The little spiky bits are rockets with smoke plumes. You glue them on to a LRM launcher section.

Actually I think it’s for the guillotine thrusters above the feet.

Shorty Sneede is one of the characters from the original Cranston Snord's Irregulars scenario pack. He's also in the sequel pack, Rhonda's Irregulars and the novel Call of Duty by Blaine Lee Pardoe, which is the main place Alexandria Snord shows up.

Aye Sneed's mech changes across the two scenario packs hence the head that gets added.

Snord's Irregulars has a great history in the novels with these chars Rhonda and her daughter playing major roles with Shorty Sneede playing a secondary role. His frankenmech is completely unique in the Btech universe and something you dont see alot of! I bet some of those extra pieces go to it

The lance pack background does really standout compared to the others for sure. I do like the little extras they added to the pack.

The Highlander-694 (the green version on the card) has the regular gauss on the arm and the large cannon on the left torso is a heavy gauss rifle, along with a pair of large lasers in the other torso.
For the Rifleman, the Phoenix Hawk head is the head Shorty put on his head, with the flat bar being the original radar blade from the rifleman. It is the right torso/arm of a Warhammer, left torso/arm of an Archer.

It's funny they added extra stuff but didn't add stadium speakers for Rhonda Snords Highlander, she likes to blast music out in combat. She does the same thing on her Shadow Hawk which she used before the Star League kit upgrade.

Also if they do anymore Snord boxes they'll need to do a Excalibur.

Personally, I think all the box sets and games sets should have come with extra parts. So that you can choose what variant of the mechs you want. Design them so if you want to magnetize them so that you can change their appearance. Any extra parts you don't want can be used in baseing.

the small spiky bits are the flames from the jump jets on the lower legs of the guillotine, if you look at the back of the lower legs you will see the indents of that 5 sided shape.

I can't wait to paint Shorty mech! I actually kitbashed my own Shorty mech years ago. That was a lot of sawing and pewter hacking.

  • @Kingofdragons117

So now that I got the box, I think the spikey bits are for the guillotine leg thrusters. They have a little slot of sorts that looks like it fits.

One thing I've snoticed is that these packs tend to have mostly advanced heavy and assault mechs. Lights and mediums aren't really present in them. As someone who usually plays/paints as the Taurians or the Brotherhood of Randis this can get irritating. Periphery powers are not known for having advanced mechs they tend to have more rugged ,older, medium machines.

I see some wild guesses, but the extra flare bits go on the outsides of the Guillotines lower legs. It has jumpjets down there. Honestly they didn't come out how I wanted, so they're pretty optional.

I love Battletech but it's enraging that it isn't distributed evenly throughout the world .......... Like I'm still waiting on a couple of Northwind Highlanders boxes I ordered LAST year ......... And that's the only one of the new boxes thats EVER going to be released here in Australia (next year sometime ....... Maybe) .
The above rant is why I refused to back the Kickstarter

    Hi.
To start Wolf Dragoons what box set would good to to start with.

    • @Thearmedpainter
      @Thearmedpainter  ปีที่แล้ว

That depends on a variety of factors. Do you have any minis currently? The Alpha Strike box set is hands down the best way to get into the game.
As a Dragoons player the benefit of that box set is two fold because they have access to IS and Clan tech.
I think your best bet might be to grab an Alpha Strike box, Wolf Dragoons Force Pack, and an Alpha Strike rule book. From here I’d check the MUL for mini availability for the dragoons based on the era(s) you may play. :)
Good rule of thumb for mech selection and procurement, snag what looks cool to you! Outside of a tournament you aren’t restricted on what minis can be used with a group and fluff wise plenty of mechs and such have been salvaged by other factions and groups.
