When i first listened to this, and when it came to :50, i realized that this might be one of the best songs i have ever heard. Luckily my roommate was gone, I turned up my speakers to full blast and just listened. THIS RIGHT HERE, is beauty.
Seriously, open this song in 2 tabs, have them playing at different times (about 5 or 10 seconds earlier or later) and have one slightly louder than the other.
This is in Ab. If you have perfect pitch you could hear it. But just to elaborate due to the heavy drop tone it's in Ab because the tuning is too low to really be the F#. F# is a lot higher of a sound compared to Ab. Flat tunings are much different than sharps.
From Wikipedia: "Lyric poetry is a genre of poetry that expresses personal and emotional feelings. In the ancient world, lyric poems were sung, accompanied by a lyre. Lyric poems do not have to rhyme, and today do not need to be set to music or a beat." So it's both.
This is actually really unique and interesting, given that djent music has sort of become rather saturated and homogeneous as of late. I give you major kudos. I seriously love this. When you have a release of some sort, you should announce it, because I would gladly throw ten dollars or whatever your way so that you continue making music like this.
you can play on modified 6 strings or 7's, Meshuggah started on 7 strings in F with the Djent. I mod them specially for those on a budget, My 7 is in E B E A D F# B and has been for 4 years, with more tension than regular tunings.
I agree that music doesn't need lyrics, but lyrics alone can have a damn powerful effect. I've heard some brilliant instrumentless music (not this genre, granted). This is great without lyrics though ;)
Lyrics =/= Voice Lyrics by themselves are restricted to be poetry. Yet we're discussing about lines in the water, its aspect as an artform is not in anyway affected by the shape it takes.
Singing can be considered a sort of music, she could even be humming or whistling, it still his considered music. If she were to just "speak" the lyrics with no rhythm, melody or whatever, it would probably sound more like a poem than a song.
great stuff man. if you don't mind me asking, how are you getting your guitar and bass tones? actual amps? or modeling? my guess is the latter, either way it sounds fucking awesome
If you read appropiately you'll see that I do not deny the musical aspect of A Capella; I do declare that it has little or nothing to do with the top comment, a fallacy called "Ignoratio Elenchi". And that, it's a counterargument.
Music is simply music. Lyrics are lyrics. No one ever said they were music. Think before you post, oh, and people should think before they like your comment :/
What on earth are you talking about? F# is referring to the low string on an 8 string in standard tuning, which is lower than a 7 string in drop G#. You can't just say one note is higher than another without context. Just saying F# sharp is higher than Ab is wrong and right. You really can't tell what tuning the guitars are in any song, because they could be played at different positions on lower tuned guitars.
Lyrics are not muical by nature since they are simply the sequence of words to a song, much like sheet music is just the sequence of notes for the guitar. vocals on the other hand happen to be entirely musical, exactly like the sound in which the guitar can produce. metal without vocals sounds like metal without a guitar to me... it can be done (quite well, in this case)... but it just doesn't seem right and i cant get into it...
Flay Erro Djent sounds like ''djent-djent-djent, djent, djent-djent-djent'' that's why djent bands are called djent. While you might be right, djent bands should still be called djent.

What genre is this?
It's Atlanticore
Sounds like Djent to me.
Félix Veilleux-Ouellet Djent is not a genre...It's a progressive metal sound...
Flay Erro Djent sounds like ''djent-djent-djent, djent, djent-djent-djent'' that's why djent bands are called djent. While you might be right, djent bands should still be called djent.
Hahaha I call them Djent bands too. "Progressive Metal band" is too long
+David Erro djent is just the technique that they use
Holy fucking shit balls!!
That's periphery's logo with a few missing lines!
very good sounds a bit like Tyrant of Death...keep up the great 'Djent' man \m/
