So, your arrest was illegal, but you could have to pay up to $400,000 costs? What an indictment on the Australian justice system! I wouldn't be too happy with that judge of yours. It sounds to me she's set you up for possible costs, something she must have known about. Why didn't she award you an amount equal to or better than the shut up and go away money? You've made my day Monica!! Brilliant news ❤❤❤ Yeah, that's not great to have to pay $300k costs - not fair at all - that's not justice.

@@kathrynevans165 being arrested in the first place wasn't her choice.....you are missing the point totally. Nothing has been achieved if you consider a win getting charges dismissed and a few thousand dollars awarded...as she stated...they were prepared to make her bankrupt.
The police and the judiciary are quite happy not paying her anything because the system is designed to make you pay. A missed opportunity to make them pay for their foolishness.

Well done Monica!! You can apply for costs as a separate hearing, or costs with indemnity. Either way the legal system is too expensive for most people to actually get justice. Have you taken advice on suing them civilly for wrongful arrest. If a police officer arrests you, they need to be planning to charge you with the evidence they have to hand. Yeah, take that Vicpol, next time do your job and arrest real criminals, and BTW Vicpol, grow some balls, and don't treat your good officers so badly, as there are many that were disgusted by what they saw.
