    Great video. I am going to be installing the interior strips, in mine this winter. You didn't have your heat kit on as a mod? We installed a fan in the engine compartment and helps tremendously in the Costa Rican Heat. I am looking at doing the dual battery and adding the Siesmik lighted side mirrors on our unit. We installed a signal light/ horn kit to ours to make it street legal. I will be adding an air horn kit, to give it a different sound as well. I can't wait to go down and use our Honda again. It has been 1.5 years since we have been down.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually no i left a lot of them out. But i'm so used to the pioneer not having the heat issue anymore i forgot about it when i was making my list. I was trying to base my list on the accessories i use the most and in hindsight i should have put it as my first favorite mod. lol. I'm liking the lighted mirrors they come out with too. Been thinking about getting a set myself. You will like the interior lighting its a simple kit. hope you get back down there soon so you can enjoy it. Let me know how the mods go.

    Hi Piney - great video content. I'm in the market for a UTV. One question - are there other options for carrying guns? In my state, guns have to be in a "case" during transport.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Yes there is several other options.
      A lot of people run a koplin style gun boot which is lockable just like a case ,here's a couple options amzn.to/3BkcQzt and amzn.to/3lgG3Gf.. Gun but can also be mounted just about anywhere.

    I had a question on your rear led light and your cab light did you add a relay or just hooked it up straight to your fuse box and rocker switch?

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you, I have a relay on my front lightbar because I use it more than the rear led. I only use the rear when I'm backing up or loading a deer so I have it hooked straight to the fuse box and rocker switch.

    I just got my 2024 1000-5, I’m super excited I’m definitely looking to make those light upgrades. My question, why do you have the front light bar on the hood and not on the roof? But yours looks amazing beautiful.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Congratulations on your purchase. Your gonna love it.
      I have installed lightbars in both locations on many different pioneers and the lower position is much better for me.
      Here is a few reasons why.
      : In the woods when I'm hanging stand or retrieving deer I don't have to worry about low hanging limbs getting caught between the roof and the light bar.
      : In the lower position its less likely to get damaged from a roll over or oncoming limb.
      : also the pioneer cage is narrow at he top, so running a 52 inch lightbar can be tricky with the mounting. If its a roll bar mounting bracket. Then the bracket has to go between the windshield and stick out the side which makes the lightbar hang off both sides.
      : Lower is a cleaner look and a better field of view when night riding.
      I think it just comes down to personal preference and function for the type of riding each person does. Keep me posted on your build and thanks for watching. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for watching

    Great video! Just picked up my new 1000-5 yesterday and trying to figure out where to start. I'm considering starting with the OEM side front hard doors with roll windows, full glass windshield & wiper, glass mid window wits slider and the same top you are showing here. Do you see any issues with this setup. Any advice would be much appreciated!

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you have a good plan. That is the same kit i am wanting to get. I just cant justify the money at this time. I'm more geared towards skid plates. Its hard to beat the Honda tops they are tough and durable. I have heard a person might have to adjust the top side to side just a little to make sure its even on both sides so the top mates to the doors correctly. I will be purchasing one of these kits after a arm guards and skid plates to protect my axles and floorboards. Please keep me posted on your project.

    I have put two different radios in and both work intermittently. These are the same as you show in your dashboard panel. I’ve installed dual batteries, cab lights, backup lights, a winch, and other electrical items, this is to say I understand hook ups, etc. Is there another round radio available that you are aware of or have you experienced anything similar? Everything else I’ve installed works perfectly. I enjoy your channel.

      My radio has been great for Bluetooth but just recently quit working on the auxiliary plug. As far as the radio It has never had great radio reception. If I had it to do over again I would have went with the Bluetooth sound bar. It would have been less hassle and probably sound better. I haven't seen anything in the same shape as the our radios but I will be looking. I have actually thought about ordering a new dash plate with all switch's and get a sound bar but I'm gonna investigate a little deeper and see what I can come up with. What makes the 1000-5 better than the 1000-3? I have a 700 now, but am looking to buy a 1000. I think the frame for the roof would get caught on trees. I am a deer hunter also, and am not opposed to a 1000-5, but they dont seem practical. I appreciate your information!!

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is not much difference in the two besides the rear seats. I think the bed on a 1000-3 is a little bit wider than a 1000-5 due to not having a roll cage in the rear. The main reason I bought the 5 was because of kids or grandkids riding with me.
      Now I have had my pioneer in some pretty rough places retrieving deer. I have never had a problem with the rear cage hanging on anything. If the front will fit the back will clear also. Either one you decide to get will be a awesome machine for hunting. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and keep me posted on your purchase.

      @@pineylife anyway you could explain why the low voltage hurts the clutch’s

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shanewillaims sure. The problem is the dual clutch needs 12 volts to shift properly. The pioneer is only charging heavily when the pioneer is at a higher RPM. when idling it is barely charging. So if there is some accessories that pull the voltage down and your trying to shift there is a possibility that the clutch could not have enough voltage to operate and damage the clutch switch. For example a winch uses a lot of voltage when it is being used. If you was stuck and needed to winch out and your winch is hooked to your main battery and you have to shift while winching out then you could damage your dual clutch. If you have a dual battery set up and all your accessories are hooked up to the secondary battery then that frees up the main battery so it has 12 volts to run your clutch. Its really just insurance for your machine if your gonna run a lot of accessories.

    How does low voltage affect the mechanical clutches

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The clutch switch's that engage and disengage between gears are 12 volt switches. If you have low voltage because of something else your using (winch, lights, radio., etc.). and the battery is under 12 volts your clutch will not work right and could short out. Only time this is a issues is when you might be using a winch and its pulling alot of amps or voltage and you have shift. It could damage your clutch. The dual battery is the best solution. The factory battery can run the pioneer itself and your secondary battery will run all your accessories. Hope this help[s
