Was one of my most wanted material to get reprinted the last few years and boy wonder did DC deliver. Love this compendium and was hoping that we get a volume 2 announced soon.🙂 Will you be picking up the rest of the volumes if they get announced Omar?🙂
Had to pick this up just to help encourage DC to do a volume 2 that goes past the tpb run. Plus it has those Superman issues so it’s totally not double dipping just for my favorite character
If not an omni or deluxe edition, I like the idea of the "book one" etc. TPBs DC is doing - I'm planning on Johns GL and JLI both coming soon - and Tom King Batman is another one coming up - I hope they continue this.
I was stoked when I saw the image on the vid thinking we got an Omni. Bummer it’s just a paperback. Don’t get me wrong, still great they’ve collected it, but I would have loved an Omni.
I didn't grow up with Tim being my Robin. Just like I didn't with Wally West being my Flash or Kyle being my GL. But, they've grown to be my favorites (ok, I'm still a Hal guy, lol, but I do really like Kyle) and sad they aren't (or weren't) taken care off better as characters over the last few years.
Just got my copy in the mail today. Nostalgia baby! I still wish DC had done Omnis for both this compendium and the Nightwing compendium. I’m always afraid the spine will crack on these big paperbacks. My copy of Nightwing has held up, so far. I haven’t read some of these since I was a kid and there are quite a few I’ve never seen before.
I love this book. I grabbed it a store when I saw it two weeks ago! It reprints everything except the Benedictions trilogy including Robin #6! It has a ton of Superman and Annual issues I haven't read before! I love this book! You get so much for only $60 !!!!!!!!
Just got mine in the mail a few days ago. A little confused by the false cover but its ok. Any chance of a second one? Many of the later robin stories are either not collected or out of print. Would be nice to get them this way
Im so torn about picking this up. DC keeps making me double dip after buying the tpb. I picked up the Kyle Rayner Compendium even though I bought the trades, but after buy 5 trades of Tim Drake, I don't know if I can double dip. I am just hoping they continuing putting them out and don't stop like they did with the Kyle Rayner GL trades, the Peter David Supergirl trades and the Tim Drake trades.
Tim is my favorite Robin. But (and I’m sure this is nostalgia speaking), DC would make me very happy if they released (maybe as a Finest collection) some reprints of the pre-crisis Jason Todd. Yes he was just a Dick clone, but he’s still completely neglected
Not going to pick this up, just like I did not purchase the Lobo compendium, but I am hoping, hoping, hoping that DC would publish both in Omnibus formats. I don't know why DC is not producing more hardcovers of its best characters from the 1990s 😔😔 I am super excited that Deathstroke the Terminator Omnibus by Marv Wolfman is being released later this year and I am for sure going to pick that one up 🤑💸
I love these compendiums and basically just want to say ”stfu" to everyone who can't stop whining about omnibus. DC is very selective about what they put into omnibus. Get over it. For those of us who already have hundreds and hundreds of omnis, it's nice to have a format that is less expensive and doesn't take up as much room. Especially when you're talking about secondary characters in series that, in all fairness, are not the top tier of DC.
just to add clarification: you don't have to buy this book, I don't give a fk about that, I'm just telling you to shut up about it because you're bringing everyone down with your negativity.
@@xposhboyx thanks random person for your pithy and insightful comment. Gosh, you really showed me with your skillffully phrased point of view and use of the English language.
@@PM-oq8dg 🤝I'm not trying to personally get into it with you on any level. My OC was about people whining and complaining:it's annoying. Your comment brought up the need for me to clarify that I'm not trying to suggest that anyone has to buy any particular book. Obviously this all boils down to personal opinion, whether you like compendiums or not. But in my opinion, when you have a series like Robin, where there's more quantity than quality (you're talking about around 200 issues and a lot of it is mediocre), and the character is a supporting one in the DCU, the format the gets you the most pages for the least amount of money is what makes the most sense to me and I think that's why DC picked it as well.
Honestly I'm happy they are compendiums. More bang for your buck, especially in these expensive times and I don't feel like everything has to be a omni(even though I do like the format)
@@stephentheshywarrior2759 my position is more from a durability perspective. Omnis hold up better when it comes to this many pages. Compendiums may weigh less and are easier to read, but they won’t stand up to repeated reads. There will be creases in the binding and dings in the cover over time. To be honest, I wish DC and Marvel would collect more runs in the deluxe hardcover format like they used to. Those are the best. I really wanted the Mike Grell Green Arrow and 5 years later Legion collected that way and not the overblown omnis we got.
I’m sorry but Chuck Dixon write the same stories regardless of the character. You can switch Tim Drake with Nightwing with Moon Knight, and all the stories read the same way. Too one dimensional for me, and not too character driven.
RIP Tom Lyle and Norm Breyfogle. Two of my favorite 90s artists.
They were both amazing artists! Died way too young. 😢
Picking this up. Love Tim Drake. The best Robin.
Jim Aparo Batman art was the best!
First comic book I ever bought as drawn by him
I love the compemdiums DC has been putting out. Its cheap enough that I dont have to break the bank to buy it.
I need a Red Robin compendium so bad!!
Please
Too bad dc doesn’t care 😢
Currently halfway through it. Holds up perfectly. Love Tim Drake

This is my favorite era for the bat family. Love this run and the Nightwing run as well. Hope they get an Omni one day.
Had to pick this up just to help encourage DC to do a volume 2 that goes past the tpb run. Plus it has those Superman issues so it’s totally not double dipping just for my favorite character
And Batman #466 which was missed in the Tim Drake Robin TPB's even though he has a starring role in the issue
I loved those holographic trading cards that were on the covers of the mini series. I got all of these out of the quarter boxes when I was a kid.
Love that Tim and Nightwing are finally getting some collected editions.
RIP Tim Drake

I found my late Dad's old comics and there were i believe robin reborn issues. Good time reading through it.
I love the cover design. This will look good on bookshelves.
Batman 457 is an absolute classic! Can't wait to get this
I really don't get why they made this and the Nightwing one compendiums. I would totally get them if they were omnibus.
Omar if you have any contacts at DC pls tell them we want BOP Omnibuses
Tim Drake is the best Robin
I'm liking the Robin compendiums, especially this Tim Drake one but I'd like more Robin omnis

Of all the laws Batman and Robin break, Robin driving without a license is not one of them
yesssssssss, the best Robin
I pre ordered mine loved it unsure why they changed the cover from the advertised as I thought it was a lot better but it's still a must read
Thank you for this overview, cuz i didn't know this didn't collect his first appearance.
A little disappointing, but i'm gonna pick it up anyway.
So exciting!
I agree with you Omar. This is my Robin too. 😀👍🏻

Peter David Aquaman too! 😢
@@ericliu8488 Ugh yes! All those incomplete collections
This is by far the best Tim Drake. Showed how Robin should be after the garbage they did with Jason Todd.
And the garbage they subsequently did with Tim Drake.
It’s probably already too late but why didn’t they make omnibus slightly wider and fill the gutter loss with a blank space?
Tim Drake!
what happened to the other cover.
What's the name of the collections collecting tims first appearance and him becoming robin
Lonely Place of Dying.
My faves were always Tim Drake>Damian Wayne>Jason Todd>Dick Grayson
I know it's gonna be more expensive, but these books are way too big to not being hardcover with sewn binding.
I just wish it was a Hardcover, hate glued binding

Does he love this character? I didn't quite get that ...

Who is straight and doesn't have boyfriends 👌🏻
I'm honestly happy if he's straight, bi or gay, as long as the heart of the character is still there and most importantly written well.

Tim Drake. Before he was destroyed by activists.
