    • @WasabiNoise
      @WasabiNoise  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't consider myself that good with mixing. I started making music very young but I also stopped making music for a long time.
      Some tips that helped me with my latest songs:
      - Have a reference song, close to my style, to check how things sound.
      - Switch between monitors and headphones when finding the right level.
      - With headphones lower the volume until you can barely hear the song. This made a huge improvement because I could then hear instruments that were too loud. This is probably the best tip of all. If you play things too loud anything sounds good and you get used to that level. Try playing it super quieter, and check how your favorite songs sound at lower level.

    Maybe you can help me. I got the Lumi Keys but i can't change the colours like you have in this video. For example in the Roli Studio Player Arpeggiator has always an orange color attached. But i would like to have it just the white color like in your video. When i change the window, like close the Roli Studio Player and work inside of Ableton. I have different colours but there the Arpeggiator does not light up. I only get the effect when the Roli Studio Player Plugin is open. Do you understand what i mean? I would like to custom change the Arpeggiator Color to match your colours here in the video. Cheers Daniel

    • @WasabiNoise
      @WasabiNoise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure about your equipment specifically.
      If you connect your LUMI using the USB cable into your computer, then you should be able to use it with a DAW and control external gear that is connected to your computer already. You don’t need MIDI from LUMI to do that, it all happens in the computer using USB. In this video I’m sending the arp using Ableton Live.
      This is assuming you want to make music (the iOS app works separately and won’t work with external gear or other controllers).

    Nice, thanks for the video. in the beginning when you are using the Lumi for the arps, is this using Live or the software of Roli? Background is, can you get the scale indication and arps lights when using a DAW, or only when using the software of Roli?

    • @WasabiNoise
      @WasabiNoise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m using Ableton Live arp. You can always change the general scale regardless of DAW or VST. Then Roli vst has some extras and different colors

    • @muitosabao
      @muitosabao 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WasabiNoise thanks for the reply. Ah so there's a roli vst that takes care of the scale, lights etc? Just ordered mine, and trying to understand some things.

    • @WasabiNoise
      @WasabiNoise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have a general software that runs on windows/mac level that controls the lights, in one mode you can select the color you want. Then you have the VST where you can do chords/arps.
      In the video I didn’t use the VST, I routed the MIDI output back to the LUMI so it lights up. I made a video with the setup on Live. Tried the same on Logic without success tho.
