Beatiful video!!!. Thanks!!!. Once I was diving in the Meditarranean Sea. We were going to dive in a very nice wreck. The wreck more or less 25 minutes by boat from the shore. When we arrived to the place, I realized I forgot my mask . When I said that to the guide he said, "ok we are going back to the dive center so you can get your mask". You can imagine the faces of the other divers in the boat. At the end of the day, it was an amazing dive . After the dive, I invited all the ones in the boat to have a beer so that I can "fix" my mistake :)) 😄😄
Hahaha good on you for doing that but I’m sure everyone has been there at one point in their dive career. We all have to give each other a little grace to be human💙 glad it was a fun day!
I've forgotten important things a few times. Fortunately where I dive, I can rent most things so I didn't miss very many dives. But I had to develop a charging and packing system so things aren't forgotten.
Been there!! This past summer I was going with some friends Diving, I woke up supper early and put my fins leaning against my bumper, but in the rush to leave I drove off and left them in my parking spot. Luckily I was able to call a neighbor but she was able to keep them until I returned so That day I snorkeled instead😊
Go so tired of myself forgetting gears (closest dive site half a day away from home) that I did like pilots do: printed a checklist, that includes every single piece - including obvious and large ones like my suit. PS: my heart jumped at 10:35 😅
Lumpsuckers and grunt sculpin are the best. Go dive Sunrise Beach and do a "feed the wolf eel" video. You'll also find your large octos hanging out and about as you dive around looking for urchins to feed the wolfies. It was there that I befriended a rather large octo, picked it up, and slung it over my head and shoulders for a bit. Just remember to take your gloves off if you handle the wolf eels and octos really like the feel of an exposed hand.
Thanks for the tip about Sunrise Beach. But I probably won't be touching the wild life. I like to keep my fingers. But seeing such amazing creatures is always a treat!
I was preparing to lead a group of divers on a boat dive 4 years ago. Walking up to the boat I realized I was without fins. A mad dash back to the dive shop and a late departure ensued. To this day, other dive pros who were on the boat that day remind me of my mental lapse. You know, just in case I forgot my fins again. But the worst one was forgetting my computer on the boat and not realizing it until I was descending with an Advanced Open Water student for their deep dive. That was the day I started taking my own predive safety check seriously again.
Funny, I was going to write that I forgot my dive computer on a dive too. I noticed when I was on the RIB on the way to the site. Glad I had an analog pressure & depth gauge as backup and could complete the dive.
No dive fins... ¡Caramba! ¡Dios mío! Nice recovery though! 👍 Seems many I know are buying boats these days? 🤔... go figure! As always great dive footage... didn't realize there was that much color in that part of the ocean... 👍 Thanks for the heads up on the "Dive Buddy" app.... already installed the app... uploaded my certs... 📱👀 VIVA BAYA! VIVA MEXICO!
LOL - Yesterday on rented equipment we were all suited up and realized that the new scuba shop employee didn't set our regulators up with dry suit hoses. Luckily, our group had extras. My personal gear needs to be serviced so I went with renting. No problem tho, since we had backups but that could've been so disappointing!
Drove 2.5 hrs only to forget my *entire drysuit with built in boots*!!! 😆 So ended up diving in my basketball pants, t shirt, and running shoes (to fit in my fins) 🤷♂️
Oh man, I feel you about losing/leaving behind gear. It’s something I use ADHD as a scapegoat for - and I left behind gloves, a dive mask and left boots behind at a friend’s house. I’ve downloaded Buddy but haven’t had time to play with it. Next time I’m in Monterey(or really any diveable place), I’ll try that radar feature.
@@AzulUnlimited ah yeah true especially at a new site that requires a surface swim…if it was a walk-in and drop down I’d be saying just hold on to your dive buddy and make them drag you around 😆
Have you ever tried the Keystone Jetty Dive? It's a bit of a drive but the anemone wall and GPOs don't disappoint! The currents can get gnarly so you could be facing a crawl back, but the jetty bottoms out at around 20m so definitely a pleasant dive (and bring a discovery pass). PS This app is what I've been looking for all this time after moving to PNW from FL!
Forgetting gear is the worst, and humiliating! I drove 2 hours to go diving with a club I am a member of (first time diving with them). Of course I left my mask AND backup mask! I realized once we were all geared up and walking to the boat. Luckily, someone lent me their backup mask, so all ended well.
I have forgot stuff at that exact same site lol. If you haven't been to lobster shop wall, Tacoma pipeline, or day island I would gladly show you those sites. Also would like to connect so me she my buddy cash maybe improve our side mount skills!
@ ok cool! Me And my buddy want to connect with you do do a one day side mount class. We're both certified in sm but are wanting to switch to aluminum 80s. We've only used steel for sm. Is this something you can offer?

Thank you!
That was such a fascinating episode. Well done.
Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hey it's Barry! - I've dove with that guy a couple times too🙂. Lovely person. Amazing how often you run into familiar faces around here.
Small world! It is amazing how many familiar faces you see when you’re out exploring

Wow 🤩 Great footage❣️ So nice you are meeting fellow divers and making new friends❣️
Thanks so much! It’s always great to connect with other divers.
Lumpy’s are nice, but look for the sail fin sculpin, my favorite! Their tall sail like fin flapping like a loose sale is so chill.
Ah yes, those are great too!
Beautiful video, loved those two cute fishes peeking out of that pipe thing!
Those are gunnels. They are so derpy and cute!
So glad you got to get back out there!
Me too! It was so fun
I make pictogram checklists for all my dive gear. It works for me. - The one time I said, "aw, I don't need the checklist!", I forgot my booties.
Isn't that always how it happens?
I can see why you love the Lumpies (is that how the name is spelled?) - ultracute.
I think so! Thank you for watching🙏
I've forgotten important things a few times. Fortunately where I dive, I can rent most things so I didn't miss very many dives. But I had to develop a charging and packing system so things aren't forgotten.
That’s a good idea. I’m developing checklists for the boat so I might have to make one for that as well
@@AzulUnlimited I feel like printed check lists are a bit too rigid. I write out a packing list on a whiteboard when I plan the dive.
That’s so cool!!!!
The lumpies? Aren't they adorable?
Awesome video, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, dry suit diving is another level, great video🤿 I always seem to forget my flashlight during Florida spring dives😢
It happens to the best of us!
👍😎🤿🇵🇭! Nice enjoyable video!

Wow, you're lucky you had such a great neighbor!
Lump suckers are also off shallow line in eel grass of Redondo Dive Site and on Shelf in eel grass of Dash Point Dive Site.
Good to know! I’ll have to go looking for them👀
Go so tired of myself forgetting gears (closest dive site half a day away from home) that I did like pilots do: printed a checklist, that includes every single piece - including obvious and large ones like my suit. PS: my heart jumped at 10:35 😅
That’s a good plan. I haven’t had to think about it much bc I usually have my whole house with me when I dive🤣
Same with me. Without my gear pack & prep checklist I'd be screwed. I can't understand how people manage without one.
There's a big field of tube-dwelling anemones at 150 in that area. I've seen longspine combfish in that area too.
I need to get back to that area soon!

@@tcoiler nice!
I've just moved to the PNW and will have to give this one a try!
Definitely! But make sure you hit the tides right to make it as enjoyable as possible.
@AzulUnlimited I'm Whidbey Island based, seems like everywhere here is very tide dependant. Although I'm almost always bringing a DPV now.

Oh man, that’s awful! You’re brave for diving without a drysuit. 😂
You gotta be kidding me, BSG was soooooo awesome 🤖
The actual best. I might be due for a rewatch soon 🤓
@ i think I’d need to fly the ol’ Jolly Roger to rewatch this as its not on my streaming sevices… 🏴☠️ 😂
Cool dive site - thanks!
My gear MO is to leave my fins on the roof of the car after a dive then drive off 😩
Been there, done that! haha!
I've forgetten a few things over the years. Fins once, hood ince or twice. Diving in puget sound without a hood is no fun!
Woof! I don’t think I’d survive a dive without a hood here!

That cabin cruiser ruined my plumose anemone expectations early in my diving career.
