Everything Blair did before he was imprisoned in the shack made perfect sense. He was a little smarter than the others and understood the situation immediately - the Thing mustn't be allowed to reach civilization. If you listen to him while he's destroying the communication equipment, he's explaining what he's doing. Oh, there's a 1951 version called "The Thing From Another World." Carpenter was a big admirer of it and decided to see what could be done with modern film making technology. The 2011 version is a prequel which shows what happened at the Norwegian camp. I enjoyed it. All of this started as 1938 novella called "Who Goes There?" by John W. Campbell Jr., who was actually primarily an editor.
Its usually speculated that Norris or Palmer is the first human to get infected by Dog-thing then at some point the other one is infected. Blair was normal until he was locked in the shed they left him defenseless and isolated, essentially serving him up on a silver platter. Listen closely and you can tell his demeanor is completely different. Before he was infected he made a noose to hang himself and next thing you know he's all better and wants to come back inside with everyone else.
Yeah, that part was a little bit silly honestly. When he was locked in that room by himself and he started saying he’s okay now. 😂 Like…”no you are not, sir….acting like a straight skinwalker” 💀
I always assumed that he was just scared shitless after being locked in the shed while the organism was on the prowl. Not that it mattered though because he was assimilated in the end anyway. It’s so crazy that there was so many times where if the team didn’t catch on, the thing would have spread enough that it would’ve been game over. Still don’t know whether Norris was just acting like he had a heart to attack to kill more team members or if it was a heart problem with the host it was imitating coming to a head or if the imitation was incomplete and caused the heart attack. Not sure since the long game should have been always in the favor of the thing. Maybe it was trying to distract so that the Blair thing could build a space craft. Idk and that’s what I love about the film
Just a theory, but in the scene where Blair is showing the others the Thing dog corpse, he points at it very closely with the eraser on his pencil and then brings it back towards his face. I wonder if a tiny bit got on him then.
"Usually speculated" - by, who? There's no way, at all, to determine who is infected first. To say that Blair was attached in the shed is not any revelation - it's actually to say, nothing: of course he was attacked in the shed, that's the actual story that's been filmed. I don't understand this: the entire point of this narrative is that there is no way to be certain who, is what - from the second that dog shows up at the camp and then goes off-screen. After that, there is no certainty in anything - and right up to the final frame.
After 7 minutes of your reaction, you had already logically theorised better than any other reactors I watched. All those reactors could do was say "please don't kill the dog!!", while missing all the queues that Carpenter obviously placed in the build-up. Well done. The prequel is worth a watch. It is respectful of this masterpiece.
It’s a blessing and a curse to be someone who over analyzes things in movies sometimes. 😂 this movie was amazing though! We would love to watch the second one, but skeptical tbh…
@@Krushingreactions The Thing (2011) is pretty good but you have to deal with mediocre CGI because someone decided to use CGI instead of the practical affects they worked with during filming. Also this film The Thing (1982) is based on an older film that's based on a book, so it's a pretty old story.
@@Sealice_the_SilverI know we SHOULD watch the newer ones to understand some of the events in this one…but we’re dreading it tbh…see nothing but horror stories surrounding that one.
Yes! I love when people do reactions to this movie. The Norwegian guy in the beginning said: "Get the hell out of here, that's not a dog, it's some kind of thing! It's imitating a dog, it isn't real! Get away, you idiots!" I went to see this movie when it came out and everyone else and all of my friends went to see E.T. The theater was only half-full and the people there were having the time of their lives watching this masterpiece. Carpenter has done it again with the perfect mix of horror, suspense and top tier paranoia. I don't know how MacReady didn't get infected when that blood jumped out of the petri dish. I thought that everyone in the room got infected when Norris' stomach opened up and his intestines and veins were splashing the green blood everywhere The characters did not trust anything or anyone else because they could not tell who was human or an alien. They didn't even know if they were infected or not. I love the how Carpenter tried to misdirect us by making us think that Clark was infected because he spent time with the dog. Blaire immediately understood the magnitude of the situation when he did his analysis of the organism. He did not want anyone that's infected getting back to civilization. The computer analysis estimated that it would take a little over three years to infect the whole world population. That's scary as hell. I was so happy that I went to see this movie. I told all my friends about it and we all went to see it the next weekend and they loved it. The practical effects are amazing. This movie holds up to any horror movie today. Carpenter is a genius at suspense and horror. In his first Halloween movie, the children that were watching TV were watching the original "The Thing from Another World" movie.
Yeah, this movie was beyond amazing! I wish they made MORE movies like this one with the practical effects. We watched this movie literally over 40 years later and it’s still better than a lot of newer movies now. Even the practical effects looked amazing, I have no idea how they even did half of it tbh. I bet this movie gave every kid nightmares back when it came out! 😂
"Invasion of the body snatchers" ,the one from the 70s with Donald Sutherland,is similar in that whole paranoid aspect of who is who. Although its a little more subdued and lowkey than 'The Thing' in its approach, its still gives a chill up the spine. Also some social commentary inserted in there. And a very solid cast to top it off!
Definitely have to add that one to the list as well. Surprisingly, we are loving the older movies from before the 90s. Seems almost refreshing in a way…
Jory, as a man who saw this great film when it was first released in theaters, I was really pleased with your appreciation of the filmography. This film, as has Alien, aged well and is now a cult classic. Practical effects still hold up in the age of CGI. Also, the mystery and paranoia of the film still intrigue viewers as well as the ambiguous ending. Glad you guys liked it and I thoroughly enjoyed your reactions!❤😊
I’ve noticed recently with watching these older classic films, I’ve grown an appreciation or respect for movies. Before, I’d just watch a movie for the sheer entertainment. If it was good or bad and that would be it. Having watched these older ones though, it starts to make you wonder how they shot certain scenes or how they did the practical effects or certain angels on scenes, etc. it’s really amazing. I do wish they would make more movies like this one, to be honest. But, I’m sure we will come across more great ones as we do more and more reactions to other movies! 🍿 Thank you for also taking the time to watch it with us and comment as well. We appreciate you!
It all started in 1951 with the film “The Thing from Another World” in b/w. An excellent film that also resolves some of the questions from 1982, e.g. why can the creature exist for longer than 100,000 years.
according to the movie bio, the prequel did have practical effects but the studio opted to change them to CGI, which I think was it's mistake. It is worth watching and ends exactly where this movie starts. The only thing is - the CGI is dated
Rob Bottin is about 90% responsibile the creature effects. Working himself sick on set and ended up having severe dehydration and pneumonia and was order to the hospital by John Carpenter himself.
The excellent book that it is based based upon ('Who Goes There' by John W. Campbell Jr) should satisfy your curiosity about some of the details Carpenter purposely left for the audience to figure out for themselves. My all-time favorite Halloween movie.
Someone else also mentioned that as well! Will definitely check it out! This movie is a masterpiece and super entertaining! Would love to explore the lore in more detail! Thanks for the recommendation.
So, I am a huge fan of The Thing. It came out when I was a senior in HS, and my best friend and I saw it opening night...It scared the crap out of us and we had to walk home in the dark... 😂I watch every single reaction to this classic film and I sub everyone whose reaction I consider appropriate: Utter terror and an appreciation for the special effects, the acting and the direction. Great reaction, you two! The thing from 2011 is a prequel and it's...ok. Worth a watch, however. There are so many more great films from the 80s, subbing for more!
We appreciate you! Honestly we have seen a lot of people mention the second one and to be completely honest, we’re a bit hesitant to watch it. The first one was amazing in every way. I don’t even think the second can hold up and may overdo it with CGI. Again, we haven’t seen it yet so we could be completely wrong. 😂 this movie back then was probably so terrifying considering how well done the effects were! Which is crazy to me…I wish we would go back to this type of entertainment tbh.
Tensions were high, so Clark thought the smart thing to do was charge Mac with a loaded gun, with a scalpel. I always thought that a dumb move. Thanx for the reaction, take care..xx
You are not wrong at all! 😂 we thought that was an interesting choice as well! And No, thank YOU for taking the time out of your day to click on the video and leave a nice comment! We appreciate you! 🙏
Oh yeah-the big argument about who had the keys to the blood? Windows got them from Gary, but dropped them when he saw Bennings being taken over.Listen carefully and you'll hear it before he runs.
John Carpenter's masterpiece of suspense, mystery, paranoia, and horror; and still debated and great 42 years later. Check out "Prince Of Darkness". It didn't have the budget since "The Thing" didn't do well, but it still is suspenseful, creepy, horrifying, and with very interesting sci-fi and supernatural elements. It stars Dr. Loomis from "Halloween" Donald Pleasence and Alice Cooper(rock musician) as the creepy leader of the "followers".
Oh! Thank you so much for the recommendation! We will definitely add it to the list to watch! These older movies are honestly amazing. I can’t believe we have been sleeping on there this entire time…
And that, dear friends, is the reason why this legendary sci-fi horror shocker from 1982 is - quite rightly - called “THE THING”. 😱 😉 PS: If it were that easy to kill/burn the “evil”, the movie would be over after 15 minutes.
This movie was a masterpiece! We enjoyed it so much! Makes me excited to watch more movies from this time or other classics like this one! Thank you for taking the time to click on the video and leave us a comment and subbing! we appreciate it a lot!
John Carpenter had a sequel planned, where they get picked up by a Japanese medical submarine, but Universal weren't interested because it flopped at the box office (up against E.T. and Blade Runner) and panned by the critics who now praise it. And Carpenter finds it funny that no one knows if The Thing is still alive at the end. Obvious, when you know what to look for.I know...
Eye gleam is not definitive either way if that is what you are trying to allude to. Childs had eye gleam at the end when he turned to look at the flames momentarily and Carpenter already indicated that the light being absent from Childs eyes was intentional to simply show he had lost hope of surviving. Similarly, they simply had a bad angle and proximity to a heat source, so cold air condensing as breath does not help determine who is the Thing either. Besides, plenty of scenes show that those that were the Thing were breathing plumes of condensed air in a cold environment. It is interesting to theorize and think we know who the Thing is.. but unless you are Carpenter, nobody, not even his film crew, knew who was or was not supposed to be the Thing at the end. The fact that MacReady gave the whiskey bottle to Childs to drink from is interesting since many theorize that MacReady could have been The Thing trying to infect Childs at that point and even more interesting that Childs accepted the drink after knowing that The Thing can infect with just a small particle of itself. This indicates that Childs was quite likely The Thing (we all saw how suspicious Childs was previously and he would be the first to not accept a drink that could infect him) due to him accepting the bottle and MacReady laughing (probably about having found his opponent). Foreshadowing of this already occurred when MacReady used the whiskey to destroy his first opponent, the Chess Wizard game, showing he will play dirty to win at all costs. He uses the whiskey bottle at the end to determine if Childs is The Thing in the same manner, thereby revealing his opponent. No, the whiskey bottle did not have fuel in it... MacReady was trying to drink from it before Childs arrived on the scene. Regardless of how much we all want to theorize, there simply is not enough raw data to definitively say who is or is not The Thing at the end. We can only look at what happened and assume based on how individuals would have and should have reacted.
Would that be like one of those flying Japanese subs? “No dog is making it a thousand miles to the coast.” Apparently, US base 31 was just a tad far from the ocean. So not gonna be reached by a submarine. And Antarctica is a continent. With solid ground under all that ice. So unlike Ice Station Zebra in the arctic, no subs will be pushing themselves up through the ice.
@@Krushingreactions that's a theory but not a good one. You saw what it did to people, do you really think you would survive the digestion process? A tentacle going right through the center of you. When it takes you, you die, the thing is what remains.
Yes.. practical effects rule that's why the guy in charge of them went directly to the hospital when shooting wrapped...and yes..the new thing is actually great because its a prequel and is not meant to "compete" with this movie..👍
Really want to watch that one! Have so many questions about that other section in the movie and what exactly took place there. Or their first encounter with the Thing creature!
This is a part of John Carpenter's "Apocalypse Trilogy," The others two are "In the Mouth of Madness" and, oh what was it, "Prince of Darkness" maybe? The movies aren't in the same universe as the others but are related in the sense that they risk the entire world. The other two are pretty dated which is why nobody talks about them. This one is timeless as you said.
How would you leave? You kept saying leave. How? Blair disabled the chopper, the equipment they had wouldnt get you far and youd freeze to death. Not to mention youd risk bringing that thing to civilized areas, which means goodbye humanity. Blair and mac understood ramifications, and realized they had to die out there to save humanity. That said, i also have always thought would it be also be wise to leave a survivor? Because in case there is more or perhaps even melting ice would uncover it, someone would need to know how to fight it. Probably wouldnt be believed but its an interesting dilemma.
AND you don’t even know if YOU’RE the Thing! Which is even more terrifying! But, I’m selfish…😔 I admit it, I’m out of there at first chance..I don’t even care if I was the Thing unknowingly… the right move would obviously kill everyone involved. Everyone jump into the fire or something idk…it would just be me running to absolutely nowhere and eventually freeze to death anyways because of my own stupidity. 😂
John Carpenter left the ending so that the audience would guess their own opinion on the final scene. John Carpenter said the best movies are the films that you have to make up your own mind on the ending.
Yeah, even if you go online and read forums no one even knows for certain whether either one of them are the thing or not. It’s such a great movie in that regard! Over 40 years has passed and we STILL don’t know! That’s crazy!
The new one is a prequel. And while they did a decent job, trying to explain what happened to the Norwegian camp, they relied too heavily on CGI and they totally ruined the continuity with the spaceship.
That’s funny! We actually have a lot of those on our list as well to watch! 😂 Thank you so much for the additional recommendations! More we have the better!
I’ve watched this movie and reaction videos so many times, but I think I saw something new (not sure due to the edit cuts,) but it looks like Childs chops the upper part of the door to the storeroom Macready has broken into, only to just kick the door open anyhow. It was good for a laugh.
THAT 26:58 reminds me of a "Snapping Turk" from the movie Yellow Submarine (assuming you've seen THAT flick). In fact, maybe that thing had "assimilated" one?
YES! We read something online that said that too! The Thing has multiple ways of getting you! It can do the normal absorption to become you, etc. BUT, you could also just be infected and not even know it until it’s too late! That’s terrifying!

They did talk to The Thing. Palmer-Thing and Norris-Thing; and they hid themselves imitating the humans. Palmer sewing distrust with "I'm not going with Windows"; outing the spiderhead-Thing to throw off suspicion of him; and planting MacReady's ripped clothes. Norris-Thing not wanting to be in charge. Peace negotiations don't seem remotely possible.
@@castlew4162 To be fair I'd hide from a bunch of lunatics with flamethrowers too. I'm thinking more like Benningsthing, or once Palmerthing was outed. Talking to *the Thing* as opposed to someone who turned out to be the Thing later.
The best horror in my opinion, cant think of a worst scenario to find yourself in, besides maybe the Road. Youre battling an intelligent lifeform, you dont know if its malicious or simply trying to survive, it can only be ended by fire/acid, it can end you JUST by touching you, its incredibly difficult to tell what is and isnt an assimilation, and if it gets to transportation or water, its not just the end of humans but all life on Earth. As an animal lover, i always have to remember its all fake lol every winter when the wind howls, i think of this movie. ❤👽🦠🛸❄️

Enjoyed your reaction. To fit your spooktober, recommend the 1980 classic The Shining, directed by Stanley Kubrick, starring Jack Nicholson. Based on a Stephen King novella. King didn't like the screenplay vs his novel.
***3 SOLID REASONS WHY CHILDS IS THE THING:*** #1 - Childs Jacket Swap When McReady, Garry and Nauls go to give the Doc the blood test out in the shack, they leave Childs (wearing a Blue jacket) alone to guard the door. There are 3 jackets hanging on hooks on the wall behind Childs with the colours of the jackets being Blue, Green and Beige. When the Thing kills you, it rips your clothes apart and when you see the same room several minutes later, the jacket colours have been changed to Beige, Green and Green. There are also other jackets hanging on the left and right of the room, thus allowing the Thing after killing Childs to put on another jacket to blend in with the remaining humans, but incorrectly replacing 2 ‘out of sync' colour jackets to the same wall. Childs is shown wearing a Green jacket in the final 2-minutes of the film with McReady, not the original Blue jacket when he was last seen guarding the door, hence Childs is the Thing. NOTE: Some people say Childs jacket is Blue in the final scene, however if this is true, it still doesn’t explain the 2 ‘out of sync' swapped colour jackets on the wall as mentioned above. This would show that the Thing swapped Childs Blue ripped jacket for the Blue undamaged jacket that was shown previously hanging on the wall, but which is later shown as replaced with a Beige jacket. #2 - Childs Breathing The last 2-minutes of dialogue out in the freezing cold between McReady and Childs clearly shows the steam McReady makes as a human when he breathes. But Childs makes no steam at all when he breathes, because Childs is non-human and either has the same temperature inside his body as outside, or is mimicking breathing, hence Childs is the Thing. NOTE: Some people point to the fact that Bennings had steam from his breath before the fuel drum was kicked on him prior to McReady throwing a flare on him that killed the Bennings Thing earlier in the film, but the Thing hadn’t fully taken over Bennings by that point (remember his hand was massive and still in the process of transforming) which means Bennings was STILL part-human (with normal breathing at the time) that could explain this. #3 - Childs First Drink When sitting down in the snow at the very end of the film, McReady hears a faint creek of wood behind him and half raises a bottle to his mouth. The 'drink' McReady passes to Childs is a Molotov cocktail (many Molotov’s were just thrown to set the research station on fire) and after drinking the gasoline, Childs has NO REACTION and makes NO COMMENT. A human would either not drink from the bottle because of the smell, or would spit the gasoline out immediately, but the Thing has no reference to the smell or taste of ANY fluid and as a result 'outs' itself to McReady. McReady smiles, laughs to himself about the Thing failing his second test (the first was the blood test) and he rests his head knowing the dire situation he finds himself in and he’s been checkmated (the same as he was playing the computer chess game earlier on in the film), hence Childs is the Thing. CONCLUSION: At the end of the film McReady and the Thing are seated next to each other out in the freezing cold with McReady NOT ‘waiting to see what happens next...', but unfortunately for McReady, KNOWING ‘what happens next...’.
Amazing attention to detail! It’s honestly such a crazy movie! And I think you’re right honestly. THE FACULTY is almost a total rip-off of this. I hated it then and I hate it now. This is the first in John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy, which deal with the end of the world. The other 2 are PRINCE OF DARKNESS (1987) and IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS (1994). All 3 are great. Keep in mind that in 1982, the personal PC wasn't really a thing yet. Even desktops weren't much of a thing except in offices. So personal technology wasn't present in people's lives. At most you had The Walkman. Other than that, the biggest piece of tech people had in their homes would've been a TV and a stereo (maybe a VCR by 1982, but that was just picking up).
It’s so crazy to think about how quickly tech and movies have progressed. This movie came out over 40 years ago and still holds up today. We definitely need to watch those other movies! A lot of people have also recommended some of those as well, so thank you for recommending them!

Definitely have to add that one to the list as well. Surprisingly, we are loving the older movies from before the 90s. Seems almost refreshing in a way…
@@Krushingreactions"Invasion of the body snatchers" from 1956 is also a very good film. Because in b/w it is more subliminal and threatening.
They have to keep extinguishing the flames quickly so that the shelter which keeps them from freezing to death doesn't burn down.
You are absolutely right! Just for them to burn the whole place down at the end too! 😂
Best hat in movie history 😂
😂 you are not lying! Need one of those
It all started in 1951 with the film “The Thing from Another World” in b/w. An excellent film that also resolves some of the questions from 1982, e.g. why can the creature exist for longer than 100,000 years.
If this is true we will definitely look into it! So many unanswered questions! Thank you so much for recommending this!
@@Krushingreactions Very gladly. That's the advantage of being over 60, you have a larger fund.
Spiderhead Spiderhead, does whatever a Spiderhead does.
😂 that scene was so crazy!
Can it swing from a web? No it can't, it's a head.
The new one is a prequel...Its about the Norwegian Team..
REALLY!? We need to watch this! Is it worth the watch?!
@@Krushingreactions Well, I was not impressed with it, but you should probably watch it if you liked this version. It does answer some questions.
@@Krushingreactions Don't waste your time on 2011 The Thing, it's complete shit.
according to the movie bio, the prequel did have practical effects but the studio opted to change them to CGI, which I think was it's mistake. It is worth watching and ends exactly where this movie starts. The only thing is - the CGI is dated
@@KrushingreactionsYou should react to it....esp now while so few have.
Rob Bottin is about 90% responsibile the creature effects. Working himself sick on set and ended up having severe dehydration and pneumonia and was order to the hospital by John Carpenter himself.
Really!? We did not know this! Definitely will need to check this out as well! So much hidden information surrounding this movie!
@@Krushingreactions It's worth a watch as there are some well done scenes, plus, you can make fun of it after! 😂
Tensions were high, so Clark thought the smart thing to do was charge Mac with a loaded gun, with a scalpel. I always thought that a dumb move. Thanx for the reaction, take care..xx

Oh yeah-the big argument about who had the keys to the blood? Windows got them from Gary, but dropped them when he saw Bennings being taken over.Listen carefully and you'll hear it before he runs.
Oh! Great point! Definitely need to watch it back and listen carefully at that part!

😉
PS: If it were that easy to kill/burn the “evil”, the movie would be over after 15 minutes.
OR if they hadn’t killed the guy in the being who didn’t speak English and had a translator. The movie would’ve ended in like 5mins. 😂
My favorite movie of all time. You have a new channel but you have very good comments. Subbed.
Yeah..:that’s so unfortunate when that happens. Glad this movie has such a huge following now though, the film was beyond great!
Blade Runner didn't do well either, as it turns out.
if you’re talking about the breath, you couldn’t be more mistaken. Benning was a thing and we could see his breath when he howled.
Would that be like one of those flying Japanese subs?
“No dog is making it a thousand miles to the coast.”
Apparently, US base 31 was just a tad far from the ocean. So not gonna be reached by a submarine.
And Antarctica is a continent. With solid ground under all that ice. So unlike Ice Station Zebra in the arctic, no subs will be pushing themselves up through the ice.
Those trick questions won't work. It will get all your memories. The person next you could be a thing and you would never know
I read online AFTER we watched the movie that The Thing can literally be inside of you and you don’t even know it! That’s terrifying!
Definitely would like to take a look into those though! Thank you for the recommendation!
Insane practical effects for some 40 + years ago vastly superior to today's crappy CGI IMHO !
The effects in this movie were amazing!
Great reaction. Really scary. 😁
This movie was fantastic! We appreciate you for clicking on the video!
The new one is a prequel. And while they did a decent job, trying to explain what happened to the Norwegian camp, they relied too heavily on CGI and they totally ruined the continuity with the spaceship.
Dang. That’s unfortunate to hear! They didn’t even need CG! This movie came out soooo long ago and didn’t have any of that and still holds up today!
Alien /Aliens and the 1st 2 terminator movies. The Shining/Jaws, Halloween are great scifi /horror films..
Now we need to go back and watch it to see what you saw! 😂

We will definitely look into that! Thank you so much!
THAT 26:58 reminds me of a "Snapping Turk" from the movie Yellow Submarine (assuming you've seen THAT flick). In fact, maybe that thing had "assimilated" one?
Haven’t seen that one! 😭
John Carpenter didn't direct "Halloween 2." He doesn't care for sequels.
Yup! Absolutely Correct! He didn’t Direct Halloween II, but helped write and produce it. It was directed by Rick Rosenthal.
I read a book based on the movie and it hinted that some victims don't know they are infected.
YES! We read something online that said that too! The Thing has multiple ways of getting you! It can do the normal absorption to become you, etc. BUT, you could also just be infected and not even know it until it’s too late! That’s terrifying!

Hahaha! Good point! Clearly didn’t think that far ahead! 😂 need a translator!
The 2011 The Thing is a prequel about the Norwegian camp, but is relies on CG and isn't nearly as good.
That’s what we have been hearing! Definitely want to check that one out as well!
This one is the cause of many nightmares for me.
Definitely feel like the effects or visuals of this movie are so well done. This could give ANYONE watching it for the first time nightmares. 😂
I always gotta wonder if they could've talked to it.
You and me both
They did talk to The Thing.
Today the hat would have been totally CGI.
Oh! You know it would 😂
The best horror in my opinion, cant think of a worst scenario to find yourself in, besides maybe the Road. ❤👽🦠🛸❄️

Thanks for the recommendation! That’s a great one to added to the list as well as we finish up SpookTober!
***3 SOLID REASONS WHY CHILDS IS THE THING:***
#1 - Childs Jacket Swap
When McReady, Garry and Nauls go to give the Doc the blood test out in the shack, they leave Childs (wearing a Blue jacket) alone to guard the door.
#2 - Childs Breathing
The last 2-minutes of dialogue out in the freezing cold between McReady and Childs clearly shows the steam McReady makes as a human when he breathes.
#3 - Childs First Drink
When sitting down in the snow at the very end of the film, McReady hears a faint creek of wood behind him and half raises a bottle to his mouth.
CONCLUSION:
At the end of the film McReady and the Thing are seated next to each other out in the freezing cold with McReady NOT ‘waiting to see what happens next...', but unfortunately for McReady, KNOWING ‘what happens next...’.
Amazing attention to detail! It’s honestly such a crazy movie! And I think you’re right honestly.
