Being in London for last few years, I can tell you that there is not a single restaurant or food place across London where we get served authentic Indian food. Sad but true
Southall comes quite close when it comes to north indian /punjabi food, East Ham and Ilford have some restaurants that serve pretty authentic Indian "restaurant" food. Saravana Bhavan is of course an exception, their south indian fare is almost indistinguisable from what we get in India.
Thank you for highlighting that Indian cuisine extends far beyond Punjabi food and curry. India boasts a rich tapestry of diverse culinary traditions, often overlooked by many in Western countries. Your visit to the UK is appreciated, and I hope you'll also have the opportunity to explore Vancouver someday. Your content is truly inspiring, and I wish you continued success. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend exploring Georgian cuisine-it's truly remarkable! ❤❤❤
One thing I appreciated what Camellia Punjabi said, and it speaks volumes about her personality....I dont know her, but I got a sneak peek into why Kunal called her an icon. The way she said, that Indian restaurants in Mumbai serve no Indian food, only punjabi food. Mumbai food itself is missing in mumbai restaurants. And, rest of the country is not there only, in 'Indian' cuisine restaurants. I myself have noticed this. I dont know what rest of the Indian food is. If it wasn't for TH-cam, I would never realise that so many gems exist in other parts of India. And, she said this, possibly, herself being a Punjabi. It speaks volumes about the respect she has for food, and our country as a whole.
The punjabi sisters are an institution. Have heard of them, read them since i was young and they are still going strong. That is passion, the zest for life. Unfortunately never been to their restaurant. ❤
Hey Kunal Welcome to London !! Visit Gymkhana restaurant - Dover street . Received its second Michelin star recently. Lovely episode with iconic Camilla Punjabi and Namita Punjabi .
Being a regular viewer of this show, one can sense the pain in Kunal's face having to fake his opinions on some of the dishes. Especially the mutton biryani😅 Most items looked drier than they should be. The onion was not well coated with batter. And fish in fish curry soaks up the gravy, not supposed to be separate! etc etc. Innovation is good but food should still be tasty. Well, nice try but this restaurant will not get a good rating from someone who has tasted authentic Indian food. But good attempt for showcasing our culture🤗
Ohhh Camellia Punjabi has a great contribution to shape Indian hotel industry.. today’s Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai iconic restaurant Sea lounge was redesigned by her.. so today’s evening hightea is her idea.. happy to see her on this Chanel..
Kunal, aap ka peth hai, ya tijori, aap ko khate dek ta ho, mera appetite mar jata hai. How do you do it. Your presentation and eating skulls are just WAH, keep on doing till you want ,as we ,the people are left mouths OPEN.❤
I once saw an episode of You Gotta Eat Here London edition with comedian/host John Catucci. He went to a restaurant called Roti Chai and enjoyed Indian fare. Kunal Sir I hope you enjoyed yourself!!!!❤😎
Indeed masala zone food is Divine… I had a couple of chances to eat there. However, I differ with your opinion that there are few places in Mumbai which serves Mumbai curries. There is Chetana at kala ghoda and Goa Portuguesa.. 2 of the best restaurants to try local food at its best..
Namaste sir I am Ronald gurjar from Gujarat vadodara Sorry meri English itni acchi nahi hai Pr me aapke chennal ka ek hissa hu.. Completely agree with camelia, even in Gujarati thali it has paneer n chhole just cz it sells though cost wise it's expensive at cost of gujarati veggies n dhokla etc
Ultimate Spot Anna in LONDON #godsavethekings Kudos and Salute to the ladies.. WESTERNERS know our culture as BOLLYWOOD, Bread & Butter Chicken with breads and Punjab , BOMBAY & DELHI - Hindi..South India as Kerala only based on the nature. The way the sisters designed to break steretoyping....SALUTE. I face the same problem with AUSTRALIANS with this stereotyping DO NOT Forget there is TODDY Shop with all the native dishes done by a KERALITE in London too.. PLease do visit there too.. Cheers from #pollachi #tamilnadu #southindia
That onion Bhajiya is not a knife skill, there is a special chopper for it and I have seen in many videos that it’s a very popular street food in Gujrat!
It is really good that you explore a lot of food items across India and the World but the only thing I want to know is whether u eat everything that u order or is it wasted?
Kunal I am a big fan of ur channel and dishes you show. I am in UK from long time so i didn't like this episode..its not a street food😮 just 1 location a bad idea.😯 food should be affordable, forget hygiene or ambience
I went yesterday…to be honest I only order biryani n desert. After having tasted nearly every biryani in London my honest opinion will be it’s Lamb biryani : 5/10. It’s more of ambience and the aesthetics. I still would prefer Madhu’s Mayfair over this.
Made a difference to Indian food in the uk? 😂. Indians born and raised here would know who the true connoisseurs are and also the top restaurant here. Being of Indian origin with family tracing roots to Gujarat I can say there is some top places to eat in Harrow, and close to where I use to live one of the best nastha places in England it’s called santosh restaurant.
When in central London please be careful. Don't put items on the floor when outside doors. Lots of urine stains and urine. This is because people urinate in the streets do to alot of pubs, bars and clubs. There is always a strong stench of urine in the streets
I visited that restaurant last month.it is very expensive and zero taste. Just a fancy restaurant. As we r indians so we know the actual Indian taste. And there i had dahi puri and biryani it was just bland and less quantity. puries just stuff's with lil tasteless potato and curd and emliy chatni was spread on puries with sauce styles.makeing fools to forgingers they don't know what actually taste is. 😂
I avoid making negative comments but when it comes to Kunal i am a longtime follower. It hurts to see he has been pushed to doing this. A restaurant with such a long endless menu of things with so many ingredients would not be able to keep up the quality when the tables are packed or when its completely empty. When some one says, “We bake Pav every single day in the morning”, that itself gives me a sense of gimmick over potential.
So I was right once again....I doubted when she said "not at all" cz till date I haven't met a foreigner who can digest indian food unless spices r bland
I switched off the moment I saw Kheema being served with Sambar, that's a fail. Experimenting with food is all well and good, but Kheema with Sambar is a disaster. Bhajiya with runny yolk? Yikes, that sounds like the stuff of nightmares.
Kunal Sir, I respect you a lot. But we both know, the food doesn't come even close to Indian food. Vadapav really like the one's me get in Mumbai? Please don't loose your credibility like this 🥴
I don’t understand if he his going to London he should try the food over there why have the same Indian food and which can’t be compared with the food of india
Being in London for last few years, I can tell you that there is not a single restaurant or food place across London where we get served authentic Indian food. Sad but true
There is in Wembley, some places are pretty close to traditional street food
@_mitali.x Guess you are referring Sarvana bhavan and Mumbai local
Southall comes quite close when it comes to north indian /punjabi food, East Ham and Ilford have some restaurants that serve pretty authentic Indian "restaurant" food. Saravana Bhavan is of course an exception, their south indian fare is almost indistinguisable from what we get in India.
Did you mean London United Kingdom? You cannot be serious pal.
@@bulbouschute , yea, even the famous chicken tikka masala is not the one which we get in India.

Firstly most of those curry u call Punjabi abroad aren't Punjabi

The presentation is amazing ❤
I love the host.. he does not mind gobbling or smacking on the food. He seems genuine while eating
11:12 That's not onion bhajia, it's an American appetizer, blooming onion (and other various names). It's sold all over US at Fairs, Restaurants.
Must have been so challenging for these ladies to establish themselves on a foreign land.. Hats off to them 👍👍
5:45 In Bihar, it's called "Egg-Poch" (i.e anda-poch). It's popular during winters.
Dayumn. That's Francis from Ab Tak Chhapan! I love that guy. Haha 😂
London calling...Irony is not for fish & chips but for the delicious and well presented Indian cuisine😋😋

Stay in India then if you aren’t a traveller !!
@@tapemajooh! we have touch-me-nots here who think the only qualification to travel abroad is to put up with mediocrity coated in innovation
I completely agree this appears fake. 🙏
@tapemaj he is just stating his opinion on the food, not roasting your beloved country

18:46 So happy to see Bihari fish curry reaching London.
👋👋👋 Very Clean Kitchen. Loved it. 😘😘😘
Yes there is quality control and special focus on cleanliness unlike our Indian kitchens
One of the best episodes I have seen till now. So much variety. Kunal Sir had a fountain of flavors in his mouth.
The host failed to mention which fish is actually cooked in Bihari fish curry.
Street food is great, it’s the best👍
