In my experience, right away. That's what I did when things finally started working for me. Just at a level that doesn't hurt. It's all laid out in my back pain recovery roadmap: www.painfreeonlinetraining.com
Bro i had disc bulge at l4 l5 segment pain only on lower back but tingling and numbness on leg what i do? Am doing prone hand and press ups 3 months but no instant fix what i do please tell me correctly
Are you still in pain? If so, I would stick with your press ups, walking and minimal to no sitting. If you are out of pain. You can start doing iso holds on the back extension with the pad at the highest level. See if you can do a 10 second iso hold. Using your arms to hold your back up initially. Maybe after a few weeks you can then see if you can do the 10/ second iso hold without our assistance. Do that for two or three weeks. Then move up to 20-30 seconds for the iso hold. At the same time, you can start doing gentle elephant walks with both legs. Maybe start with a pad just below your waist and work your way down to a lower level over a long period of time.
When is the right time to start after the disc Injury?

good way to accelerate problems is by stressing them more.
stress isn't the problem. too much stress is the problem. thats why we regress to our pain-free level
