Had a buck to this to me twice in a row once at about 10 yards (longbow ~150fps). Ducked the first and ran 40 yards but came right back in from the other way and I aimed way lower the second time but still he dropped. Clipped way up on his shoulder and he ran off only to be seen on camera a month later sporting a new big scar. Amazing animals, smart and tough as nails.

Thise quartering shots are always tricky but you got her done! Nice!

Dang. I've not gotten in the woods yet. I'm going home to VA next week to hunt for a few days in the final week of rifle season. On a good note, I saw a beautiful red fox cross the hay field behind my house here in NC yesterday. Fluffy and healthy! That's good to see.

Should always aim at about where the elbow is on that front leg, the deer always duck from the sound of the bow that would've been a good hit if he didn't aim so high

I saw an edit out of this, and a bunch of people were saying that deer are supernatural because he doged a bullet or some like that

Now, if the crossbow wasn’t propped on something in the hide. The sound wouldn’t have reverberated through what it was touching at the time. Sounds like it was resting on the window ledge of the hide. So the direct contact with the wood amplified the sound. Don’t believe me. Test it out yourself. If the crossbow is touching something hard. The sound is ten times louder. Holding it away from anything solid will stop the sound from amplifying.

I love LBL! Shot my first deer there! 1982 Youth Hunt. At the Buffaloe Fields. Can't remember what section it was but there were Buffs in the field lol I remember the fences were like 12 ' high and that Doe jumped it like nothing! Dad and I were sitting close to a ditch that was worn out, with deer sign crawling under that fence. She jumped it though. Funny thing is, she crawled under that fence after the shot! With Mom's .243 to boot!!!! Dad hated that rifle...still does! Oh, the stories it could tell 🤣🤣

CONGRATULATIONS Jamie, great shot with the camera and gun, nothing beats muzzleloaders. I’m a combat veteran and I stopped using high powered rifles after coming home, I strictly use crossbow and muzzleloaders all season. Love your channel.
