So grateful to hear from you. I know we don’t “know “ you but we get so very invested in your family especially after watching you from the beginning. My prayers go out to all of you and so glad all are safe.
I love your idea to let them do it their way! Josiah has been doing all this a long time, and Don't need Anyone telling him he is doing it wrong! His way might not be anyone else's way, but it is Josiah's way!!
Exactly. Just like Jonah tells his dad if he thinks he’s doing it wrong or that he, Jonah, has a better way. Josiah feels that too. He s proven to be very capable. Split them up on the chores/rotate them and if THEY decide to work together it ll be their choice and to their advantage. They are just a step away from being men.
I believe both boys are capable of doing things on their own. Have you taken them aside for an outing and just ask them - what is the best part of your day… what is the worst part of your day. , and Why. Start a conversation with no judgement…listen and acknowledge how they feel… then ask have you thought about…
Josiah seems so sad. Maybe he just doesn’t like the attention that he’s receiving in regard to his and Jonah’s relationship. I’m afraid Josiah may leave the farm just to get some relief and find his own happiness out from under Jonah’s control. I pray they can become “partners” for what is best for the farm, but that’s going to require respect for each other, instead of “I’m older and can tell you what to do.” Prayers as they navigate this journey.
There is no legacy here. This is not a working farm. There is nothing to offer them boys. He is a u-tuber and I might say a dam good one. But the truth is none of them boys are going to stay.
Do you know about Ryan Hall's Channel? He is the largest weather channel om youtube. Several days before the hurricane he started saying the Asheville area was going to be the worst part of the hurricane. He was predicting the massive floods and large loss of life. I just keep wishing more people would have got the word how bad this was going to be. He was describing it pretty well and I started worrying about you , the Hollars and Sow the land. I,m glad you and your new house are safe. Heads up for storm later in the week.
Yes same here. I'm in Canada and follow Ryan Hall and have learned to watch an area of his predicted weather as it's showing a pattern of how I'm affected further up in Ontario as I border Michigan. He's just mentioned another storm that's coming in and it appears that it is going to have the potential to be similar to Helene and is predicted to take a very similar path 😢
glad to see you are all safe!....when it comes to Jonah and Josiah......both are proven leaders, so when put together they butt heads.....they each need to be in charge of tasks......they work better that way
Hormones, they both need their own room at the moment. Can the older boy move down stairs? There seems to be an extra area where you can put a bed. 😊 Glad to see everyone safe and no major damage except for the loss of the turkeys.
Grateful to our, merciful Lord y'all are all safe. Been bathing your family in prayer. Big hugs, support, encouragement and love to each of you from Mississippi.
Josiah reminds me a lot of your father for some reason. He’s a hard worker. You have wonderful children! Happy you and your family are alive and well.❤
The quiet ones are deep thinkers and most of the time forward action after thought! You are raising strong personalities. Dad the boys are becoming young bulls and each has mixed emotions at times. Both need too have their work space and living space from time too time.
Love and prayers to the Rhodes family and farm after such a devastating hurricane event . We love watching and would come help with clean up and restoration in any way possible. We’re so glad you all are okay.❤❤❤
I’ve been praying 🙏🏼. I have family in NE NC. But I knew yall were in western NC. Sending prayers to all who have lost loved ones, who are missing, businesses and farms lost. ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼. Thanks for updating us Justine
Me and my husband have been worried about yall and praying for yall and so glad to see yall are physically okay, but im sorry for the damage, loss of animals, etc. RIP the turkeys and the bees. Sending our love. ❤
Thank God you are all okay!! So sorry for all of the damages y'all sustained. Prayers being sent for your family, farm and everyone affected by Helene.
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. First of all I’m so glad you’re all OK and I’m sure glad the home you waited a year and a half for is OK as well. The bridge going out makes me the saddest. That’s the bridge y’all go across to go to grandma in big daddy‘s house. Be careful, letting Jonah always pick. Maybe he’s picking the easy sit down jobs and Josiah is doing the walk around stay on your feet jobs. I do predict Josiah will be the one to leave the farm. He does not look like he enjoys any of it, which is OK. I hope you always leave it open for them to choose their own paths.
I agree with you 100%. It's obvious that the one who will probably not follow in Justin's footsteps will be Josiah. He seems not interested in farm life and does his chores begrudgingly as his duty to the farm. When he's 18 he will probably seek out another job that suits him better and brings him joy. I am so glad all of you are safe and whatever damage to the farm can be repaired in a timely manner.
Praying for yall and your family and neighbors too. As you come out of this, please teach us what you learn about things we can do to be better prepared for disasters.
When you said the storm washed away your bees, I first thought you said your beef (cattle), and I got so upset thinking how they must have suffered. At the same time I was upset about livestock, human lives were lost. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May all those who suffered and died in this horrible storm rest in peace. And thanks for taking care of the Rhodes family.
Glad you're all safe. It's good to see your children and we are all impressed with your parenting and childrens positive progression through thick and thin. ❤
Oh my goodness, I'm overjoyed to see you Justin. I've been beside myself with worry for your family. I may not know you, in person, but I've been invested in you and your beautiful farm and family for many many yrs now. After watching all, that's gone on down there in recent days and hearing that you had lost quite a bit, but that your family was okay, was a relief beyond words for me. Infrastructure and animals can be replaced, people can not. I will continue to pray 🙏 for your entire family and everyone effected by this absolutely horrible weather event. Prayers were answered by the Lord keeping your loved ones safe in your newly rebuilt home. 🙏 Many many Blessings to you all, Laurel
So happy to finally hear that you folks are ok. My wife has been watching ya'll for a period now and I know she was relieved. Still keeping everyone in our thoughts and prayers and in case you haven't heard or gotten any news, Soon StarLink is coming your way. Hopefully, that'll help with Communication and others will be somewhat reunited with family members. Just hang in there and try to remain calm and keep your wits about yourself. May God Bless each of ya.
Been praying for you all. Glad people and home are safe. So sorry you lost your Turkeys and Bees. Hope the larger animals are good. Your boys are looking soooo grown up!
So glad to hear that the Rhodes and others on the farm are okay. Terrible storm damage all around me as well in E TN. Been praying for you and for your area as well as the Newport TN area. Sorry to hear about your turkeys.
So thankful y’all are okay!🥰🙏 I do believe when these boys look back on these videos(when they’re older),hopefully they will hear it in Papa’s voice…This worries him, that they aren’t getting along, and Josiah is just a normal 15 year old, that has an older brother. God Bless this family, they’re truly ALL very hard working. Blessings from TN❤
So glad you are all ok, and it didn't touch the house after you just moved in after the updates. Sad that you lost your Bees and Turkeys though. You are so lucky that you have your own water supply. Sending Love and Prayers to all affected by the Hurricane for a swift recovery. Also sending Love and Prayers to Rebekah's Mum with what she is going through.
Very thankful to have head from you, we have been quite concerned. Still praying for the Lord to strengthen you men in rixing up mess that Helene brought to your property, & for replanting your fall veggees.
Seeing the sneak peak of the storage container all the way over in the creek gives an idea of how much water came through the holler! 😮 I am so glad to see that little clip of you and Henry. I will continue praying for all the families, homesteaders, and businesses in Western NC.
I’m so glad you folks are okay. I checked a few times after the storm to see if you were okay. I’m in Pinellas county Florida and a lot of people here got hit hard, some lost everything. We were so fortunate at our house.
Your farm, even after this storm, looks soooo beautiful (the shot which starts about 5:10 is just amazing). Sorry to hear you lost some animals, but grateful y'all are ok. And, just want to say, it's been delightful watching you raise these young boys into responsible young men; Next, Gideon and Henry. And, Lily is an amazing young lady now. God bless!
I’ve been worried for you all. Yesterday I watched an update on The Modern Yoeman channel and in the comments was that “Justin and Rebecca” had hurricane damage but everybody was okay, what a relief. Seems that we have more than usual to pray about. Thankfully God does answer prayers. ❤ Love you guys ❤
So happy to hear everyone is safe at the Rhodes farm, prayers go out to all those who lost loved ones & property due to Hurricane, my near miss was 70 miles away from eye. There is another one on the way.
You have a natural spring and it still filters water in bad times. Saw art and bri talking about water. Hear road is out but if there is enough uninterrupted rope to cross any washes or obstructions and some people work together in a chain. Make a Trolly for the rope to haul water across and supply water. The spring will be flowing well. Probably better than any other water. It would be a delight to see Jonah take Gideon 1 day a week for a month. Jonah could still Boss. He’s a natural leader. Josiah clearly doesn’t need bossing .
I’m in western Texas, I’ve been watching the hurricane and where it was going. I’ve been concerned with the health and safety of you and your family. It said that mountain areas were going to get a lot of rain. I’m glad that you are safe and sound. Sorry about loosing the Turkeys.
I haven’t been in the homesteading world for a couple of years and when this horrible event happened after friends and family, I kept wondering about you all! I knew you guys would make an update as soon as you all could. I am so glad you are all well! Shame of the loss of most of the turkeys but hopefully some wild animals benefitted from the remains.
Josiah looks so much like Rebecca. ❤ We currently have three teenagers at home (the 4th one is in college), and they're such a huge help to us. Even just having them do things like carrying groceries and moving furniture for me really saves my back. When they were little, it was a whole circus doing chores and things with them. 😂 It's surreal when your kids get old enough to drive you places too.
I homeschooled mine. All that togetherness did at times grate. You’re providing space and that’s awesome! Your children are so very capable! Great leaders! But so many leaders in the same space is a challenge. No doubt you will navigate this well.
I'd be seriously considering using your heavy machinery and putting in berms around the lower farm in particular. Get grass seed in and trees to hold it together with overflows low to the creek to prevent flooding inside, and the berms from flooding from the creek to the house. They'll only keep getting worse as the years get on and the best day to do it was yesterday.
I'm so thankful that you are all alright! It breaks my heart that you had so much damage to your beautiful farm. If I was able, I'd be down there to help you out. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. ❤
Glad y’all are ok, if you have any bad laps and downed tree issues I’m happy to help and have the experience to get it done safely. Y’all are only two hours from me, I’ll be heading to the mountain this weekend to help clear any roads and drives I find,‘y’all have taught us a lot and the very least I could do is to come lend a helping hand, if your good though right on ✊🏽you will find my email on our channel, God bless
Thankful for hearing of your safety. Josiah is my favorite. He definitely is his own person. His direct replies remind me of the old men (farmers) I grew up around in northern New Hampshire/Vermont area. Salt of the Earth people.
I can't believe people are always complaining about your farm...it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! You guys can be so proud of yourselves! What an inspiration...just look at that life! First class farming👌...the negative people are just bitter in general!
so happy you are all ok. I have been waiting to see if you all were ok... Praying for all that got hit by storm. I live in Gulf Coast area and have gone thru many horrible storms. Katrina for example. Love and prayers for all.
Thank you for the update. So grateful your family is ok.. I am deeply sorry for your loss's and the destruction to your property.. And the fear that you all must have gone thru during the storm.
Praise God you're all okay. You have been in so many prayers... thank you for updating. Continued prayers for your community. It's going to be long and hard but we know the community is strong. ❤
I have been so worried about you guys. I am glad you made it through without too much damage. Hopefully the high tunnel can be repaired. I am glad you have cellular service. Praying for your continued safety. ❤
So grateful to hear from you. I know we don’t “know “ you but we get so very invested in your family especially after watching you from the beginning. My prayers go out to all of you and so glad all are safe.
So sorry for your loss of your bees and turkeys, grateful your family and beautiful home survived. 🙏
Thank you for letting us know you're safe. I've been concerned and checking for updates. Stay well.

You are right - he's quiet but a very hard worker. And consistent. He just keeps working! We're watching, Josiah!❤
It seems your boys don’t appreciate parent hovering. Josiah is so special
Joshiah is my hero, just being himself.
Very thankful you are okay, and sorry for your losses. Truly appreciate the update.
Been praying you guys were OK! ❤
So glad you and family are OK. Thank God.

No,… he’s reverent. It’s not a common gift of today’s modern world.
Thank you God that you all are safe and protected. Thank you Jesus 🙏🏾💕💕🙏🏾
I don't know if Josiah is sad, but he definitely has a heavy heart about something.
@@jbelichgrandma ‘s sickness. Not easy to watch a love one…

Ryan called it. I thought the same thing about later this week again.
Good to know! I am on the coast, so I will be sure to check him out.

I’m Canadian and watch Ryan because his weather is so accurate, even for my area.
Yes we watch him every time there is trouble brewing he is number 0ne in our book.
glad to see you are all safe!....when it comes to Jonah and Josiah......both are proven leaders, so when put together they butt heads.....they each need to be in charge of tasks......they work better that way
It’s seems like they both have such different energy that they are bound to butt heads but there is so much love, they will work things out ❤
Great idea. Give them jurisdiction zones. One major task that they are in charge of overseeing.
So glad to hear from you.
We have been praying for you guys. So glad you all are ok

Thanks for checking in Justin. So happy you guys are ok and came through at least somewhat intact.
Grateful to our, merciful Lord y'all are all safe. Been bathing your family in prayer. Big hugs, support, encouragement and love to each of you from Mississippi.
😢 heartbreaking to see your farm animals go missing and died from hurricane damage and hope you are safe and well

So glad to hear that the Rhodes and others on the farm are okay. Terrible storm damage all around me as well in E TN. Been praying for you and for your area as well as the Newport TN area. Sorry to hear about your turkeys.
The teens are all seeking to find their place in the world. The sibling struggle is real. Praying that each of them find their passion.
So thankful y’all are okay!🥰🙏 I do believe when these boys look back on these videos(when they’re older),hopefully they will hear it in Papa’s voice…This worries him, that they aren’t getting along, and Josiah is just a normal 15 year old, that has an older brother.

Josiah has always stepped up when family needs him. Good idea to let him make more decisions. ❤

Also sending Love and Prayers to Rebekah's Mum with what she is going through.
Its their age and interest . They each need,to find their own space . I am surprised that big house they don't have their own rooms .
Once girls come along and one or both move into their own spaces it will be fine.
Very thankful to have head from you, we have been quite concerned. Still praying for the Lord to strengthen you men in rixing up mess that Helene brought to your property, & for replanting your fall veggees.
Glad to see your face since this catastrophe, brother. I’m so sorry that this happened, but I’m grateful for the safety of your entire family.
Praying for all Asheville is gone

Thankful for your safety
The narrated chores and farm life is what I come in here for. Do not change anything
So, so glad you and all those babies are good. Hang in there!
Your farm, even after this storm, looks soooo beautiful (the shot which starts about 5:10 is just amazing). Sorry to hear you lost some animals, but grateful y'all are ok. I hope you ok Justin ❤ your family. We are grateful to still be here.

So glad y’all are ok. We’re praying for your family and all those affected by this storm!

I have been so worried about you guys. I am glad you made it through without too much damage. Hopefully the high tunnel can be repaired. I am glad you have cellular service. Praying for your continued safety. ❤
