    In this session Jesper takes us through the process of print - laminate then cut using the TrueVIS VG2.
    We take a look at cut setup and the processes involved with removing the media to laminate, then putting it back in the machine to cut.

    How much material do you need past the back crop marks for the pinch wheels to hold when cutting? Also between jobs with crop marks is there a way to reduce waste? Thanks

    Love the video, but I see that you used the default cutting settings. What procedure would you recommend to tune the cutting specifications. For example using 3M 40C-10R and 3M 8089 over laminate

      Hi Michael, depending on the type of media used, you will need the right blade. As you are cutting through vinyl and laminate, you may need a sandblast blade. With this and the force combination setting on the VG2, you should be able to cut through the material. If you have any further issues, please contact our tech support team on techsupport@rolanddg.co.uk.

    are you supposed to set the media width after you load the laminated media back in? Or do you just select cut and send the job to print?

      No need, just send the cut!

    Is there a workflow to print / cut while using the take up unit like some older models? XR I think?

      Hi Pete,
      Yes this is the same process as on older models, you just need to use the Custom Cut function and select TU2 on the device when setting up.

    Is there any print and cut machine that would require no lamination for car decals or wraps

    • @RolandDGEMEA
      @RolandDGEMEA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, with any ink type being printed you need lamination as the vehicles are exposed to so many varying conditions, often at high speeds and cleaning etc. so the ink needs protection. For some smaller decals or short term, you may be ok without lamination.

      Roland DG UK okay awesome, what’s the lifetime of the ink without lamination for outdoor ? I’m thinking I’m buying this over the latex

    • @RolandDGEMEA
      @RolandDGEMEA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KtuluLeaderRise For the TrueVIS ink (TR2) you would be looking at around 3 years outdoor durability, but again there are a lot of variables to take in to consideration.
