You've done a banger job on your Yamato, it looks great! I'm about to have mine (premium edition) delivered any day now so I can't wait to start.
As for video ideas, I think some sort of tier/ranking list would be pretty interesting. It could be about any criteria regarding the ships like: quality of the base kit, most fun/interesting, difficulty, best looking, etc. Seeing how you score them sounds like fun and I don't think I've seen anyone make a tier list on ship models on TH-cam before either so it being different has some appeal in that regard too.
It could even be about your experience with modelling in general. Like the pros and cons of each companies kits that you've worked with. What you would consider said company's highlight/trade mark, etc.

I seem to remember this being from around 1985/86 I believe so the molding was great back then but not so much now.

Hi David! Beautiful build indeed, and interesting to hear your thoughts on the kit. Got this one yesterday as a birthday gift from my wife, so I intend to build it in the near future.
I understand newer versions are better in detail, but for this one (78030), which upgrade set/sets would you recommend? I would like to lift the model without going all in on 50 different pe sets. For me, railings, cranes and radar are a must.
Also, what colours did you use? Looks really good.
Thanks for sharing a great build!
    Regards,
    Mats

It is a good kit, the 78030 is the most recent Yamato kit from Tamiya. It is just not the most detailed, that is the 78025.
I built this kit with the Lion Roar RS3501 super detail kit, I tend to go for the most detailed detail kit that I can find. I can't really comment on other detail kits for this model because I have not used them. Just be sure to buy a detail kit that is designed for the specific model that you are building, in this case Tamiya 78030.
Tamiya XF-75 IJN Gray (Kure Arsenal) is the correct colour for this ship. This is indicated in the instructions.

Are your referring to the cable spools or the rigging?
