These one Minute of Mae reviews are a great format. For rifle reviews, I watch the first time as intended. Then watch a second time, ignore Mae, pause frequently, and study the rifle in detail, looking for whatever I missed the first time. Then watch a third time, listen to her every word, and watch the human-rifle ergonomics, such as loading, cycling the bolt, and recoil.

    "Thats a good strip"
    Yes, yes it is!
Fyi to anyone who is unaware. On most Mauser actions, once you've stripped in your cartridges, just shove the bolt forward. It will automatically eject the clip with no damage.
    Much faster.

One of these in 7x57 is a fun little gun but they are a bit hard to find and the ammo costs a bit more, so I picked up a Chilean and Spanish carbine 93&95 both in .308 and they turned out to be cheap to run but not pleasant to shoot at all, I got rid of both guns quickly as the .308 had feed issues from being to short and the but plate was too small for a .308 carbine to be shot comfortably. (the Spanish one was the worse of the two)

They do multiple takes across multiple guns over a whole day. Fatigue. Also, it allows her and Othias to see into the action for case ruptures or double feeds so they dont damage a very valuable loaner gun that doesnt belong to them. Also it's way better for filming. How else would you film those smooth vs snagging bolt throws?

I believe that's actually the intended way to hold "old world" military rifles/carbines like this, rather than wrapping your thumb over the grip like most people. I might be wrong, since I don't have much evidence to back that up, but I recall the Martini-Henri rifles having a textured indent on the rear of the receiver for the shooter to rest their thumb on while firing.
If that's the case, it's just a different way of doing things from the past, which is what they try to replicate. Same reason she shoots handguns one-handed, it was the style at the time.
