Glad you get to join the zoo-game family :-) Having come from planco, the two main things that struck me initially was the quality of the natural textures on pieces (variety of wood, etc) and the difference in the axis handling of multi pieces. I’m curious if there is a difference on console? Enjoy!

I would've used this in my homeschooling curriculum or just a fun, but educational game for my kids to enjoy. Loved the commentary. I am not the sort of person who pre-orders games I've never played before, but I pre-ordered the ULTIMATE edition for this game because I have been so impressed with JWE2 that I feel pretty confident this game will surpass all my expectations. I cannot wait to play this game (I was burning the midnight oil while listening to this review trying to get my work for the next few days done early so I could play the game all day tomorrow! haha)

When it comes to zebras, although it is the true that zebras are black with white stripes, the Grevy's zebra on the other hand is white with black stripes.

Complexity Meter will be a smaller "problem" next to planetcoaster, just because we will use a lot more nature objects.... We know trees wont use much of the %

if im being 100% honest they are maybe slightly harder than planet coaster BUT you do get used to them overtime - or you can always play with a mouse and keyboard
I need help with the game. I played it for several hours today, built a normal sized zoo, open the zoo and suddenly, even only with like 200 guests, my game is not playable anymore because of the lags. Only when I have guests in my zoo, it‘s extremely laggy. I play on xbox series x, does anyone know how to fix this?😢
@@IronMatty there isn't any if there is it's low budget Indy games pc only but a high budget console game where you can play as any animal online, habitats breeding growing learning etc would be awesome There is a game called Hunted claiming it's coming soon to console which is that but seems Indy and low budget kinda thing I don't know why no one has made this game yet
@IronMatty yes and no. I'm absolutely loving the game, for sure. But I got blindsided in my personal life, and it kind of took away a solid portion of my joy from playing the game.

yes unfortunetly it is PS5 and series X/S only, the game is way way too demanding for the old gen console, even the new gen consoles are struggling with it at times
I personally love this edition. I hate playing games on pc, and I loved this game. So I was super keen to find out it was coming to PS5. So worth the wait. I don't care what anyone says. I love it.

The graphic lag is awful. The busy areas and habitsts lag so much if the game is now paused.. I hope they fix it soon, its taking a lot of enjoyment out once Ive gotten the zoo going ☹️
its a known issue with frontier and they are working on fixing it asap, advice for now is to save at least once an hour, close the zoo and re-open it and it should stabilise it

yes, there are 16 DLC packs upcoming, unless you choose to buy the ultimate edition at the start and then you will get every DLC as soon as they release

thats purely dependant upon what ur used to, if u play a lot of pc gaming then i imagine a M&K will feel quite easy, for me personally i cant get used to it and prefer controller
I think it’s bad since they didn’t even try to get it on ps4. They just like: alright ps5 newest let’s only get it on that and make it extra expensive! Like they could’ve just toned down the graphics for the ps4 version. I mean I play games way higher quality and realism. (Like monster hunter world)

@@thegamingpanda5134 i feel your pain. But did you know that the pc version of Planet Coaster runs on a different engine then on the console versions. Probably to cut costs or the profit will be too low if they also assign people to go over the ps4 game code for planet zoo. At the 16:00 sec mark, they are already having problems on current gen haha. I have a hunch that the animal AI is too costly for ps4
@@BobWobWobbob then why does monster hunter worlds insane monster AI work (for the big part mostly) perfect? I mean those fights in the game have to go on for atleast 50 minutes max. That AI has to keep up with the amount of damage it takes and also the time and terrain. It’s just… annoying that trying to get something you want is so hard. My dream is own a zoo and to know this game makes me do that is amazing. Yet it so hard just to even get your hands on a game :(
@@thegamingpanda5134 its all very complicated. Lets say in Monster Hunter you have 4 enemies on screen and you battle them for 30 minutes.. the game still only has to worry about those 4 AI sets. A simulation game has to worry about way moooore AI eventho those AI’s are less smart… the game has to calculate eveything. Plus the game has to render your complex buildings. Planet Zoo is possible to run on Ps4, if they tweak some settings. But the payoff is probably not worth it. :(
it can seem daunting but dont let it dishearten you. The payoff is worth it at the end dont worry. make sure to do the campaign at the start as that will really ease you in slowly
Whilst Planet Coaster consumed my free time so much, that grounds for divorce may have been warranted .. I think I'm a minority of that community, in not getting any buzz for Planet Zoo. I'll be interested to see these 'Franchise Mode Videos' and see if that captures me at all, but probably a game I'll happily experience via TH-cam more so than play myself 🤷♂️
I gotta say I love the game but I was so disappointed and angry to just find out that it's only coming to PlayStation 5 A great 120 bucks wasted this month thanks frontier for nothing
Seeing that even on PS5 you get performance issue, you’d be glad it doesn’t release for old gen. You might not even be able to run a small size zoo at lowest settings. And dude PS5 is now entering 4th year, it’s like asking developers to release FF15 for both the PS4 plus PS3. Get on with it..
i can understand your frustration but even a ps5 is struggling to run it at times, its an extremely demanding game! I do recommend upgrading though, not just for zoo but so many amazing ps5 games now!

wow this was a long comment, i think its a case of building smarter not more. You dont need 100,000 pieces to make a mega zoo, planet coaster proved that - some of the best parks ive ever seen created were on console and only around 50k pieces

I may be wrong but I’ve been using hold square and left on d pad. I think that’s what I’ve been pressing to undo sections that are going wrong.

For me Planet Zoo is also too complex 😟😖
I've had so much fun with Planet Coaster - after 2 days with Planet Zoo I'm really disappointed, too 😕👎
Whilst Planet Coaster consumed my free time so much, that grounds for divorce may have been warranted .. I think I'm a minority of that community, in not getting any buzz for Planet Zoo.
I'll be interested to see these 'Franchise Mode Videos' and see if that captures me at all, but probably a game I'll happily experience via TH-cam more so than play myself 🤷♂️

Seeing that even on PS5 you get performance issue, you’d be glad it doesn’t release for old gen. You might not even be able to run a small size zoo at lowest settings. And dude PS5 is now entering 4th year, it’s like asking developers to release FF15 for both the PS4 plus PS3. Get on with it..
i can understand your frustration but even a ps5 is struggling to run it at times, its an extremely demanding game! I do recommend upgrading though, not just for zoo but so many amazing ps5 games now!

wow this was a long comment, i think its a case of building smarter not more. You dont need 100,000 pieces to make a mega zoo, planet coaster proved that - some of the best parks ive ever seen created were on console and only around 50k pieces

Coming from playing both jwe games, i find the planet coaster and now planet zoo controls horrible.
Definitely more complex
they certainly take some getting used to thats for certain but eventually it becomes 2nd nature
