  • A look around what remains of Bettisfield Railway Station near Wrexham, which was opened in 1863 by the Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway. This would soon become part of the Cambrian Railway's Whitchurch to Welshpool line.
The station survived until 1965. Today, it is a particularly well preserved former station now in residential use, with the station building, platform and goods shed all still left.
    Filmed 22nd June 2024.

My grandad, Alfred Evans, was signalman/porter here during for much of his working life - incl WW2. He now lies in the churchyard next door.
