They didn't show whether he's an enabler. Or does he eat OK while he watches her shovel it in. Maybe he was fascinated at her capacity for holding that much food. Her esophagus must be huge. I have a stricture from stomach acid which prevents too much food from passing. Choking is possible. Over eating never happens. In my case carbs are tolerated more than meat, but I work hard to control eating carbs. The gastric bypass works by preventing overeating or they get sick. I'm basically shocked t their ability to get more than a few big bites down their gullet without throwing up.

Overweight people unfortunately statistically are much more abusive than the average partner, especially mentally. They tend to put their problems on someone else that can handle it since they can’t.

It’s a really hard place to be for her mum. I’m sure she feels guilty because on one level she would feel SHE should be there, but on another, her daughter is 30! No excuse for trying to put guilt on the boyfriend though. The responsibility for her weight is only Mya’s.

My God, Sir ... I can only hope you can find the therapy you need to recover from that ... The reason why I say that is because my mum was a narcissistic bully; along with Munchausen-esque symptoms over my younger, severely disabled, sister ... So when I say I know what that abuse is like, trust me when I say the damage she did to me is a deep rabbit hole, mentally, emotionally, and psychologically. Even after moving out of home, she acted in ways that basically cut me off from my entire family ... Hence, when she died in March, last year, her death tore open those wounds I thought were healed ... apparently not. Fortunately, I had a extremely helpful therapist I had worked on a lot of issues before, and one of the few that truly understood the mental, emotional, psychological, physical, and yes, even sexual abuse, and rape, that happened, by our dad, but which she tried to bury as fast as possible, because of reasons I cannot fathom ... I haven't put my Gmail address on my TH-cam 'About', but, when I do, feel free to give me a shout, even if you just need some to hear you vent into the void ... ... but know, you're are not alone ... fortunately, male victims of domestic violence are taken vastly more seriously than way back in the 1980's. I thought it was very telling when she said "ugh, now I have to do this ish for another month!" like, girl, it's meant to be a LIFESTYLE change. This isn't just another month of hard work, it's a life time! In the same way they will justify little weigh loss with "well, at least it's a loss" without thinking in the bigger picture a loss is positive, but if you're that big, and not losing big amounts it's an indication that you haven't embraced the lifestyle change aspect, and will likely revert back to old ways and old weight after surgery. It's the same as her relationship really, she was really focused on "why couldn't you just answer him?!" rather than acknowledging that they have deep and serious issues. She wants to just paper over the cracks "at least it's a loss" without putting in real effort and making hard decisions

I’m 19 and still do this lol, my mom has high key made me dependent on her by suffocating me and sheltering me because I’m her only child. I’m slowly pulling away from her though and becoming more independent.

@@MeghanF93 so he left her and told her via text then at her next appointment she gained 5lbs in the past month and she went to a therapist and she still has loose 50 lbs so she goes and talks to the therapist and she talks about how when she was little her parents would talk about how big she was and how her dad left her family and how low her self esteem is and how Christan left her made her depressed then she "takes a break" from the program because she knows she can't meet the goals at that point and it's too stressful and enters volunteer work in Oregon for an organization that throws birthday parties for homeless kids (I know adorable) and that's how her episode ends she says she isnt gonna give up on loosing weight but the stress of meeting goals every month is something she can't deal with so I'm under the impression she quit but it's not specifically stated 😀

There's a show on the History channel called Alone. 10 contestants are left alone, literally, in the wilderness usually in northern Canada to live off the land. The last one who stays and doesn't ask to be sent home gets a $500k prize. Usually the competition becomes about sourcing food because most of the contestants are skilled at survival so whoever can find food and/or conserve energy usually wins. So far all the winners were men, because they are larger, and those who won either got big game or were good at fishing. But even with that they usually lose up to 100lb. This woman can just go sit there and do nothing and all this fat will keep her alive for more than 100 days (unless a bear eats her).

Actually if you look at it he didn't enable her. She would leave out of the house in the mornings, telling him she was going to run errands, and she would really go to three or four different restaurants to fed her face. She stated that she would go out to do that because she didn't want him to know how much she really ate. I just don't understand how she felt he was ruining her weight loss surgery. She was the one weighing that much and eating herself to death. She was was ruining her own surgery by not caring enough for herself. You have to love yourself even if no one else does and if you can't love yourself enough to lose the weight to save your life don't lay that blame on anyone else.
There was this clip in the beginning of the episode where she asks him for her purse because she’s too lazy to get up and get it herself, and after an argument about it, she snatches it out of his hands in such a nasty way. I don’t think she even cares to hold back on camera, but I can’t imagine it would be any better off camera, either.

I have a stricture from stomach acid which prevents too much food from passing. Choking is possible. Over eating never happens. In my case carbs are tolerated more than meat, but I work hard to control eating carbs. The gastric bypass works by preventing overeating or they get sick. I'm basically shocked t their ability to get more than a few big bites down their gullet without throwing up.

In the same way they will justify little weigh loss with "well, at least it's a loss" without thinking in the bigger picture a loss is positive, but if you're that big, and not losing big amounts it's an indication that you haven't embraced the lifestyle change aspect, and will likely revert back to old ways and old weight after surgery.
It's the same as her relationship really, she was really focused on "why couldn't you just answer him?!" rather than acknowledging that they have deep and serious issues. She wants to just paper over the cracks "at least it's a loss" without putting in real effort and making hard decisions

@@MeghanF93 so he left her and told her via text then at her next appointment she gained 5lbs in the past month and she went to a therapist and she still has loose 50 lbs so she goes and talks to the therapist and she talks about how when she was little her parents would talk about how big she was and how her dad left her family and how low her self esteem is and how Christan left her made her depressed then she "takes a break" from the program because she knows she can't meet the goals at that point and it's too stressful and enters volunteer work in Oregon for an organization that throws birthday parties for homeless kids (I know adorable) and that's how her episode ends she says she isnt gonna give up on loosing weight but the stress of meeting goals every month is something she can't deal with so I'm under the impression she quit but it's not specifically stated 😀

She would leave out of the house in the mornings, telling him she was going to run errands, and she would really go to three or four different restaurants to fed her face.
