people with these problems as everyone - myself included spends all day on one screen or another). Hope this helps. X
You are such a travel pro so hearing you say you have pre-travel anxiety is almost surprising but nice to hear how you’re feeling because I get the same way. I generally have a great time once I’m there but the getting to and back makes me so anxious also. I try to do the same with travel or busy days, just try to take it little-by-little.
Carrie- you may have Blepharitis. Usually affects people with allergies and dry eyes. Repeated stighs that are painful. It’s frustrating. I refrained from using mascara as much as possible - and hardly use it one. I also did hot eye washes every morning and night. In Australia we have a product called “Blephadex” which worked really well for washing eyes. You may also find a product called”Zadaten”. It will pass but very annoying when you have it. Visit an Optometrist for help with this.
Hi Carrie, I have the same issue and my optician recommended a damp hot towel on my eyes to melt the sebum away. Don't forget to wipe your eyelids afterwards to get rid of it, and consistency is key 🙂
Carrie should see an eye specialist, chronic dry eyes can be caused by blocked oil/tear ducts. What keeps our eyes wet isn't tears, there are oil glands that very commonly get blocked up and the oil gets really thick and then can't keep the eyes wet. It is made worse by wearing makeup as well. Seeing a specialist who can start the recovery process would be best, in the mean time hot/warm compresses would help loosen things and especially help an infection, which is what it sounds like what she has right now.
Hi Lydia, in my opinion I really feel your involving spiritual.Getting more in touch with the real Lydia. Keep doing you and the rest will follow.Blessing to you and all the best.☯️💜
I had dry eyes and twice went to optician thinking I had something in my eye. It was just really dry and scratchy. Then I started using UKLash to condition my lashes and now I never have dry eyes and I don't use anything else. Worth a look at that for Carrie.
My ex husband had problems with his tear ducts and went to see an eye specialist. They sorted it out and, as far as I’m aware, he doesn’t have the problem anymore.
If Carrie uses any product that has vitamin A ( retinol, tretinoin, etc.) she has to pay attention how she applies it on the face, as these don't have to be applied too close around the eyes.
Carrie I assume with the status of your role that your Employer provides private health care. Just use this to fast track a referral from your GP to an eye specialist. Some of the Consultants from Moorfields also do work at Spire private hospitals around the country. My Father-in-law got sorted at Spire Harpenden with his eyes
Just been watching your vlog I think from a while ago about the needless mean comments about your vlogs that people think are boring . Omg I just found your vlogs a few weeks ago and I have absolutely loved them they for me are so uplifting a chance to jump of the planet and into your world . I personally just live everything you do and have inspired a very young 64 year old to re look at the skin care routine , to up my game on my wardrobe and to sort out my drawers lol. Just keep what you are doing being yourself and letting us share in your life believe you me you have to be so brave to do that as it leaves you open to all the negative crap you have to put up with I for one am grateful and is my go to place when i need a bit of an uplift . Carol xxxxxx
Go to an eye doctor. Someone who does eye exams but is really in depth about it. For example, don't go to an eye glass business. Go to one that does do prescription glasses but that's more of a clinic. We call the one place I went to that is a thorough exam an Eye Center. Also, as a side note, drinking lots of water is good for helping the body recover from dehydration, whether it is alcoholic beverages or high sodium foods/drinks.
For TMJ, put a wine cork lengthways between your front & bottom teeth & hold it for 3 mins, or as long as you can. Even just for a few seconds initially as you will improve & be able to hold it for longer in time so don’t over-stress the area. This is a huge release of tension in your jaw. My TMJ is gone since I started doing this years agoafter a physio recommendation. I did it one or twice daily at first, now I only need do it around once monthly or bi-monthly xx
I saw an eye specialist and she put me on an antibiotic called doxycycline ( in the US) as well as use microwaveable eye compresses . Good luck Carrie !!
A random room decor comment: I used to paint my wall colour right up to the windows like Lydia’s dressing room, but then I found if you paint the inset/area around the window white you get loads more light in the room. Plus if you have white windows they blend in a little more.
Eyelid/eye lash scrubs called OcuSoft wipes in the States may help Carrie. She can also try Hydro Eyes which are Omega capsules with GLA, EPA and DHA specifically formulated for dry eyes. This is an over the counter product as well, meaning neither require a prescription. I also find that the brand Systane(again here in the states) makes an eye drop called Balance which really helps my dry eyes. Look for an eye drop that contains boric acid. It sounds scary but is helpful.
Thank you so much for discussing your angst prior to traveling. I love my home also! Going through the airport and keeping a cheery, excited attitude takes so much energy sometimes 😊 My husband is very social and just makes up for my shyness. Love your vlog! Thank you for you & your teams hard work! Much appreciated here in the U.S. ❤️
Carrie, I get blocked pores along my eye line and my eye doctor recommended regularly washing that area with a gentle face soap. I've also bought a special lid wipe that I found Amazon called OCuSOFT. I find mine act up when my allergies are bad. I "feel" my allergies strongly in my eyes. Also this may not be the case with you but I find I can't wear eye shadow anymore. I find every time I do I get those painful bumps. :(
So I get the blocked pore thing, what I do when it happens is put a warm/hot compress over my eye to warm it, then gently massage the eye with it over it, then dip a Qtip in warm/hot salted water and then massage that over the inflamed area. I do this twice a day until it leaves. Also normally get these when my body is stressed so tend to try and chill out when it happens to calm down my nervous system and give my body a chance to restore.
Carries Eye: There is a number of things that could be going on. Some one the things I would look in to, what are you using to remove makeup or eye makeup. Any remover that has oils, can actually cause the clogged duct to become clogged in the first place. There is specific round wipes that can be purchased at and optometrists. That are for specifically cleaning around the eye, when there’s an infection and without one. Too much of something can be a bad thing. Too much oil in the body. Can cause an adverse reaction for the outer extremity’s. Additionally dryness around the eyes, so underneath the water line. Similar to a flakiness or eczema. This could be due to a number of allergies. Allergies to the seasons. Allergies too types of alcohol, where the alcohol is derived from. Etc. and or something in the diet. But first make sure you have no oils going near or around the eye area ever, if you have this time of sensitivity. Always water based cream around the eyes. Never oil. Hope this may help! Feel better soon ☺️
From the description it sounds like you have dry eyes and blepharitis which can make you a bit more prone to developing styes (small painful swellings in the line of your eyelashes because of blocking of tiny pores). I am a doctor (my specialty is not ophthalmology though!) but my husband suffers from the same thing particularly when he is stressed or operating for many hours. So I thought I would send you some things that he was told when he asked for advice… -the specialist you need is an ophthalmologist (if you don’t want to go GP) -there is evidence that omega 3 supplements help, mostly in reducing frequency -when you feel it starting use warm water compresses over the area that help with unblocking those tiny glands -try avoid touching your eyes -if that happens frequently you mind need some further tests As I said earlier this is not an attempt for a remote diagnosis, I hope the information helps. Take care
Carrie, if you can see dots on your lash line, it might be blocked pores from sebum. I am not a derm or eye specialist but have had the same issue in the past. Two things helped me reduce the chance of it getting worse - first is a warm compress with a face towel that can hold some heat, everyday till it dissapears or eyes feel good. Second is to reduce or eliminate eye cream use till it feels better. Also, I don't drink alcohol at all so that can't be a reason for dry eyes?
I have dry eye. I go to an opthamologist. Their education requires 12 years of school after h.s. graduation. Your eyesight is very precious..you want the best specialist.
Hi Girls, In response to Carries dry eye issue....its called blepharitis and along with your supplements you need an eyelash wash, the best brand I have found is Avenova. Use it every morning when you wake up, lightly massage into eyelashes...then wash your face...no need to leave on for long...just rinse. I have suffered with severe dry eye, and it is extremely painful. It is an Eye Dr. that you would see...actually a specialist if it progresses and gets worse. I see a corneal specialist. Also you should be applying a warm compress every day and then massage top lid going down to your lashes... .. Expressing meibomian glands can be done with a paddle, rolling forceps, other forceps, or sterile cotton swabs. Gentle pressure is applied to the lids so that meibum flows out of the opening of the glands. Good luck....thanks for entertaining me with your channel
Idk if you and Ali treat the animals for flea and tick prevention, however with the tall grass growing, it might be advisable. Tick bites can cause Lyme disease in both humans, dogs and cats. I worked in a veterinarians office in Northern Virginia in my early 20s. There is a large deer and deer-tick population there and it gave me a bit of a complex about it. Lol its not as prevalent in England, but it is a problem that is on the rise. Love your videos! Have a fun trip!
I take Restasis for my dry eyes, prescribed by my eye doctor. But the best advice I ever got on this was to take my CLEAN finger nail and GENTLY dislodge the tiny speck of crust from the tear duct opening at the inner corner of each eye daily or as I think of it. Unbelievably simple, GAME CHANGER!
Optometrist or Opthamologist. I have dry eyes as well. I got plugs put in eye ducts. The liquid pools instead of draining out thus creating a more moist eye.
Blephasol - it's GP prescribed I think but you use it on a cotton pad to clean the eyelashes and prevent build up of oils on the eyelid pores! (Probably not the scientific way of describing it). But yes blephasol!
I hadn’t realised before how anxious you get. I know you’ve had issues that you’ve told us about but it really seemed apparent today. Your mind was somewhere else at times. This isn’t a criticism AT ALL. I have dreadful anxiety and take Pregabalin for it which has been an absolute life changer for me. I understand why your Green house brings you peace (and your animals). My dogs and horses do the same for me 🙂
Hello ladies ! ☀️🌻☀️ I have similar symptoms to Carrie …. And I was diagnosed with something called “Sjogrens Syndrome” Now I am sure that Carrie won’t have this …but I had a lot of the same issues as Carrie … and it’s better to be aware of all these conditions if only to rule them out 🤗 Hope you manage to get the right diagnosis for you (whatever is causing you these issues) and hope it can be treated swiftly for you Carrie xxxxxxx “Every Good Wish” …. And hope your eyes feel better v soon 💞💞💞💞
I have Sjogrens as well. A flare causes my eyes to be so dry it feels like sand. I also tend to get stys because of this. I flare when drinking, eating gluten, lack of sleep and stress. See an optomologist
Hey Lydia, I had to deal with the same thing that Carrie is dealing with. I just got a Lipiflow procedure and so far it seems to help a lot. Maybe that would be something that Carrie should talk about with her eye doctor.
Aww I’m sorry Carrie, if that continues you can take eye drops but also blepharitus there is eye shampoos for your eye lashes, and it’s best to see an ophthalmologist consultant, but also if the tear drops still continue to block there’s something called punctum plug dilators, an ophthalmologist consultant will put these in your tear ducts to dilate them so they can’t block and helps a lot of people and is not painful xx hope that helps x x
I had the same issue as Carrie. She needs to go to ophthalmologist. What halped me was using regularly eyelid cleaning wipes. Eye drops every night. I hope it helps, because I know how unpleasant it is.
Warm compresses and massage the area… do not try and pop anything … in the US we can get a Bruder Mask… it’s great for dry eyes hopefully they’re available there…. Also lid scrubs Ocusoft is a brand for those… seeing it up close would be helpful…. An optometrist will be able to help
I’m excited to see what you get into in Azerbaijan! I have only seen a little from there, but it looks so beautiful! I hope your trip was great! I had an issue with what I thought was a stye, and my medical provider scheduled an appointment with an ophthalmologist. I had blocked oil glands near my eyelid. He said my oily skin also meant I have oily eyelids, and I shouldn’t use facial oils. It only happened after a week of using a facial oil, 2 times. I hope Carrie’s eye situation gets sorted quickly!
Hello love! I wanted to see what kind of maintenance your outdoor spaces with gravel requires? Do you have to re-supply often? I'd LOVE to do a gravel drive mainly because I love the way tires sound on gravel haha!
I was diagnosed with blepharitis (where the ducts do not clear themselves out they was a normal eye should), I suffered terribly with styes for a long time from this. Have a looking into Blepharitis, you may be surprised xx
I love you’re vlogs on TH-cam and follow you on instagram but I don’t go on TikTok. I have been with you since you’re old house and love watching your evolution personal and business wise. You are a true influencer to me. Good influence… because you are a good person and your life and relationships reflect that. Please don’t stop instagram or TH-cam. I am not crazy about TikTok. It is too “show” and unreal to me. Lots of love 💕
I had a similar issue a few years ago, though it wasn’t as bad as Carrie’s is. Basically my eye doctor said my oil glands around my eyes clogged, she had me use an eye mask every day that I heated up in the microwave in order to loosen the oil, and use tea tree pads for the eyes to keep the area clean.
I’d recommend that Carrie gets referred see an ophthalmologist through the GP - more specifically an Oculoplastic specialist. We sell ophthalmic products (products for eye surgery) and it sounds like she may need her lacrimal system/glands looking at. I can send some names through depending on the area that she lives 👍🏻 but we sell an entire range for the issues she’s having so I’m sure we can get to the bottom of it! Xx
If you enjoy "Gentle Fiction" please don't rule out an American writer, Jan Karon. Her series of books, the Mitford series, are so charming that I highly recommend them. The first one is titled "A Town Called Mitford". If you love them as much as I have, you will not be able to put one of her series down without going quickly to get the next. A thought for Carrie; would a humidifier in her bedroom by her bedside help during the nights (during the night your body loose lots of fluid) and a steammachine for the face to use every day to loosen up and hydrate the skin. I believe Sarah Chapman has a good one, but you girls know that much better then I do. Lots of 💕✨
My lovely Mum had this problem when she was alive, it was related to her Coeliac disease. She ended up getting her tear duct removed. But I'm sure there are lots of other options too though. An eye specialist would be my recommendation. X
Carrie should see an eye doctor, not optometrist but an actual eye doctor. She should put warm compresses on twice a day, and then you do this massage technique where you are trying to help the movement of eye fluids out of the tear duct. Doctor can explain. If that doesn't work they can exfoliate your tear duct and lid area to help and if all that doesn't work they can put tubes in your ducts, very tiny to keep them open. Hope that helps.
Thank you for sharing your story and help! I completely relate in that I was a single Mom to a little boy for 8 years. God bless you sweet lady!!
Hormones also play a big part in this area. I agree with this comment.
Agree … definitely seek a second opinion from a specialist in the optical area … GP’s have their place but they cannot be the experts on everything!
I was going to say, maybe even a rheumatologist
hi Lydia I suffer with dry eyes it's painful itchy I think I've got eczema around top of my eyelids and the bottom of my legs it would be nice to definitely find out what doctors to see thank you very much it was very nice watching your show.
Love this help! Hope Lydia sees this! Bless you!

Same!

I can’t wear contact lenses for long as they dry out my eyes and hurt
There’s nothing worse than sore eyes. Good luck Carrie x

Carrie needs to see an optician! I have dry-eye problems also and was prescribed eye drops and a heat compress that you can buy at your opticians. In my case it’s blocked tear ducts so heat helps with this and long term will solve your dry eye problems! Hope this helps. X

Hi, I'm Catherine. I'm praying for full recovery for your daughter and peace and strength for you.❤

Hi Carrie,
I used to suffer from severe dry eyes.
Black tea Compress every day lukewarm with a fresh gaze. Propper lid hygiene. Keep the eye moist and drink lots of water.
Carrie, I suffered with dry
Eyes for years until, for other reasons, I cut sugar out of my diet completely. Within a very short time, the dry eye problem just disappeared. When I started adding sugar back, the dry, gritty feeling came back. It's not easy to cut sugar out of your diet but worth trying it for a month to see if it works for you. x
**Dry eyes** look up milking eye duct/glands. It helps release the oils along with warm compress. This is what my optometrist recommend.💛

Ophthalmologists specialize in the ducts and surrounding areas of the eyes as well. My mum had a similar problem and they fixed the issue!

If Carrie uses any product that has vitamin A ( retinol, tretinoin, etc.) she has to pay attention how she applies it on the face, as these don't have to be applied too close around the eyes.

So I thought I would send you some things that he was told when he asked for advice…
-the specialist you need is an ophthalmologist (if you don’t want to go GP)
-there is evidence that omega 3 supplements help, mostly in reducing frequency
-when you feel it starting use warm water compresses over the area that help with unblocking those tiny glands
-try avoid touching your eyes
-if that happens frequently you mind need some further tests
As I said earlier this is not an attempt for a remote diagnosis, I hope the information helps.

Lydia what not buy the Dyson air wrap from QVC .If you don’t like it You can send it back after 30 days for FULL REFUND

A friend had the same condition as Carrie and her doctor recommended gentle massage with a warm soft cloth twice a day and it seemed to help….

Hello ladies ! ☀️🌻☀️
I have similar symptoms to Carrie …. And I was diagnosed with something called “Sjogrens Syndrome”
Now I am sure that Carrie won’t have this …but I had a lot of the same issues as Carrie … and it’s better to be aware of all these conditions if only to rule them out 🤗
Hope you manage to get the right diagnosis for you (whatever is causing you these issues) and hope it can be treated swiftly for you Carrie xxxxxxx
“Every Good Wish” …. And hope your eyes feel better v soon 💞💞💞💞
I have Sjögren’s too….. nightmare….
Carrie, use a humidifier. I get the same when sleeping with aircon or heater. Works for me now.

OMG I LOVE THAT SONG at the concert! Was hoping you would played more of it🤪
For Carrie, Try green tea bags on the eye - i used it for a sty and it worked.

Go to an optometrist. Use a Bruder mask. It frees up the much needed lubricating oils.
You looked stunning with bob, I remember this from your previous videos 😍

Hello love! I wanted to see what kind of maintenance your outdoor spaces with gravel requires? Do you have to re-supply often? I'd LOVE to do a gravel drive mainly because I love the way tires sound on gravel haha!
Lydia, you bring a brightness to everyone’s day! You are like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
I greatly enjoy the content that you bring.💗🤗🌸

Thank you for your beautiful channel and all the loving qualities you and your family are reminding everyone to appreciate and not take for granted. Best Regards from Georgia in US! ❤
