    That’s an interesting premise since:
    1. Education doesn’t always equal intelligence/good morals.
    2. The jury can have other educated people on it, too.
    3. Judges are by no means perfect.
We have this system for a reason. 👍🏻

But without the proper education in law, rethoric and logic, a jury can be easily manipulated. It’s still possible with well educated, specialised and controlled judges, but way harder

@@tjarkf I don’t know about manipulated, but certainly influenced. And if the court can influence around a dozen people, then they must have made an effective argument. But I’m sure they’re many factors involved either way.

@@contextiscool7308 I would say, a good lawyer would be able to manipulate a jury, that may not be dump, but simply not trained on law and court business. Maybe the lawyer makes the story very emotional or builds a narrative, that implies a seemingly logically constructed proof, which flaws and biases are just very hard to discover. Even judges can be fooled by this, but at least it’s their job to be prepared for this.
Vsauce has a great video on a terrible example for a „mathematical proof“ in court, worth watching!

@@tjarkf I would say an effective lawyer maybe, but whether he is good is up for debate. 😉 I’d say that’s fair, though. Understanding the law is not always something taught in general education, but definitely should be. I’ll have to check out that VSauce video. Thanks. 👍

@@contextiscool7308 Yeah, you’ve got a point with that one, I didn’t mean to see this kinda action in a good light😅
I also agree with you in terms of education in law, but obviously you can’t get the same level of knowledge and experience a professional judge has to be taught in schools.
And even if you can, for many members of a jury the years of school probably are far away
