I love how they wrote his life, it was kind of a slap in the face of everyone who made fun of him, like "whos laughing now?" he is the one having a great time and a great life.
Jerry is simply a better person than all the rest of them. He's positive. He's kind. He's happy. They can't understand Jerry's situation because misery loves company, they're jealous, and maybe a little narcissistic.
Garry Gergich • Best friend was Donna • His wife is Swedish levels of 10/10 attractive • Wonderful family • Unwavering positivity • Re-elected to mayor like 30 times • Lived 100 years • Had the Patience of Father Time himself • Apparently had a distractingly large dong
Theory: Jerry used to look like Chris and Gail fell in love so when he got big she didn’t care what he looked like cuz she was happy and he treats her good.
@@isaac2990 I've met dudes like him and if you lol very closely you can tell they were studs when they were younger. In fact I had a friend about 65 who was about 6'3" probably like 6'5" in his younger days and while he was fat you could see that he was very athletic because of his shoulder and back width. He kind of looked like a strong man competitor.
My theory is that he used to look like (and be as thin as) Chris... with his MASSIVE "friend", and Gale kept making him gain weight to keep other women (and men, hence the Tom phone call) away from him as much as possible... and to make his member just a tad "easier to manage" in the bedroom.
@maggie jane Maybe she's a negative energy Vampire? Larry spends all day at work getting bullied, Terry comes home depressed, Gale sucks up all the negativity and Barry is left with nothing but positivity. Of course Barry and Gale's kids inherited the curse too. Which is why Millicent had to break things off with the overly positive Chris.
I really like that theory. Gale is a goddess or a fairy who saw Jerry's kind heartedness and decided to make his life better by taking on a human form and becoming his wife.
@@stevenwallace7002 Maybe Pawnee has a curse and that's why Eagleton is so much better XD PD:I originally wrote "by comparison", but then i instantly realized Eagleton is a Utopia XD

I mean cults typically trick you into accepting something you normally wouldnt. There's worse things to be tricked into than unconditional love and peace.
@@BeaverChainsaw I was honestly expecting the family to be secretly a mess, or this being a Green Card marriage or something. But nope, it's just a genuinely happy and loving family
None of the Gerrgich women aged. The only way to tell the difference between his daughters and his granddaughters was the age of the men standing next to them.
In a show filled with generally good and likeable people - not perfect by any means - I loved both how the bullying of Gerry was a constant reminder of the dangers of group behaviour, and I loved, even more, how Gerry was basically impervious to it. Gerry is a person of true confidence, someone who is so confident in themself that they can allow others to see them as weak
Finally, someone who understood the subtle meaning of that cringy and awkward running gag! And it also made Donna's decision to be a friend rather than jump on the bandwagon because of her work environment's hive mind especially touching and poginant.
True. Allowing others to see you as weak is a good strategy in many situations. And because most people are too afraid to even consider it, most people don't see it coming. Garry was a lot more clever than it seemed.
I like the subtle part about Leslie almost dropping a coffee cup at his house, something usually associated with Jerry. This, along with scenes where Jerry has produced some truly talented art at the workplace before, imply that Jerry isn't actually a klutz by nature, but perhaps rather he feels psyched out at work because of all the mistreatment he gets and is thus more likely to slip up. At his home, this is gone, so he's coordinated and in control, whilst Leslie feels off her game in that setting. It paints this idea Jerry was always a great, talented guy, but how much bad influences can hold someone back.
3:30 Jerry worked at the parks department for 40 years and only had 4 pages worth of good memories in all that time, but still never held it against his colleagues and had an amazing home life. We should all aspire to be like Jerry.
Bro already had the perfect life. That is probably the reason why he did not cared about any of the abuse in his working environment. They can make fun of him all they want but he's lived better life than any other in their office so who cares?
2:53 It takes a LOT to top Leslie's peppy social enthusiasm. The Gerchiches just out-Leslie-Knoped Leslie Knope. "...Is this how my coworkers feel around me...?"
"There's no logical explanation" There is. Gale is a good person who ignores looks for personality, and loves Jerry for who he is... . . That, and he's rearranging her insides with that massive weapon he's brandishing.
It's funny, how everyone is so surprised at Jerry having a good life, beautiful wife and daughters. He's very a talented artist, pianist, an inventor, and in the episode anniversaries, we see how amazing he is at being romantic and a good dancer. Also if you've seen a picture of him when he was young, he was pretty cute.
Remember that one episode when Chris said that the superhuman who will be able live for more that a hundred years was already born and he thought it was him. Yeah... I think that person is Gale
It wasn't 100, I forget the number but it was higher, maybe 200? There have been numerous documented instances of people living to over 100, for decades at least, if not centuries, I don't think it's even very rare at this point.
He was one of the low key best characters in the show, everyone at work messed with him but his family and artistry was unmatched. It’s unreal how it felt like he just bumbled in life until his kids were grown and then bam, successful politician once his kids didn’t need raising and nurturing any further.
I know this is about garry but all I can think about is the fact that if you run the math in order to star in 11000 adult films in 2 years Brandi Max would need to produce 15 videos a day with no holidays
4:20 is a solid example of what I never understood about Gary’s character. Leslie is so openly stunned by how a man, in the company of people who outward show him love and kindness, can be calm and confident even though he’s an anxious mess in the company of people who treat him with open contempt. How is that such a head scratcher for a woman who generally is great at seeing what her coworkers need?🤨
I actually love that in a story like this, where it's all about giving your life to your job and making your work your purpose, they allowed Jerry's story to be the beauty of normalcy, taking pleasure in the simplest things and working a job not because you love it, but because it allows you to do the things you love which for him was provide a wonderful life for his family. It instantly made Jerry one of my favorites because his life is the one most people really want to live.
I must say, I never understood why the rest of Parks and rec stuff is so mean to Jerry. He's kind, jolly fella who's actually loves his wife and daughters and treats them with respect and dignity. There so many other people that are less successful than him in the office, and even characters whom are ''nice'' are right a holes to him. I guess its meant to be funny? But honestly it comes of as forced, lame and cringy.
I don't remember who said this but Jerry didn't care about getting bullied because he knew the department was always happier because they had someone to relieve their stress on. He took one for the team because he was already happy with an amazing family and a job that took care of his family. It was his way of keeping people happy.

Jerry is simply a better person than all the rest of them. He's positive. He's kind. He's happy. They can't understand Jerry's situation because misery loves company, they're jealous, and maybe a little narcissistic.
Garry Gergich
• Best friend was Donna
• His wife is Swedish levels of 10/10 attractive
• Wonderful family
• Unwavering positivity
• Re-elected to mayor like 30 times
• Lived 100 years
• Had the Patience of Father Time himself
• Apparently had a distractingly large dong
Don’t you mean 40/10?
@@MrGlock509 50/10
@@Black-Star 60/10
Didn't check him for mumps sized dong
Dont forget the respect of Ron, I mean with how much of clutz he was at work Ron still seemingly let him come along
Theory: Jerry used to look like Chris and Gail fell in love so when he got big she didn’t care what he looked like cuz she was happy and he treats her good.
Well Jerry did say he used to look like Chris before having kids, so I think your theory is valid
Plus, after that she knew what he brought...
Garry*
Who would t want to marry Jerry he’s a kind and happy guy and treats his family nice, not to mention he is PACKIN
We all know why. I can think of 2 reasons but I think we all know why.
@@sabrinarosario6499 not really.
@@sabrinarosario6499 nah
His name is actually Gary 🤣🤣
That's funny, bunny.
Imagine being married to someone as kind and loving as Gary 🥺
He is too adorable for words. Some day I want to give Garry a big giant hug for bringing me so much happiness.
My theory is that Gale is a goddess, so she doesn’t age.
Well that's one mystery solved
@maggie jane Maybe she's a negative energy Vampire?
Larry spends all day at work getting bullied, Terry comes home depressed, Gale sucks up all the negativity and Barry is left with nothing but positivity.
Of course Barry and Gale's kids inherited the curse too. Which is why Millicent had to break things off with the overly positive Chris.
yep definitely a goddess or an angel sent for the kindest man in that world.
@@thelewisridout dude did you just think of that? That’s fantastic and now canonical in my opinion
I really like that theory. Gale is a goddess or a fairy who saw Jerry's kind heartedness and decided to make his life better by taking on a human form and becoming his wife.
Gary is my favorite character in parks and recreations, he is so humble, joyful and a blissful soul.
He is my 2nd fav by far
I love how ben just doesn’t get jerry having a hot wife and how pawnee loves lil sebastain
Im with Ben on both things
@@stevenwallace7002 Maybe Pawnee has a curse and that's why Eagleton is so much better XD PD:I originally wrote "by comparison", but then i instantly realized Eagleton is a Utopia XD
@@dimitrivavoulis2184 just another twist that worked
@@dimitrivavoulis2184 Eagleton may be a Utopia, but the people are still snobby as all hell. The Architect that helped Ben and Leslie was definitely one of the better Eagletonians, at least until the Merger allowed Pawnee and Eagleton to get along... Eventually.
SAME
I lost it when he gracefully caught a mug at his house and Leslie was absolutely flabbergasted
Well given Jerry's personality and "medical condition" I can think it's completely justifiable that his wife is always so happy and positive
I don’t blame Ben for being so perturbed, their cult-like happiness is kinda creepy. Like, wholesomely creepy.
Sort of like how Morticia and Gomez Adams love each other too much right?!
I mean cults typically trick you into accepting something you normally wouldnt. There's worse things to be tricked into than unconditional love and peace.
its like those horror tropes where there is that unnaturally happy nuclear family that you cant just help but feel like something weird is going on.
@@BeaverChainsaw I was honestly expecting the family to be secretly a mess, or this being a Green Card marriage or something. But nope, it's just a genuinely happy and loving family
Only people who are naturally negative and/or have kinda shitty lives think that way.
Typical confession through projection.
i like how gayle hasnt aged even when garry was 100 yrs old
None of the Gerrgich women aged. The only way to tell the difference between his daughters and his granddaughters was the age of the men standing next to them.
The actress who plays her is close to 70, and if you look up pictures of her, she actually wears make up to make her seem older
Clearly Gayle is the earthly incarnation of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, meaning she is immortal
@@andrewsutherland133 She was closer to 60 when this was filmed though
I'd imagine it's pretty easy to be self confident when you're packin' like Gerry
Not one of them was good or likeable except for Chris who I never saw bullying Gary, and Ann was semi ok
I’ll never understand why they made fun of jerry. He is so sweet and deserves the world. ❤️
He's a klutz in the office
Those are exactly the kind of people north American culture picks on
They made fun of him bc he farted and split his pants open alot lol
@@TheBeanEnthusiast so?

Either that or she's bad at math(s).

That’s possible to catch 15 bodies a day
On average. Assuming sick days and other engagements, she probably did *at least* double that some of those days, if not most of them.
While serving as president of the city council. I'm impressed with her energy.
I love how happy Jerry is, the fact that he’s the happiest person in the show is guck heartwarming
7:09 - the way Jerry says "I'm flying" always gets me. So much pure happiness, I love it.
So glad the writers put him in the happiest family life out of everyone. It was said they felt guilty about Jerry constantly being the butt of jokes.
I love the fact that he's actually better at scrap-booking than Leslie.
fun fact: in real life gayle is 8 years older than jerry
😲
Omg, I checked. You’re right... 🤯
Wow!
what ?
You said what now?

2:53 It takes a LOT to top Leslie's peppy social enthusiasm. The Gerchiches just out-Leslie-Knoped Leslie Knope. "...Is this how my coworkers feel around me...?"
"There's no logical explanation"
There is. Gale is a good person who ignores looks for personality, and loves Jerry for who he is...

That, and he's rearranging her insides with that massive weapon he's brandishing.
EN GARDE...?
i am still calling the scp-foundation
Well, Donna and Garry are the cutest friends ever and I am definitely not crying right now because this entire video was so sweet!
Donna is a real friend. I'm glad at least one person had his back at work. She was the kindest overall anyway.
Jerry is a treasure. He never got mad at anyone for anything cause he knew at the end of the day he had a perfect life
I love how Ben is so obsessed about the whole Jerry/Gale situation while everybody else is just like ''yeah its weird, but whatever''
Remember that one episode when Chris said that the superhuman who will be able live for more that a hundred years was already born and he thought it was him. Yeah... I think that person is Gale
Always liked the fact that they didn't even bother to age Christie Brinkley into the future the way they did with the rest of the cast.
It wasn't 100, I forget the number but it was higher, maybe 200?
There have been numerous documented instances of people living to over 100, for decades at least, if not centuries, I don't think it's even very rare at this point.
Donna is the best friend that Gary needed.
Everyone mentioning dr. Harris, but i also remember jerry saying that he used to look like chris when he was younger lmao
9:16 can we just talk about how happy he looks here? They gave him such an amazing send off.
Jerry being chosen as Mayor in front of April was so satisfying considering how she was usually the main one making fun of him
I really like how Donna enjoys and embraces Jerry
I must say, it makes me happy seeing Gary/Larry/Terry/Jerry happy.
He was one of the low key best characters in the show, everyone at work messed with him but his family and artistry was unmatched. It’s unreal how it felt like he just bumbled in life until his kids were grown and then bam, successful politician once his kids didn’t need raising and nurturing any further.
1:55 oh Chris, according to the doctor there is a very logical explanation.
Having Gary’s end be so happy and Donna becoming so kind to him, really is sweet and makes me cry.
Ben looking at the camera never gets old.
Gary is the most heartwarming character on TV
I know this is about garry but all I can think about is the fact that if you run the math in order to star in 11000 adult films in 2 years Brandi Max would need to produce 15 videos a day with no holidays
And by an estimation that she does it in one take of 40 min, that would take 10 hours of non-stop ACTION
*Brandi Maxxx
The stamina required would be on par with an Olympic athlete.
@@VaishnavMen0n This was the subject of a short story by chuck palahniuk (the dude who wrote fight club) and it scarred me for life.
I love the shot at 6:22 of Ron standing in front of a chilled bottle of champagne holding an open flask
Honestly the most wholesome character. What a man.
Loved to see Jerry and Donna’s friendship, it’s so unexpected and sweet. ❤❤❤
Love the wink Donna gives him when they are shouting out “Gary”
I actually love that in a story like this, where it's all about giving your life to your job and making your work your purpose, they allowed Jerry's story to be the beauty of normalcy, taking pleasure in the simplest things and working a job not because you love it, but because it allows you to do the things you love which for him was provide a wonderful life for his family. It instantly made Jerry one of my favorites because his life is the one most people really want to live.
Jerry/Larry/Terry/Barry/Garry is one of the most wholesome characters on any tv show. I’m glad he got to live such a perfect life
There should have been an entire episode dedicated to Ben's various theories about Gayle!
Lol I normally overlook Anne but love her little head bobbing at 1:40 for the Christmas song too cute
I have the "Eggs, Bacon, & Toast" song playing my head everytime I go our for breakfast..;)
Jerry reminds me of my old mormon neighbors. Super nice with a picturesque family. Shout out to Tony in Lancaster, CA!
I agree it just seems weird and forced, they’re all making fun of a sweet old man
they just tried to make a tobby number 2 but failed
I think it's because they were all jealous of Garry's perfect life, but there would be times where they showed that they actually care for him
I don't remember who said this but Jerry didn't care about getting bullied because he knew the department was always happier because they had someone to relieve their stress on. He took one for the team because he was already happy with an amazing family and a job that took care of his family. It was his way of keeping people happy.
thats the joke. there’s bo point
The Christmas episode is perfect. Ben being so confused, Andy, April and Tom being locked out, the perfection of Gale and their daughters 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love how invested Ben is in why Gail is with Jerry
Me too
Jerry sees the good in everything and has the type of optimism that I can only strive to have… Jerry Gergich is a National treasure.
4:29 I know it’s a comedy show, but he’s absolutely right. Work life balance is something we sometimes forget.
