Love the compendium format. For me Omnibus are the best shelf candy but Compendiums are just so much more of a practical reading option. Looking forward to digging into this as holds good memories from my youth.
Lobo's Back was also my introduction to Lobo. I had just gotten back into comics and he was a hot character at the time. I bought the compendium to relive that. Also, the scenes towards the end of Lobo's Back # 1 have stuck with me all these years, with Lobo and his enemy having their bodies riddled with shell casings. I can never get enough of looking at those images! Hopefully L.E.G.I.O.N. gets collected soon as well.
I got this fraggin book new on day one, and mine also came with torn pages - those tiny tears. So no, Omar, it's not just your copy. I'm guessing it is a printing error.
The few compendiums I've gotten so far (Starman vols. 1-2 and Sandman Mystery Theater vol. 1) actually seem pretty durable for trade paperbacks so maybe I'll give the Lobo book a shot as well. It looks fun but would probably be more of a gamble for me if it were an Omni blind buy...
Thank you, Omar! My copy doesn't have any ripped pages, but it has happened to other books. This is such a great guilty pleasure! 😅 I just love the convention special! Lobo is the only 90s book I remember that made fun of the endless collector's version terror of the 90s. Lookin' forward ta da second fraggin' volume!
@@nolakazi maybe these companies know that some of their customers would rather spend less money per page and get more reading done per dollar? So maybe there's more than one type of customer out there? Maybe this world won't be immediately catering to your every desire to purchase something?
My copy does have the torn pages. I'm kind of agnostic when it comes to compendium vs Omnibus. For most things I'll take either one and look on the bright side. At least a compendium is less expensive and doesn't require one of my tall shelves. On the other hand I like handling a hardcover better, it's just easier to read without damaging the book.
I really hope one day DC will publish this Lobo material in an Omnibus 🤞I'm glad that they are choosing to keep the material in print, however I will personally be holding out for more 1990s DC books to be published in some kind of hardcover format!
Makes you think there's something wrong with the world if you have to explain that enjoying or found interesting hypermasculine (as they say) stuff is not a bad thing.
I've had ripped pages like that in Spider-Man Epic vol 9 Spider-Man or spider Clone. I nearly sent it back when it first released but decided to keep it in the end.😔
why does Spawn and lobo have to get stuck in compendium form. that's not fair at all. I don't wan a compendium, I don't want an absolute deluxe . I want an omnibus
I bought this, really reluctantly, This should have been a hardcover omnibus. and the Paramilitary Christmas special trilogy should be an Absolute. He's one of my top 5 characters across all publishers so I wanted to be able to read the story's, However I can't stand compendiums. I'm fairly sure he's one of the more popular characters that DC put out, and so deserves a more deluxe format, but I don't know what DC are playing at, they constantly change formats, spines ,covers and paper stock as some sort of cost-cutting exercise(?), If they ever release this as an Omnibus at some stage, I will double dip of course but won't be happy about it.
This book is so freaking gorgeous. I love it and I cannot wait for more.

I am PRO compendium!!! And i will definitely be picking this up soon
Omar, could you do a most wanted Compendium video? Also any chance we'll see your haul soon. I always enjoy those.😄

Anything by Alan Grant is a most have for me.

I had some pages too... Im glad I'm not the only one

Please more compendiums DC. I'm not Rockefeller. And the quality is absolutely sufficient.
I just got mine from Target today and it has the new/old DC bullet logo.
Thank you, Omar!

The design really does pop. Big and bombastic, much like lobo.
Nice to see the Main Man getting some love.
Every compendium (or standard size hardcover) that comes out, people flock to the comment section to cry their tears that they wanted an omnibus.
because we want omnibus hard covers that don't get damaged and ripped easy. and these companies know we want omnibus but they don't do it anyway
@@nolakazi maybe these companies know that some of their customers would rather spend less money per page and get more reading done per dollar? So maybe there's more than one type of customer out there? Maybe this world won't be immediately catering to your every desire to purchase something?
Oh wow! I want this one!
Awesome, I just got it from Amazon for $76au delivered tomorrow...
Ok, I'm sold. Gonna get me my copy.
A thirteen hundred page omnibus would've been nice too.
A true crime that Lobo didn't get an omnibus. I'm still holding out hope.
fragging great!!!
Love the spine
Stoked to get this and I'll gladly double dip if they eventually release an omni. Loved the Main Man's fraggin' comics when I was a teenager.
My copy does have the torn pages.

I just want it for the Bisley art
Picked this one up already so will avoid the spoilers.
Hopefully the review helps others decide if it's for them or not 🙂

Only to get an omnibus in 6 months.
I’d love it if they did that! 👍🏼💙
It could happen
This is a faggin' great video, Omar! Thanks!!!
Never apologize for something being hypermasculine. There are men AND women that enjoy that sort of thing.
Makes you think there's something wrong with the world if you have to explain that enjoying or found interesting hypermasculine (as they say) stuff is not a bad thing.
😂
Some people just don't understand satire. It's the same thing with Robocop and Starship Troopers (movies).
You're aware that it's making fun of hypermasculinity eh? The whole thing is played as a joke.
@@Ferdinand-jv2vq WE know that. Its the people that want him and characters like him banned "for what they represent".
Compendium spines look so good on the shelf.
A DC compendium vid getting 5k views 👀
FRAG IT!!!! It’s about fraggin’ time. I must have this !!!
Hi Omar, I have never read Lobo before. Is this a good starting point ?
Thank you :)
Just dropped this so I’m excited to finally be able to say this: Fifty-Third!!!1!
Somewhere I have a Judge Dredd/Lobo crossover. Had forgotten about it until now. Will have to dig it out!
This is the only omnibus I own.
Hey Omar is there two covers for lobo compendium ?
Just this one.
Awesome video! I picked it up, and can't wait to read some of the issues I haven't read bef😂re. He is one of my favorite DC characters.
Lobo Convention Special is easy one of my fav comics ever.
“ dont do that it is ridiculous “😂😂
Fragg yeah!!!!!😂
This compendium is mapped in chronological order?
You had me at overly-masculine
I've had ripped pages like that in Spider-Man Epic vol 9 Spider-Man or spider Clone. I nearly sent it back when it first released but decided to keep it in the end.😔

More compendiun pleaseee
I'm really hoping for L.E.G.I.O.N. to be collected.
They should have included The Wisdom of Lobo lol
Better than Deadpool imo
FRAG ..☝I would literally have to pay to have this book professionally sewn & hardcover bound

I want to buy it, but honestly DC should've made it into a omnibus hc
Compendium..uhhhh....i really dislike that word! Why cant everything be Hardcover! The Tim Drake compendium Reallyyyy should have been Hardcover!
I think it’s so they can release a hardcover later if they want.
Double profits from double dippers.
If this was an omni it’d be a bit for me. I pass on compendiums. I have a 600 page limit for paperbacks.
601 pages my man says “na na” 😆
@@NastyTete the line must be drawn here no further!! LOL
I'll skip.... should have been an Omnibus
Should of ended the sentence with “hmph 😆
@@NastyTete hrumph even…. We should get some Bisley in oversized!
Really hoping for a L.E.G.I.O.N./.R.E.B.E.L.S. omni or compendium SOONER than later! What do you think?
Love the spine
