The Japanese started invading China in 1931. So the Chinese people were fighting a much longer war than the Europeans were fighting the Nazi’s. Different from the Germans, the Japanese never apologized to the Chinese people, instead, they denied what they did to the Chinese and other Asian people. The Australians also seem to have forgotten how their soldiers were being tortured to death by the Japanese. The world need to remember what really happened.
Staying in Japan for a long time, I found that many Japanese people do not know history at all (young people really do not know, older people deliberately avoid), I know this is a jungle world, but a country ignore history is really right? History cannot be forgotten. You're very brave. Thank you.

Wow, incredible comment. Ivana and I have been to the museum at Auschwitz (German concentration camp in Poland), and we had a similar (albeit maybe less extreme) experience as the old Unit 731 museum you mentioned. It was a bit overwhelming. We found the current Unit 731 Museum to be pretty thorough in terms of the details surrounding the experimentation and the war, but manageable in terms of how vividly it pained the atrocities. Anyway, thanks for commenting and watching our video. We always enjoy museums and sometimes the darker/sadder ones are the most important ones.
As a Chinese, thank you for showing this piece of history. "People who have experienced war understand the value of peace better. Remember history, honor the martyrs, cherish peace, and create a future." -------Xi Jinping September 3, 2015
6 star for my favorite TH-camr, one bonus star because you got balls to tell the world about Unit731. What Japanese did in WW2 is no less than the nazi, but most western world don’t know it because there is no Chinese version of Schindler's List
Thank you so much for your support & donation. Every dollar really goes a long way to helping us. We appreciate your support and are glad you enjoy our videos :) . More China videos to come!
It’s not because there is no chinese version of a movie, it’s purely because of geopolitics and post WWII world order. The US and the West deliberately erased this piece of history from the MSM and hollywood, not long after the war, opposite to all the efforts they put in to make people remember Nazis and the holocaust. The real reason is that the US has made Japan their semi-colony (by having military bases on the soil) and their important ally in asia pacific, so they choose not to grill japan for that. Another reason being, US has made deals with the japanese for getting the United 731 research and experiment results, and even recruited some of the criminals. The US also gave the right of governance of ryokyo to Japan, though Japan doesnt have the right to sovereignty (based on Cairo agreement post the war, Japan only rightfully owns the 4 big islands, no others). But now Japan not only governs ryokyo and annihilated their local culture, but also claims sovereignty to other small islands and have territorial disputes with ALL its neighbours. How disgusting.
What a lovely couple! Here's some background information about Harbin: In the early 20th century, the Russian Tsar was overthrown in a revolution, leading to the escape of many Russian nobles. Some went to Europe, while others sought refuge in the Far East, including Harbin. As a result, Harbin boasts numerous Russian-style buildings and cuisine. The Chinese-Russian population in the border regions of China consists of the descendants of those who escaped to China. Despite having just three days, you still managed to visit the 731 Memorial Museum. It's remarkable that, among the many TH-camrs who visit China, you are the only ones I've seen who visited this museum, even though its somber content may not directly benefit travel videos. As a Chinese person, I sincerely thank you for your visit. I hope you have a smooth and joyful journey! Looking forward to your new videos!
Harbin was founded by Russia in 1898 and was Russian until 1932. China leased whole region to Russia in 1896 for 80 years. But in 1932 it was intervened and occupied by Japan.

Thank you for sharing. All Chinese people in both mainland China and Taiwan suffered during the Japanese colonial period, and these sufferings cannot be forgotten. Love from Taiwan ❤️❤️❤
Thanks for the trip to Unit 731 Museum! The history of World War II in East Asia and the suffering of the Chinese people have long been ignored. I'm glad you shared this with the public.
Thanks for your donation, and remember we are glad to have made this video. We enjoy learning about history-- no matter how sad/dark, and we feel it is right to share the truth. Thanks again.
Thanks for showing your viewers the 731 Museum🙏 More people from the world should know the atrocities Chinese people had been through during WWII. Commemorating war museums is not to promote hate towards Japanese people, just like the Auschwitz Museum is not for Jews to forever hating the Germans. It simply reminds us that wars are horrific, and we must not repeat the same mistakes from the past. As a Chinese, and only speaking for myself, I have many close Japanese friends and really appreciate their politeness and kindness. Only by visiting these museums, one can realize how quickly wars can turn humans into animals... Let's not forget history, and let's make the world a better and more peaceful place for all🙏🙏🙏 Happy Chinese New Year!

Thanks for this donation! The museum was very well presented and organized... and although it was very crowded, we managed to see/read everything during our time there. We recommend it.
Wow, I did not even know this kind of museum existed, nor did I know this kind of atrocity took place. I am a proud Chinese and been living in Europe for most of my life. This was never taught in school and I always thought the Holocaust was the most darkest part of human history. I plan to visit this museum on my next visit to China. Steve & Ivana, Thank You guys sooo much for putting this out there. Happy Chinese New Year to you both ❤️
The leaders of Unit 731 were able to avoid the punishment even though they were sentenced as war criminals and moved to US, eventually became advisors at Fort Detrick. Just google it.
Thanks for this donation! We are glad to share the history. We both enjoy (especially Steve), learning about history as we travel, and so we are glad this video had such an engaged audience. Thanks for watching and supporting!
I watched your video with tears in my eyes, even though I am a Chinese I have never visited this exhibition hall. I have been in Japan for ten years and I will never forget that I am a Chinese, no matter what.
something to add for people who are interested: 1. some local people or people who visited Unit 731 site before when there was an “old part” opened said that today’s museum/site is rather “plain” and “conserved” because the museum only uses a lot picture images so it is less traumatising to more age groups. 2. before the Japanese army left they also realised batches and batches of rats and pests which carried viruses to the wild causing contagious diseases going around China for the following decades, it only got controlled till 1950’s. 3. Most of the people committed the crime never got punished, instead they lived privileged lives and became elites in post war Japan’s political sector, medical sectors or research institutes. 4. Most of the evidence got destroyed, only these small amount of evidences have been obtained by Soviet red army who also prosecuted the captured ones as war criminals.
In the trial of war criminals during World War II, the United States helped 731 war criminals evade trial and brought the main researchers of 731 to the United States with high salaries, establishing the Fort Derrick US Army Laboratory. The poisoning of American civilians around the 1960s came from these people
The victorious American elites let the Unit 731 Japanese war criminals go unpunished in exchange for their experimental documents/records/results, for its own nefarious agendas.
Regarding 3 the US literally made the Japanese governor of occupied Manchuria into the post war Japanese president. His grandson who called him a role mode Shinzo Abe.
Thank you for visiting 731 museum. It was unexpected to view in this episode. Although we were taught by our history teacher when we were in high school, I never view this museum in any youtube channel. Hats off to you guys!!
It is unfortunate how the west propagandize the holocaust but ignore what Japan did. Everyone should know the real history regardless. But it is not something to talk about while eating food.
It is not they ignore what Japan did but they indirectly absorbed all Japanese horrible expedition into their very own labs, exposing Japanese act meant exposing themselves. To date I don't think I can accept the explanation of SARS came from the bat poo which drop onto the fruit, the farmer harvested the fruit not knowing the fruit contaminated hence it's lead to SARC epidemic. This is BS.. how is the virus only attack certain receptor which is founded on Chinese genetic but not other ethnic/race.
In Europe it's mostly because of how the holocaust directly affected us... Here in France, Jews being deported, persecuted and killed all over the country. Let's not forget either of these two tragedies... Thankfully it seems documentaries and TH-cam videos about it over the last 20 years have taught us what the japanese really did, while it was pushed under the rug for decades. Let's never forget the horrors of war and make sure it all never happens again 🤝
@@TheChoppip Europeans and Americans often talk big about human rights etc. But they have failed to act whether in the past or now. They didn't speak up against Hitler or Japanese Empire or did anything at all until they became their targets. Japanese even bbq some American war prisoners for dinner but US prefer to play geopolitics.
Many years have passed, and the movie "Black Sun 731" can still scare me. Live experiments conducted with a large number of Chinese and a small number of Russians and Koreans. After World War II, as an exchange for exemption from punishment, the 731 unit handed over experimental data to the United States (Fort Detrick), and many members of the 731 unit joined major hospitals in Japan.
Chinese people are very moved that foreigners are willing to learn this period of history.Thank you so much!Happy Chinese new year!We all hope you have great time in China!
It's not Japan that has not atoned. It's the LDP government that has run Japan almost unbroken since 1945. The LDP that is supported by the US and has deep ties to it with almost all of its top members having been educated in the US. The LDP has never atoned, and continues to be the way it is at the behest of the US government that uses the LDP as a weapon against China. There is no way to talk about the LDP government of Japan not atoning for what was done without also talking about how right after WW2 the same guys that ran Imperial Japan were recruited by the US to run Japan (what became the LDP government) because the US knew they would so what they wanted. Namely turn Japan into a vassal state of the US that could be used as a base of operations in East Asia. Not least of all to keep China in check. The main opposition in Japan .....the Constitutional democratic Party has atonement to China as part of its platform. As well as a multi polar foreign policy. In contrast to the unipolar (focused on America) foreign policy of the LDP. But it's very difficult for them to win because the LDP sets the rules for elections, and makes the Japanese education syllabus which is super pro American. Which indoctrinates Japanese people into voting for the super pro American party .....the LDP.

The Chinese are grateful to everyone who takes our history seriously. The crimes of the Japanese and their refusal to apologize and ignore the crimes so far should be condemned by peace-loving people all over the world. And you, my friend, I am very grateful for your voice, and I also say thank you for the other six friends
Thank you for showing the Unit 731 museum. Most westerner choose to ignore how the Chinese had suffered long from the invasion of Japan before start of WW2. Until today the japanese has not apologised.
@@cosmoray9750 the left wing has been trying to expose these thing, but unfortunately the post war japan is dominated by the right wing which is made of war criminals who gave their military control to the US to exchange for the protection. Thank you both for your courage in sharing the harrowing story of Unit 731 with the world. As a museum that reveals the dark chapters of history, it's a story often unheard of in the West, yet it's so crucial to remember. Your willingness to dedicate one of your normally joyful travel videos to this somber subject shows incredible depth and respect for history. Thank you for sharing the tour of 731 museum. Personally I really dont like the nationalism and antijapanese atmosphere in China. But for all Chinese people, all East Asian and Southeast Asian people, the war crime Japan made during the second sino japanese war and second world war should never be forget and forgive. What makes the unit 731 special is: unlike the war crime in Europe, Japanese not simply mass killing, but doing vivisections experiment on living human, and most of these participant become doctor and researcher in US and Japan after war, they not get trialed and punished, because they receive immunity from US by trade experiment information. btw really happy to see you enjoy the trip in Harbin, its an amazing city, really like your video!
We appreciate you support, donation & comment. History is often tough to swallow-- and we shouldn't forget. But, we also shouldn't hold today's people accountable for the actions of people generations ago, like you said. And yes, we loved Harbin! What a place :) and what a memory for us!

I hope you can have a happy Chinese New Year in China. I wish you and your wife a Happy Chinese New Year in advance.❤❤❤❤

Thanks for this donation. We appreciate it very much because every single dollar/yuan/peso helps us keep traveling. Thanks again.
谢谢
Thanks. This should be seen by more people.

Let's not forget history, and let's make the world a better and more peaceful place for all🙏🙏🙏 Happy Chinese New Year!

as a Chinese living in the states, I haven’t gotten a chance to visit 731 museum. Thank you for taking me a tour, I would like to visit there in person one day as well.
Just google it.

something to add for people who are interested:
1. some local people or people who visited Unit 731 site before when there was an “old part” opened said that today’s museum/site is rather “plain” and “conserved” because the museum only uses a lot picture images so it is less traumatising to more age groups.
2. before the Japanese army left they also realised batches and batches of rats and pests which carried viruses to the wild causing contagious diseases going around China for the following decades, it only got controlled till 1950’s.
I WAS told when I visited UNIT 731 that I only saw a fraction and the the rest of documentation was too horrible to see.
A moment of silence to the victims of unit 731 😢.
Harbin is so beautiful.

I like the last phrase
It's absolutely horrible that they don't talk about the atrocities that Japan committed during WW2
Thankyou for visiting the Unit 731 museum. Have you seen the famous photo of Shinzo Abe posing in a plane with 731 written on it? Japan has not atoned
They should put that photo in the museum.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the 731 Memorial, it's very heartwarming for a Canadian to take the initiative to learn about China's history!❤
