Hi, for the battery problem Solved it with a USB Powerbank in my pocket connected to the camera and I can run a full day long so I only have one battery.
Congrats on the very nice set up! Some great lenses too. I love my E-M1X -- it's the best camera I've ever owned (and I've owned quite a few). The big thing is that the overall feel and function of the camera make it a real pleasure to use -- and it's built like a rock.
I'm still waiting for the Sony RX10 MV, which in my dreams will have the latest sensor to effectively give 30MP with double the light input to give an f1.8 - f2.8 lens, zoom tracking, a vertical grip, dual high speed card slots, 8K video and a fully articulating full touch screen. There will be a Zeiss quick-connect wide angle converter for 12mm - 320mm equivalent shots. It will also have internal computational photography to imitate any type of depth of field and bokeh you want, to adjust for optical aberrations, with internal photoshop-like enhancements and software updates to expand the functions. Tell me when to stop... Until then, the Olympus is the better overall package for professional level shooting.
Just from rumors that are abounding that Sony will be discontinuing the RX 10 mark four I really don’t see the mark five coming out as I think they’re either going with the smaller cameras like the Z series or just going to the full frame format. I would love to see the mark five but again…..
As much as I appreciate the system you have and the quality Olympus brings to it, I would absolutely rather wait and go for a similar system built around an advanced 24 or 30MP 1 inch sensor. The technology is there, but the camera companies are holding back in order to sell down their backlogged inventory from the covid slowdown. They have to tread lightly with sensor advancements lest they break their own bank. But if Olympus comes out with a 1 inch sensor system with interchangeable lenses, the optics will make it so compelling we might never look back: a 12 - 40mm equivalent f2 lens; a 40 - 600 equivalent f2.8 with active zoom tracking, all with same build as this MD E-M1X. That would be awesome, and Olympus seems like just the company to have the audacity to pull it off, an instant classic from the start.
After waiting for a year, I really don’t see Olympus coming out with anything new in the micro 4/3 category. With the constant improvement to some degree of the smart phone it will only be the people that are looking for the smaller package with the long zooms for birding, sports, etc. in my opinion.
Wait for it. Sony will release a RX10 Mk V thus year just to spite people... The key selling point for Rx10 series is compact size / jack of all trade. Small sensor = low light performance is lacking. M43 is also less than stellar for low light... Having a 600mm equivalent lens in M43 is really adding to the bulk...
Yes, I have been looking at the OM-D M10 iv with the 75-300 f/4.8 to 6.7 as a possible alternative to the Sony RX10 iv as they are within touching distance on price. I think with this lens the OM-D is not going to have a low-light edge as the f/4 @ 600mm equvalent of the Sony is going to more than compensate in pixel illumination terms when up against f/6.7 on the larger sensor of the OM-D (about 50% more photons per pixel per second with the Sony I think). Obviously one can dig deep and get a fast prime on the OM-D but the price differential is huge.
Question about the f/ rating: if the mm range doubles for full frame equivalent, does the f stop also double - from f/4 to f/5.6? Looking for clarification. Thanks, anyone.
From all that I’ve read and watched the F stop doesn’t change from one size of a sensor to another because that is relative to the lens being used. So an F4 in Olympus is the same as an F4 on a Nikon full frame camera because the lens takes in the light against the size of the sensor. the only difference that I know of is that the bokeh is different, meaning depth the field, because of the size difference between a micro 4/3 and a full frame camera.
Good Video i was looking into that Olympus, I also owned a RX10IV but agree that not being able to change zoom position whilst shooting is a dealbreaker for me
Keep enjoying your photography. Glad to see you are healthy and still young like 12 years ago.
Thanks
Good presentation, nice to see those lenses in detail. Olympus gear is superb. Best wishes from Wales.

thank you sir ! looking forward to your next review of the features !

You have a very powerful setup there. The Mc20 on the 300mmf4 will still give outstanding result in good light as the 300mm itself is crazy sharp.
For the aperture don't forget that MFT to FF is also X2 so F1.8 is F3.2 equiv FF for DoF

Great. Video no BS great point on the manual clutch I've never had a problem with it

Ich habe auch gehofft und gewartet, aber es wird nichts kommen.

Doubt Sony will release a MK5 its been 6 years since the MK4 released
Unless Sony marketing realizes what they have on their hands - they'll never upgrade this camera...
Weird comparison lol. Rx10iv is a bridge camera. Both are great though
I’ve gone back to the RX 10 Mark four!
I reckon you’ll swap back to the best camera in the world 😉
Indeed, I am back with the RX!
Thanks for info !

Running out of juice almost ALWAYS guarantees me a missed shot
