the fact that me listening to this a couple of years ago when i was at my lowest and now listening to it again in a bittersweet way, while i’m doing so much better, heals and breaks my heart
the violin part feels like the turmoil you feel when your life is moving on and you’re growing out of your grief yet you feel guilty for it but you come to accept it and realise that just because you’re growing and the grief dims, it doesn’t mean you never loved that person. you carry their memory with you everyday
I once compared the original version of the song to me falling in love with the love of my life , now he’s gone and this version is our story ending . Thank you

This song brings a part back of that makes me so emotional, I don’t know whether it’s yearly depression or something but I’ve realised how far I’ve come as a person and that I should be so grateful for the life I have cause I may be living the life people dream for
it feels like family idk 3:54 like this part just feels like an uncle or a grandfather putting on a silly performance to cheer you up and the people giggling in the background i’m gonna sob
This song always kills me. It breaks me in ways I can’t even begin to get into. Three years ago I lost my person, my grandmom. I had woken up at 5 am and was headed over to visit her. This song was playing as I drove and I ended up getting there just a few minutes too late. She passed while this song was on and I listen to it for comfort most days. It makes me feel connected to her and I can’t even begin to thank you for that.
I found this song in 2018 through my bestfriend. She took her life the same year. This song was like grief to me. I listened to it everyday, crying my heart out while begging for my bestfriend back. Its been 7 years, I occasionally listen to this song. But now that this version is out it feels like accepting her death. I'm still not over it, but I've accepted it. Thank you for sharing this ! ! !
this is exactly how it feels when you realise it will never ever get better and you are just holding on to the hope of it. it is also how i feel when i realise i am impossible to love.
This really feels like my cancer journey. The feeling of losing your body’s control, the fear of dying, the ups and downs of chemo, chemo finally done, multiple tests to be made again, surgery, radiation,… its bitersweet.
To anyone reading this: You are worth it! You can do it! You’re so beautiful! You’re loved! And I am so proud of you, no matter how big or small your achievements may be
I love when an artist includes everyone in the show, it's a full experience. The audience get to be a part and the whole music crew and the artist. That's such a humble way to share a special bond in my opinion. Such a beautiful piece of art this song is.
2:13 everything about this part to 3:01 is absolutely amazing. i love this song entirely too much. ): i just love it so much. this song is exactly how and what i feel.
Patrick Watson doesn't play with his hands, he plays with the gentle strands of his soul and I feel it in mine. Thank you Patrick for Je te laisserai des mots!!! :-)).
I will leave words under your door, under the walls that are singing not far from the place where you're walking...... When you're alone Pick me up when you want, kiss me when you want. It's a love song ❤
I remember in 2021, I used to sit where my cat used to sleep and cry like a baby to this song after losing him..this song healed and broke something inside me. Your art is so beautiful.
don’t get me wrong this is a beautiful version, but i feel like the original will forever be the most gut wrenching one. this one has a feeling to it i can’t really seem to explain

I remember the day I found this song before it got popular. This was one of my favorites. I been through a lot with this song during my freshman year. But this version of this song sounds more heartbreaking but also like an accomplish that I have been through heart breaking times. And for anyone out there. I’m proud of you. And how far you came through with life, and don’t give up yet. ❤
Incroyable interprétation 🤩. Pour vous avoir vu avec l’orchestre symphonique à la place des Arts de Montréal, je confirme que vous êtes un vrai artiste de scène - original, spontané, généreux et avec un rire contagieux 😊
I remember 3 years ago I would cry my heart out every day after school in my room after being heartbroken. This song brings back so many somber memories. And I’m at a point in life where I’m starting to feel sad again. This song is forever one of my favourites. ☹️
